Overview

The standout attribute of this 68 Hargrave is its sweeping open-concept main deck, delivering an unobstructed sightline from bow to stern and true panoramic views at every turn. A full-beam, open-plan salon and galley, paired with Hargrave’s generous seven feet of headroom, impart the volume and presence of a much larger luxury motor yacht. Inside, refined comfort reigns with plush linens, gleaming granite worktops, and satin-finished cherry joinery that impart a warm, contemporary elegance. Beyond the interior, the exterior living areas are equally expansive and welcoming, crafted for effortless relaxation and gracious entertaining underway or at anchor. Al fresco dining is a pleasure on the shaded aft deck or the broad flybridge, where built-in seating and large tables set the stage for memorable gatherings. Open all the way aft, the flybridge becomes a sun-soaked retreat, while offering ample capacity for a 14' RIB easily handled by a robust 1,600 lb hydraulic davit. Ideal as a flybridge yacht for bluewater passages, coastal cruising, or luxury charter, she blends performance with poise and the ease of a premium cruising yacht. A comprehensive round of upgrades completed between late 2020 and early 2022 further enhances this elegant, turn-key vessel.

Detailed Description

Upgrades

Thoughtfully refitted for effortless cruising, Showtime now boasts Garmin electronics at both helm stations; a Naiad stabilizer system professionally rebuilt with new pumps, hydraulics, and hoses; new isinglass on the flybridge; and fresh carpeting throughout complemented by new furniture in the Main Salon. The 1,000‑hour engine service was completed in January 2021, followed by a comprehensive mechanical refresh in May 2022 that included all eight engine mounts replaced, new impellers on the main engines with spares, and fully serviced struts and rudders that were mounted and balanced. New aftercoolers—cores, housings, seals, and gaskets—were installed, props were tuned and balanced, and paint repairs were carried out around the boat. Two new batteries and new mattresses were added, all running gear was serviced including straightening the shafts, and a fresh bottom job with PropSpeed was applied. Comfort upgrades included a new air handler in the Master stateroom, and in 2023 a new Dockmate yacht controller was integrated for fingertip docking control. These and other numerous upgrades amount to over $225,000 in recent expenditures to ensure that “Showtime” is in the best possible condition for her new owners.

Main salon

A welcoming sanctuary of light and style, the Main Salon features a 42-inch Samsung TV paired with a media center that includes a Sony 5‑disc CD player and a Sony surround sound receiver. New sofa and chairs installed in 2021 invite relaxation beside expansive windows with open views, dressed in silky Roman shades with new valances and softly accented by indirect lighting beneath. Fresh 2021 carpeting and warm LED illumination complete the ambiance, creating a refined space for effortless entertaining.

Aft deck

Underfoot teak sets the tone on the aft deck, where a teak dining table with five chairs and a generous cushioned bench welcomes alfresco gatherings. Entertainment is close at hand with a Samsung TV, while discreet storage keeps the Marquipt ladder neatly housed and ready whenever needed.

Galley

Designed for culinary ease and elegant living, the galley presents rich cherry wood cabinetry crowned by granite countertops and served by ample counter space and storage. Two barstools tuck beneath the breakfast counter, while a teak-and-holly sole brings classic yacht warmth. Cold storage is abundant with two under‑counter Maxximum refrigerators (MAXBC52SD, new 2021) and an additional under‑counter freezer, complemented by an icemaker and twin black Dacor warming ovens. A GE four‑burner cooktop, GE Profile dishwasher, GE garbage disposal, and GE Profile microwave convection oven complete a capable, impeccably finished working kitchen.

Wheelhouse

The wheelhouse blends command and comfort with a portside dinette suitable for about three to four guests, a supple leather settee, and a high‑gloss teak table, all facing a large captain’s chair and Raymarine depth display. Port and starboard doors open to the walk‑around side decks, while an all‑new 2021 Garmin suite—networked seamlessly between the flybridge and wheelhouse—anchors the helm alongside two new ICOM VHF radios with hailers. Naiad stabilizers, a Simrad autopilot, and Bennett trim tabs round out confident passage control, and starboard stairs lead down to the owner’s and guest staterooms.

