Purpose-built to military specification, this vessel was originally configured to carry 14 crew within the aft house on the main deck, spanning from frame 40 to the stern. This self-contained zone comprises two berthing compartments, a head with laundry, a galley, a mess room, a store room, an electrical distribution equipment room, and a muffler room. The berthing arrangement featured a twelve-man compartment to port and a two-man Chief Petty Officer space to starboard. Today, the original portside crew quarters serve as a break and recreation room, while the starboard CPO space retains two metal bunk beds for crew rest. Immediately aft of the former crew quarters—now the break room—sits the dedicated crew head, shower, and laundry.
