Overview

1968 Century Coronado
This exquisite vessel represents the final wooden Coronado crafted by Century, a fact confirmed by the Century Club (documentation available at the end of the photo gallery). Mostly in its original state, we have meticulously rebuilt the iconic 427/300 hp Ford Interceptor engine, which has only about 20 hours of use since the restoration. The hour meter indicates a total of 370 hours on the yacht, which is likely accurate. The interior has been tastefully updated, and the varnish along with the bottom paint was refreshed just last fall. When Century announced the end of their wooden boat production, Sierra Boat on Lake Tahoe expressed interest in acquiring all remaining Coronados, provided they featured hardtops. It appears Century had some leftover black hardtops from the 1965-67 production, as the 1968 model came with a tan hardtop to match the decks. This black hardtop is also verified as original by the Century Boat Club.
Included with the yacht for sale is a custom tandem axle trailer and a protective storage cover. Priced to reflect its rarity and exceptional condition, this is a unique opportunity for those looking to buy a yacht in the current boat location. Don't miss out on this gem in the yacht sales market!

Detailed Description

Section name

This 1968 Century Coronado is a remarkable piece of maritime history, representing the very last wood Coronado to roll off the production line at Century. Its authenticity is verified by the Century Club, with supporting documents available for review at the end of the photo gallery. This vessel remains largely original, featuring a meticulously rebuilt 427/300 hp Ford Interceptor engine, which has accrued a mere 20 hours since its restoration. The hour meter indicates a total of 370 hours on the boat, a figure that is likely accurate given its condition and history.

The interior has been updated with new, period-correct materials, while the varnish and bottom paint received a refreshing touch last fall, ensuring the boat is as visually striking as it is historically significant. When Century announced the cessation of their wood boat production, Sierra Boat on Lake Tahoe seized the opportunity to acquire all remaining Coronados, stipulating that they be hardtops. Interestingly, Century appears to have utilized some leftover black hardtops from their 1965-67 production, as the 1968 models typically featured tan hardtops to match the decks. This particular Coronado boasts a black hardtop, which has been verified as original by the Century Boat Club, adding to its unique allure.

Included with this rare vessel is a custom tandem axle trailer and a storage cover, ensuring that it is well-protected and easily transportable. The pricing reflects its rarity and pristine condition, making it a coveted acquisition for any discerning collector or enthusiast of classic wooden boats.
