The hull and superstructure of this yacht are crafted from an entirely welded aluminium construction, adhering to the stringent regulations of ABS. A hydraulically operated aluminium watertight transom door provides access to the tender garage, ensuring both functionality and security. The design brief emphasized an easily driven hull, with a particular focus on optimizing propulsion power and fuel economy. Achieving a maximum cruising speed was a primary concern, and Computational Fluid Dynamics calculations were employed to refine the hull form. This development was instrumental in the subsequent creation of the Fast Displacement Hull Form by Van Oossanen & Associates, for which a patent application has been submitted.

Powering this impressive vessel are twin MTU 16V2000M93 engines, which propel the yacht to a top speed of 20.7 knots and a fast cruising speed exceeding 16 knots. The yacht's fuel economy is remarkable, consuming just 7.8 liters per nautical mile at 12 knots and 14 liters per nautical mile at 16 knots, even with normal generator operation, though actual performance may vary with sea conditions.

The hull form is predominantly of the round-bilge type, featuring spray rails in the fore body. Trim wedges are fitted inside the propeller tunnels, providing sufficient lift at the stern to maintain a near-horizontal running trim across the entire speed range. A bulbous bow is incorporated to minimize wave-making resistance. Special attention has been devoted to the design of the propeller shafts, appendages, and the propellers themselves, resulting in impressively low noise levels, measuring less than 55 dBA at 75% MCR. Additionally, the yacht is equipped with zero speed stabilizers, enhancing comfort and stability when at anchor.

Accommodations

The owners of my LATITUDE, seasoned boating enthusiasts, collaborated with Cor D. Rover to design a triple-deck yacht that offers expansive living spaces both indoors and outdoors. The design brief emphasized that this increased volume should be enveloped in a dynamic and sporty exterior. The accommodations for the owner and guests include five staterooms, with an additional sixth stateroom facility in the sky-lounge, comfortably accommodating up to 12 people. On the lower deck, there are two large full-beam VIP staterooms, complemented by two guest cabins, all featuring en-suite bathrooms. The owner's stateroom is situated on the main deck forward, providing a luxurious and private retreat.

The sky-lounge, equipped with full bathroom facilities, offers versatile use as a gymnasium or as a sixth stateroom with an en-suite bathroom. The main saloon and dining room boast a stylish bar area, and all outside decks are furnished with ample seating, perfect for hosting large gatherings. The interior exudes a contemporary aesthetic, blending wood, fabrics, and leather, accented by lively colors, all crafted by the renowned Dutch interior designer Piet Boon of Piet Boon Design.

The sundeck is a haven of relaxation, featuring a jacuzzi and an additional bar area complete with a barbeque, icemaker, and fridge. Crew accommodations are designed for a total of six, plus the captain, with three double crew cabins featuring twin bunks and a captain's cabin with a double bed. A unique feature of this yacht is the direct staircase on the port side, leading from the sundeck to the sunbathing area on the Portuguese bridge, allowing owners and guests to move around freely without entering the interiors.

Audio and visual equipment

The yacht is equipped with audio and visual systems of the highest standards, ensuring an exceptional entertainment experience on board. Central to this setup is a comprehensive Creston system, which seamlessly integrates with Kaleidescape players, offering a vast library of movies and music at your fingertips. This sophisticated system also provides intuitive controls for lighting, blinds, and intercom, enhancing the overall ambiance and convenience. Galley/laundry

The yacht boasts a custom-built stainless steel galley designed to professional standards, ensuring a top-tier culinary experience on board. This well-equipped kitchen features a microwave from M-system, model MCM600IX, and two 58-liter ovens, also from M-system, model SEN-601X. The cooking area is enhanced by a six-ring ceramic hob from CERAN, model PCVE-40DB, complemented by a custom fan hood to ensure optimal ventilation. For efficient cleaning, a Rhima dishwasher, model DR50 S, is included. The galley also offers substantial storage with approximately 1,000 liters of freezer space and an additional 1,000 liters of refrigeration. An ice maker with a capacity of 11.5 kg and a trash compactor complete this professional setup.

In the laundry area, convenience and efficiency are prioritized with an iron table and iron machine, alongside two Miele washing machines, model W 2105, and two Miele tumble dryers, model T 4223 C. This comprehensive setup ensures that all laundry needs are met with ease and precision, maintaining the highest standards of service on board.

Electronics

The yacht is equipped with an extensive array of advanced electronics, ensuring seamless navigation and communication at sea. At the heart of the navigation system is the Navigat X MK2 gyro compass, complemented by a Merkur S-R magnetic compass for precise directional guidance. The vessel is fitted with a Furuno FE-700 echosounder and a Naviknot 350E speedlog, providing accurate depth and speed readings. For positioning, the GP 150 GPS receiver is utilized, while radar capabilities are enhanced with the Furuno FAR 2117 and a second radar system, the Furuno NavNet II.

Communication is robust, featuring an RT 5022 VHF radio telephone and a Thrane & Thrane TT 3000E Inmarsat C system. The yacht is also equipped with a Furuno NX 700B Navtex receiver and Jotron TR 20 GMDSS portable transceivers for safety and information. Emergency systems include a Tron 40S E.P.I.R.B. and a Jotron TronSART radar transponder. The Furuno FA 150 AIS system and Navipilot 4000 autopilot with an electric main steering system ensure smooth and safe navigation.

Further enhancing communication, the yacht includes Sailor FleetBroadBand 250 Inmarsat Fleet Equipment and a Panasonic KXTDA 100 telephone exchange. The Globesurefer II Triple Band GSM and DSC Biscaya antenna system provide reliable connectivity. For navigation, the NaviSailor 3000 electronic chart software is employed, and external communication is facilitated through Livewire connections. The yacht is also equipped with Inventica Yacht Spot external WiFi equipment and six Icom IC-F25SR portable radios for onboard communication.

Entertainment and information are provided by the SeaTel Coastal 30 satellite TV system, ensuring guests have access to a wide range of channels while at sea. This comprehensive suite of electronics ensures that the yacht is well-prepared for any journey, offering both safety and convenience to its passengers.

Electrical system

The yacht's electrical system is robust and meticulously designed to meet the specific needs of its consumers and systems, all in accordance with ABS rules. At the heart of this system are twin Kohler generators, each providing 99KW of power. These generators operate in parallel mode automatically, ensuring a seamless and reliable power supply. The system operates on a 24v - 230/400 VAC, 3 phase 50Hz configuration, which is ideal for the yacht's diverse electrical demands.

For shore power, a 65-meter shore cable is conveniently located in the lazarette, equipped with a Hubbel power cord connection, allowing for easy and efficient connection to shore-based power sources. This comprehensive electrical setup ensures that all onboard systems function smoothly, providing comfort and convenience to all passengers.

Mechanical equipment

The yacht is equipped with a sophisticated array of mechanical equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. At the core of its propulsion system is the ZF4660 gearbox, paired with Shaffran 5-bladed propellers and Amartech shafts, providing smooth and efficient movement through the water. The Trydo steering gear offers precise control, while the Marquip exhaust systems ensure efficient engine operation.

For stability, the yacht features Naiad zero speed stabilizers, which are effective even when at anchor, enhancing comfort for all on board. Anchoring is managed by the Maxwell 8000 windlass, and maneuverability is further enhanced by a Kalkman 60KW tunnel bow thruster. The custom-built passerelle by Prozee in Holland adds a touch of bespoke craftsmanship, while the yacht's lifting needs are met by a Prozee custom crane in the lazarette and an Opacmare crane on the foredeck.
