Overview
1932 Gar Wood Triple Cockpit. Built in 1932 with a production of only seven, just five are believed to survive today. This Antique Wooden Boat, a Classic Yacht and Vintage Runabout, lived in our care for many years until its owner relocated to Michigan, after which our colleagues at Van Dam oversaw it. When the present owner first obtained the boat, a Scripps V-12 had been installed. He later sourced the original, serial-number-matched Scripps 206 six-cylinder, which we refitted several seasons ago to return authenticity. A custom Loadmaster trailer was commissioned as well, complementing this collectible Motor Yacht and luxury triple-cockpit runabout.
Detailed Description
Description
A rare 1932 Gar Wood Triple Cockpit of exquisite provenance, one of only seven built that year and one of only five known to exist today, preserved with care and authenticity. Under our long-term stewardship until the owner’s move to Michigan, it has since been attentively maintained by the renowned craftsmen at Van Dam, ensuring its integrity and luster endure. When the current owner first acquired the boat, it was fitted with a Scripps V-12; later, he sourced the original, serial-number-matching Scripps 206 six-cylinder engine, which we reinstalled several years ago to return this masterpiece to its correct heart and pedigree. Completing the offering is a custom-fabricated Loadmaster trailer, tailored for secure transport and confident showings, so this distinguished triple cockpit can travel as gracefully as it runs.

Propulsion
Power comes from a 1932 Scripps 206, a six-cylinder inboard rated at 225 hp, driving through a direct-drive transmission on gasoline to a three-blade bronze propeller—an authentic, impeccably matched setup that delivers smooth thrust with period-correct character.
Specifications
With proportions that flatter both performance and poise, the boat measures 28 ft in length overall with an 8 ft beam, providing generous seating for 8. Range-ready practicality is enhanced by a single 60-gallon steel fuel tank, balancing authentic specification with real-world usability.