Foyer

The lower foyer is both practical and polished, with a Bosch washer and dryer (new 2021) integrated beside a coffee bar finished with granite countertops, all set over new 2021 carpeting that ties the accommodations together with quiet luxury.

Master cabin

A serene owner’s retreat, the master cabin centers on a walk‑around king berth framed by a padded headboard and a dramatic mirrored backdrop. Fine wood joinery with custom column details and Majilite‑upholstered walls elevate the atmosphere, while two large cedar‑lined closets provide generous wardrobe space. To port, drawers and display counters sit beneath the portholes; to starboard, a dedicated vanity invites quiet moments. Entertainment includes a 32‑inch Samsung TV and a Sony 5‑disc CD player. Indirect lighting under the valances and new 2021 carpeting complete the ambiance, and a private ensuite head awaits just steps away.

Master head:

Elegantly appointed with granite floors and counters, the master head features his‑and‑her sinks, a full‑size shower with lacquered walls, and ample storage throughout, including overhead cabinets and a towel bar above the head for thoughtful convenience.

Vip cabin

The forward VIP pampers guests with a walk‑around queen berth topped by a custom memory‑foam mattress and a padded headboard, flanked by hanging closets to port and starboard. Indirect lighting under the valances and new 2021 carpeting enrich the setting, while a new A/C unit (2021) ensures personalized comfort. A private ensuite head completes this inviting suite.

Vip head:

Finished to match the yacht’s refined standard, the VIP head showcases granite floors and counters, a full‑size shower with a granite seat, and high‑gloss lacquered shower walls for a bright, easy‑care finish.

Port guest cabin

Ideal for family or friends, the port guest cabin offers twin berths with custom memory‑foam mattresses, a hanging closet, a Samsung TV, and thoughtful touches including a mirror and portlights that draw in natural light. New 2021 carpeting underlines the fresh feel, while an ensuite head enhances privacy and convenience. Indirect lighting beneath the valances sets a gentle evening mood.

Port guest head

The port guest head continues the theme of quality with granite floors and counters, a full‑size shower with a granite seat, and lacquered shower walls that gleam with a durable, easy‑clean finish.

Crew quarters

Positioned aft of the engine room for optimal access and privacy, the crew quarters accommodate two crew members in over/under bunks and include a full head with a separate stall shower. Climate comfort is assured by a new A/C unit (2021), and a 32‑inch Samsung TV offers welcome downtime between duties.

Flybridge

Beneath a custom fiberglass hardtop, the flybridge is arranged for social cruising with port and starboard seating areas served by two dining tables and a helm station with a dedicated helm chair. Navigation is anchored by one Garmin 8416 16‑inch chartplotter and one 12‑inch Garmin chartplotter, while companion benches to port and starboard expand seating. A Quicklift 1600 hydraulic davit with rotation handles tender duty, protected by new isinglass at the helm (2020). A new dock box adds utility, and a fiberglass service module houses a U‑Line R29 refrigerator/ice maker with a stainless‑steel sink for easy refreshments underway.

Electronics and navigational equipment

A comprehensive helm suite inspires confidence day or night, led by an ACR PCL 100D searchlight and CCTV coverage of the aft deck. Dual Simrad Autopilot 20 stations—an RPU 80‑equipped primary at the upper helm and a second station at the lower helm—work alongside KVH TracVision 4 DVB for entertainment at anchor or underway. Engine room awareness is enhanced by an Elbex EXC9/4 BW wide‑angle fixed black‑and‑white camera with dedicated pigtail connector and power supply. An ACR spotlight is fitted with upper and lower controls. Navigation is delivered through two 12‑inch Garmin 8612 chartplotters and one 16‑inch Garmin 8416 chartplotter on the flybridge, supported by new ICOM 423 and ICOM M605 VHF radios with hailers. A Garmin AIS transceiver is fully networked into the Garmin system, and a Garmin Fantom 54 radar paints targets with authority. All plotters are networked between the wheelhouse and flybridge and connected to the engines for live data reporting to the screens.

