Constructed in 1911 at the James Noble Yard in Fraserburgh, Scotland, for Alex Stephen, the VIOLET underwent a comprehensive restoration on Martha's Vineyard during the mid-1990s and has been meticulously maintained ever since. This vessel is a rare specimen of the ZULU class, a distinguished category of working boats from the UK.

In 2007, the yacht's keel and floor timbers were replaced, with internal ballast being removed and transferred to external ballast. For more details, please refer to the attached images.
