Detailed Description

Recent upgrades

A thoughtful program of recent upgrades underscores diligent care. The MAN 1,000-hour A1/A2 service was completed in winter 2023, while three new 230-volt 60 Hz Smart Start chiller systems with fresh pumps were installed the same season. A new inverter/charger, new cockpit, transom, and windshield covers, and new interior sole board runners were also fitted in winter 2023. The hull received a full paint refresh in winter 2021.

Deck features

Purposeful detailing defines the deck, where molded non-skid on the side decks and cabin housetop ensures confident footing, and a smooth gelcoat finish on the vertical faces of the deck, house, waterways, and pilothouse top provides a crisp, yacht-quality sheen. Tapered varnished teak toe rails carry the signature Hinckley profile. The foredeck integrates a molded anchor locker with a hinged, gas-spring-assisted hatch, and a hydraulic Muir windlass mounted in a custom anchor well with controls at both helm stations and a remote. A custom lighted 316L stainless steel bow roller eases night retrieval of the primary ground tackle, a Manson Supreme 80 lb anchor linked to 300’ of stainless chain. In the foredeck locker, both a saltwater deck wash and a fresh-water spigot stand ready. Natural light and ventilation are abundant courtesy of eight opening portlights with screens and nine opening Bowmar overhead hatches in stainless frames, each hatch complemented by bug screens and shades. Thoughtful touches abound, from custom step lights to a 30" high 316L stainless steel bow rail. Mooring hardware is comprehensive, with two open custom Hinckley stainless steel bow chocks, four closed custom Hinckley chocks, and ten 316L stainless steel cleats encompassing bow, stern, and spring line duties, with 12" bow and stern cleats and 10" springline cleats. The cockpit benefits from direct overboard drainage scuppers, while Wichard folding pad eyes and chafe strips by the stern cleats streamline fender and dock line handling. Custom Hinckley fender lockers are neatly integrated into the side decks, and a huge foredeck locker swallows bulky gear with ease. A custom Hinckley aluminum mast completes the profile. In the cockpit, the teak sole and varnished teak coamings set a timeless tone. A large cockpit sole hatch on recessed hinges lifts with manual hydraulic risers for easy access to the generator and jet system and ample stowage. Two Glendinning powered shore cord reels exit the transom through a flush hatch for a clean, professional finish.

Cockpit features

Under-cocking coaming courtesy lighting sets the evening tone, complemented by a safety light on the cockpit step. A cockpit shower with a hot/cold mixing valve is thoughtfully positioned by the transom door for easy rinsing. Shore-side convenience includes a dockside water supply inlet and shore cable TV/phone inlet, while lockers under the port and starboard cockpit coamings keep lines and gear neatly stowed.

Flybridge

The flybridge is crowned by a hard bimini set on a polished aluminum frame, its canvas top integrating discreet lighting for evenings underway or at anchor. A fully custom-designed masthead provides robust, elegant support for the associated antennas and cameras.

Accommodations

A generous, fully custom U-shaped dinette to starboard embraces a varnished cherry table with a fold-out leaf, inviting relaxed dining and conversation. Opposite to port, a matching custom U-shaped settee without a table forms a comfortable, social counterpoint. Forward, the entertainment center reveals a large “pop-up” flat-screen television with a concealed HDTV satellite receiver, while an adjacent bar area with storage below and a U-Line ice maker adds refined hospitality.

Lower helm

The lower helm is comprehensively equipped for confident command, featuring the Hinckley “JetStick” system with manual override backup and smooth electronic throttle controls. Navigation and situational awareness are delivered by two Garmin 7215 displays, MAN engine control panels, FLIR remote camera control, and an ACR remote spotlight control. Communications and systems management include an Icom IC-M604 VHF with Command Mic III, AutoSet Lectrotab control, a Raymarine ST70 display, and an AutoAnchor AA560 control, complemented by an Iridium phone. Comfort and ship’s status are monitored via the master air-conditioning control panel along with fuel and water gauges.