Engine/mechanical equipment

Precision handling begins with a Naiad HPS 10HT bow thruster rated at 25 HP on a single hydraulic reservoir, paired to Naiad 254 stabilizers with 7.5‑square‑foot fins that were rebuilt in 2021 with new pumps, hydraulics, and hoses. Power management is robust thanks to two Onan 27 kW generators (port 3044 hours, starboard 3053 hours) and a Glendinning Cablemaster at the stern with 100‑amp service and a white 100‑foot cord. Each main engine benefits from dual Racor 1000 FG fuel filter/water separators, turning two three‑quarter‑inch stainless‑steel shafts and two five‑blade Nibral propellers. A Sea Recovery 600 gpd watermaker sustains extended cruising, with spare prop storage thoughtfully located in the crew area. Hydraulic Hynautic steering integrates easily with the autopilot, while stainless‑steel rudders, underwater exhaust with idle bypass, and both 12V lighting with 110V outlets and 24V lighting with 220V outlets enhance utility in the machinery spaces. Fluorescent lighting over the aft generator, a Cruisair air‑conditioning/heating system, and a 125‑gallon holding tank for the heads with an indicator at the helm add comfort and convenience. Noise and heat insulation is doubled for a quieter ride. The sanitation suite features four Sealand heads on a single pump with a Sealand macerator and two Rule sump pumps; fire safety is bolstered by two Seafire extinguisher systems with manual discharge (up to date). Mechanical details include Tide Marine dripless shaft seals, gleaming Awlgrip finish in the engine room, an oil‑change system for main engines, gears, and generator, Hynautic twin throttle and clutch controls, two Jet Pack 110 water pumps, upgraded electrical outlets (2021), and an EPIRB for offshore readiness.

Electrical system

Shipwide Vimar light switches and a meticulously organized main electrical panel—with separate AC power control and AC breaker sections—set the tone for reliability. House and engine systems draw from eight 200‑amp‑hour batteries, while the generators enjoy two separate 120‑amp‑hour starting batteries secured in enclosed, acid‑proof fiberglass boxes with covers. Dedicated 12V DC and 24V DC monitoring and main breaker panels provide clear oversight, and 110V duplex receptacles are thoughtfully placed throughout. Indirect lighting under valances enriches the salon and staterooms, as one set of Bennett trim tabs measuring 42 by 12 inches with gauges fine‑tunes ride attitude. Color‑coded wiring eases service, a 100‑amp galvanic isolator adds protection, and Dolphin battery chargers—one 80‑amp and two 30‑amp units—keep reserves topped up, assisted by Dolphin AC/DC light transformers. Safety and utility round out with an engine alarm system for low oil pressure and high temperature, four engine‑room blowers, an ACR searchlight, and an electric windlass paired to a new Rocna 75 anchor that was inspected and marked in 2021.

Deck equipment

Forward, two upper bow lockers provide convenient storage, while an FRP/AIM watertight transom door grants secure crew access. A stainless‑steel sliding door opens from the aft deck into the salon, and up top a heavy‑duty half‑inch Lexan Venturi windshield and Lexan access hatch to the bridge offer clarity and strength. Teak graces the aft deck and the steps down to the swim platform, where four U‑shaped stanchions, a Quicklift 1600 hydraulic davit with rotation, and a built‑in hot/cold shower stand ready for waterside living. Remote windlass operation is available from both bridge and lower helm, and a swim platform ladder with teak steps eases every return aboard.

Structural

Beneath her elegant lines lies a V‑shaped keel with longitudinal stringers and a hand‑laid molded fiberglass hull. Stringers are foam‑cored for rigidity and bonded to the hull with multiple layers of glass cloth and resin, while the deck and superstructure also employ foam‑cored reinforcement beneath fiberglass skins. Interior structural components, including bulkheads and frames, are fully bonded to the hull, and foam‑cored sandwich deck construction adds strength without excess weight. Non‑skid decks promote secure footing, stainless‑steel oval portholes brighten the accommodations, and handrail stanchions and fittings in 316‑alloy stainless steel underscore lasting quality. Safety rails encircle both main engines, and an aft‑deck fiberglass escape hatch with a stainless‑steel folding ladder provides an assured emergency egress.
