Accommodations

TRUE NORTH is a classic 118-foot Broward that underwent an extensive refit in 2019, including a complete paint job. She offers accommodations for eight guests in four staterooms. The full-beam master stateroom features a king-size berth and a his-and-her head with an adjoining shower, while the two VIP staterooms each provide queen berths and ensuite baths. A fourth stateroom is arranged with two twin beds and an ensuite bath.

The main salon is light and airy, with large picture windows that frame excellent views of the surrounding area. An elegant plush sectional complemented by a coffee table, games table, and a wet bar creates an inviting setting for movie nights, casual entertaining, or formal gatherings. Forward, a separate formal dining area offers an intimate dining experience, and the main deck aft provides comfortable outdoor seating.

Formal dining salon

Positioned forward of the salon, the formal dining salon centers on a circular mahogany dining table encircled by six upholstered dining chairs. Overhead, a custom oval soffit with a decorative lighting fixture bathes the room in a warm glow, while custom mahogany panels with chair railing lend tailored sophistication. Storage shelves with glass doors provide elegant display and practical organization, and double French glass doors on the starboard side open to the galley for effortless service. Underfoot, marble flooring with custom inlay completes the refined ambiance.

Galley equipment

The galley is thoughtfully appointed with a Sub-Zero refrigerator/freezer (9/25), a KitchenAid double convection oven, a Miele five-burner stovetop, and a Miele Futura dishwasher, complemented by an Emerson microwave for quick convenience. Entertaining is effortless with a U-line 50-bottle wine cooler, while meal preparation unfolds across gleaming granite countertops. Electronics & navigational equipment

In the pilothouse, precision begins with a Garmin MFD 8600 GPS/Radar, guided by an Anshutz gyro compass and steadied by an Anschutz Pilotstar D autopilot. Navigation is further enriched by a Garmin GPS map 4210, a Nobel Tech plotter, and a Garmin speed, wind and distance monitor, complemented by Ray Marine ST 60+ wind instrumentation. Redundancy and clarity come via three Garmin GPS plotters and three Garmin 8600 multi touchscreens, while helm authority is assured with an American bow thruster jog lever, Naiad stabilizer control, Jastram steering, and an Insignia computer flatscreen.

On the flybridge, a Furuno FCV582 color video sounder pairs with a Garmin 4208 GPS plotter and a Garmin GPS 7608 plotter, with a Nobletec computer plotter and an Anshutz autopilot adding professional depth. A Pipewelders custom hardtop crowns a thoughtfully arranged flybridge where command and leisure meet in perfect balance. To port, a full helm station with helm bench seating ensures confident control, complemented by a starboard wing station for precise maneuvering. Entertaining is effortless at the bar with its teak top, three bar stools, Jenn Air grill, Sub-Zero refrigerator, and Scotsman icemaker, while a large L-shaped bench and a dinette with a Corian table invite relaxed gatherings. Teak decks elevate both ambiance and footing, and a safety door secures the bridge deck. Technology and adventure are equally at hand with an RTI streaming system and two 2021 Yamaha waverunners.

Aft deck equipment

The aft deck invites relaxation with a built-in settee featuring bench seating around a high-gloss teak table, complemented by five woven rattan dining chairs with cushions and a woven rattan lounge chair with cushioned ottoman. Entertaining is effortless at the bar, appointed with a sink, gooseneck faucet, icemaker, and storage, while a Samsung 34" DTV and RTI streaming system deliver onboard entertainment. Overhead lighting and stereo speakers set the ambiance, and a graceful spiral staircase leads to the flybridge. Teak decks extend to dual stairs, port and starboard, that descend to the teak swim platform fitted with stainless steel railings, with convenient access to the lazarette and engine room.

Deck equipment

On deck, the ground tackle features two Poole N 105 KG anchors complemented by two Maxwell 4500 anchor windlasses for confident holding and smooth deployment. Tender handling is streamlined by a Nautical Structures EZ 2500 davit, while boarding is made secure and convenient with a Marquipt seven-step boarding ladder and a Marquipt five-step vertical ladder.

Electrical equipment

Power on board is delivered by Northern Lights 50KW generators with sound shields, overhauled in 2021, with the port unit showing 3,684 hours and the starboard 8,828 hours. Shore services include two 100-amp single-phase shore power connections. Electrical reserves are provided by Sentry 12V 40-amp batteries and Sentry 24V 30-amp batteries. Vigilant oversight comes from an Elbex eight-zone monitoring system with remote, complemented by an HAI two-zone security alarm system.

Engine room & mechanical equipment

At the heart of the machinery space, twin Caterpillar 3412 engines underwent a major overhaul in September 2021, with the port showing 1082 hours SMOH and the starboard 1077 hours SMOH. Confident motion is assured by a Naiad 853 stabilizer system with hydraulic pumps, while precision maneuvering comes from an American bow thruster and Jastram hydraulic steering with dual rams. Power is delivered through ZF transmissions to Nibral five-bladed propellers on stainless steel, four and one-quarter inch diameter shafts, working in concert with spade-type rudders measuring forty-two inches by seventeen inches.

Fuel management is optimized by double Racor fuel filters and AC/DC fuel transfer pumps, and onboard climate control is maintained by three Aqua Air five-ton A/C chillers. Freshwater and purity are provided by a Spot Zero 80 GPH watermaker with tank filler and a dedicated Spot Zero RO system, supported by two Headhunter jet pac freshwater systems. Exhaust flow is handled by a new Metcalf exhaust system with new risers, mufflers, and mixers installed in 2024, complemented by a fiberglass exhaust system, while the ElectroSea growth prevention system safeguards long-term reliability.

Crew quarters, forward

Accessed forward of the galley and set below deck, the crew area is thoughtfully arranged for comfort and efficiency. The captain’s cabin features a double berth, a 32-inch TV, a safe, and a dedicated head, while two crew cabins each provide twin berths, a 32-inch TV, and a head. Practical amenities include an LG washer and a Hamilton Beach dryer to support extended voyages.

Twin guest stateroom, starboard

This welcoming starboard twin stateroom presents twin berths dressed in custom spreads and shams with upholstered headboards and convenient storage drawers below, all set against custom wallcovering that enriches the ambiance. Soft illumination from two decorative lights complements natural daylight through the portlight, while a hanging locker offers tidy wardrobe stowage. Entertainment is at hand with a Visio Smart 27-inch TV paired with a Sony stereo and CD player. The private bath continues the refined theme with a marble vanity, a mirror, and a shower enclosed in glass. Just outside in the lower companionway, a well-appointed laundry center with a Bosch washer and dryer is joined by a Whirlpool refrigerator and ample linen storage for effortless extended cruising.

Lazarette and dive room

Purpose-built for extended adventures, the lazarette and dive room is equipped with a Brownies dive compressor with 4-station tank fill. Cold storage is abundant, with a Kenmore refrigerator/freezer, a Frigidaire stand-up freezer, and a dedicated Kenmore bait freezer, while a Hoshizaki 150lb per day icemaker keeps provisions and the catch perfectly chilled. For post-dive comfort, this space also includes a head with shower.

Please note that the owner’s and crew’s personal effects are excluded from the sale, together with all artwork in the formal dining area. The sailboat-themed artwork located in the upper companionway is likewise retained by the seller, as is the onboard DVD collection.