Upper helm

The upper helm mirrors the primary controls with electronic throttle controls, two Garmin 7215 displays, MAN engine control panels, FLIR remote camera control, ACR remote spotlight control, an AutoAnchor AA560 control, an Icom CommandMic III VHF, a Raymarine ST70 display, AutoSet Lectrotab control, and a Ritchie Powerdamp compass. Surrounding joinery is richly executed, with raised-panel cherry doors and cherry-sheathed cabin liners. Large overhead hatches carry Ocean Air screens and shades, while opening ports with custom screens draw in additional breezes. Reverse-cycle air conditioning maintains perfect climate control. Custom lighting throughout blends halogen swivel fixtures with Cantalupi Cupid satin-nickel bulkhead lamps on rheostat controls. Interior cushions are finished in Spinneybeck Blue UltraLeather with antler buttons, and most countertops throughout are custom in beautiful Honey Onyx stone. Moving aft, cedar-lined hanging lockers to port and starboard provide generous wardrobe space.

Galley

The galley is thoughtfully outfitted for gourmet cruising with a Kenyon two-burner electric cooktop and a Sharp stainless-steel microwave/convection oven mounted above the sink. A Broan trash compactor and a polished stainless under-mounted sink with a single-lever sprayer faucet pair with a hot and cold pressure fresh-water system. Cold storage includes two U-Line refrigeration drawers with cherry faces and a lighted cold-plate freezer box, complemented by a 110-volt AC ice maker in a locker below the companion helm seat. Over-counter lighting with a dimmer sets the mood, while dedicated controls for AirCon and the Sea Recovery watermaker sit close at hand. Storage is intelligently arranged, including service for eight and an inboard locker with adjustable shelves.

Master suite

The master suite centers on a forward-facing queen berth on the centerline with an innerspring mattress and storage drawers beneath. A custom settee anchors the forward bulkhead, with dressers to port and starboard topped in Honey Onyx stone. Aft on each side, cedar-lined hanging lockers offer ample wardrobe space. A Samsung TV is bulkhead-mounted above the settee and faces the bed. Illumination is beautifully curated, with custom halogen swivel art lighting over the owner’s bunk to highlight pieces on the bulkhead, overhead lighting on a dimmer circuit, and bulkhead-mounted fixtures forward and aft, complemented by two bulkhead-mounted fans and discreet reverse-cycle AC/heat vents. Storage abounds in lockers and drawers to port and starboard. Fresh air and starry nights are invited by four opening ports with screens and a large centerline Bomar hatch with a screen and blackout shade. Entertainment is delivered by a 32" Samsung TV/monitor paired with an HDTV satellite TV/DVD/Blu-ray receiver and stereo speakers.

Master head

The master head presents a stainless sink with a Grohe faucet and a separate stall shower fitted with a Grohe single-lever mixing valve. A Sealand Vacu-flush marine toilet plumbs directly to a 100-gallon holding tank that can be emptied via a deck fitting or discharged overboard through the Sealand macerator pump to an approved facility. Daylight and privacy are managed by an opening portlight with a screen and a Bowmar overhead opening hatch with a screen and blackout shade. A full-length mirror, overhead lighting on a dimmer (except within the shower), and practical storage outboard and beneath the sink round out the space.

Guest stateroom

The guest stateroom is warmly appointed with an 110-volt outlet, overhead lighting on a dimmer, and a reverse-cycle AC/heat control pad for personalized comfort. Bulkhead-mounted lighting, rope lighting, and dedicated reading lamps extend the ambiance. Natural ventilation arrives via two opening ports with screens and an overhead opening Bowmar hatch complete with a screen and blackout shade.

Guest head

The guest head is fitted with a Sealand VacuFlush marine toilet plumbed directly to a 100-gallon holding tank, which may be emptied via a deck fitting or discharged overboard through the Sealand macerator pump to a reception facility. The stall shower closes with Lucite doors and uses a Grohe single-lever mixing valve. An opening portlight with a screen and a Bowmar opening overhead hatch with a screen and blackout shade manage light and privacy. Overhead lighting is on a dimmer except in the shower, and storage is provided outboard and beneath the sink, complemented by custom towel racks. For extended cruising convenience, an ASKO front-loading full-sized washer and dryer are plumbed to the sump tank, and this area adds a built-in hanging locker and additional cedar-lined storage compartments, together with an opening Bowmar hatch with a screen and blackout shade.

Electrical

A robust electrical architecture blends 120/240 volts AC with a 24 volts DC system. Starting power is delivered by four BCI Group 31 AGM batteries serving the main engines and generator, while the house loads draw from four BCI Group 31 AGM batteries in the main house bank. Heavy-duty battery switches for port and starboard engines include the ability to parallel the start batteries. Charging is assured by two 100-amp 24-volt DC Balmar alternators and two 24-volt DC battery chargers. Shore input provides 240 volts AC with a dedicated 12-volt DC electronics panel, and shipwide illumination includes 12-volt lighting. Connectivity is simplified with two 120/240 volts AC 50-amp power inlets and a custom 12-volt cockpit outlet tucked under the starboard forward teak coaming. System awareness is enhanced by a Link 10 battery monitor, while two Glendinning powered shore cord reels handle cables with push-button ease. A custom lighted circuit breaker panel with a smoked-glass cover, meters, switches, and indicator lights centralizes control. The bonding system follows ABYC practice with common wire bonding and a minimum branch size of #8 AWG. Power at sea comes from a Westerbeke 240 volts AC 12 kW generator, Model 12 OBTDC, housed in a sound shield and controlled by a remote panel with starting gauges.

Engine room

The engine room is purpose-built for quiet strength, with faced foam/composite insulation sheathed in metal on visible surfaces and double gaskets on the access door. Engine air intake de-misters at both vents are baffled and insulated, and four cage-protected lights brighten service areas. Propulsion is formidable: twin MAN D2842 LE404 diesel engines rated at 1360 hp each drive two Hamilton 403 water jets through Twin Disc MG‑5145SC transmissions. Fuel is polished by Racor fuel-water filters with pressure gauges, water sensors, petcocks, and drain tubes. Exhaust is routed underwater with a low-speed bypass, and close-quarters authority is enhanced by a Side Power hydraulic bow thruster and power-assist steering. Protections include alarms for low engine oil pressure and high coolant temperature. A reversible 24-volt DC oil transfer pump services the main engines, transmissions, and generator, fed by a custom 5-gallon oil reservoir. Domestic systems are equally robust: fresh hot and cold pressurized water; 24‑VDC main and backup pumps supplying the galley, shower, head, and cockpit shower; two automatic 24‑volt DC sump pumps for the showers, washing machine, and air-conditioning condensate; and four Rule 24‑volt DC electric 3500‑GPH bilge pumps with ULTRA automatic float switches, backed by a high-water bilge alarm. Deck care is simplified by a saltwater deck-wash pump with hose connections near the anchor roller. Hot water is provided by a 17‑gallon marine-insulated stainless steel heater, while a 100‑gallon aluminum holding tank and a 200‑gallon stainless steel fresh-water tank extend autonomy. For long-range living, a washer and dryer pair with a Sea Recovery watermaker.

Safety equipment

Safety systems inspire confidence with a Fireboy fire suppression system that triggers automatic engine shutdown. Fire preparedness includes four 2‑lb Type B‑1 fire extinguishers rated for Class A, B, and C fires. Night operations are supported by a remote-controlled spotlight atop the pilothouse and an aft-deck floodlight mounted on the mast. The Kahlenberg 24‑volt DC dual-trumpet air horn sounds authority at the helm, and a 24‑volt DC searchlight with remote control extends visibility. Rounding out the suite are assorted life jackets, full navigation lights, and a Coast Guard safety package.

Construction

Hinckley DualGuard composite hull construction combines a Kevlar/E-glass outer skin with a balsa and Corecell core and a carbon fiber inner skin, all infused with vinylester resin via the Seaman Composite Resin Infusion Molding Process (SCRIMP) for exceptional strength, stiffness, and finish. The deck employs an E-glass skin with balsa and Corecell core, laminated with vinylester resin using SCRIMP, delivering a superior surface finish, outstanding osmosis resistance, high stiffness and stiffness-to-weight ratios, greater impact strength, and thermal insulation. Below the waterline and where appropriate above, non-metallic composite thru-hulls with ball-valve seacocks are specified, while the propulsion engines use bronze seacocks, thru-hulls, and sea strainers. The rub rail is capped by a stainless steel half-round over a fiberglass molding. A painted swim platform matches the hull color and features teak decking inserts, a stainless half-round, and a stainless telescoping three-step swim ladder concealed beneath.
