Detailed Description
Overview
Step below to a thoughtfully crafted interior where the forepeak houses a chain locker tucked behind a louvered door and a large V-berth forward appointed with blue fabric interior cushions, generous storage beneath, and bookshelves outboard. To port, cedar-lined hanging lockers and side drawers flank the space, complemented by additional louvered storage below and a closing teak door. The head lies to starboard, featuring a marine head with holding tank, a teak drop-down shower seat, a louvered teak locker behind the toilet, a hot/cold pressure-water shower wand, and a vanity sink with single-lever faucet and mirror, with storage beneath and a double GFI outlet. A second cedar-lined hanging locker to port with storage above meets you in the main cabin, where two teak overhead handholds, a teak and holly cabin sole, and 6'3" headroom create a warm, capable saloon. Here a single berth to port offers storage behind in lockers and bookshelves, while a drop-down, bulkhead-mounted teak double table conceals additional storage behind. To starboard, a slide-out double berth pairs with its own storage locker and bookshelves. The large U-shaped galley to port at the base of the stairs serves as a true seagoing workspace: many drawers and cubbies, sliding compartments for plates, glasses, and cutlery, a deep dry storage area, and a fold-up section for extra counter space frame a large double-door deep icebox with shelves, a 2-burner gimbaled stove with oven and pot-and-pan storage beneath, a teak paper towel holder overhead, and a double stainless steel sink with single-lever hot/cold faucet, hand-pump cold water, and rinse sprayer. To starboard at the base of the stairs, the navigation station features a fold-up chart table that also lifts to form a wall creating a separate aft cabin, with an accordion folding door to convert the aft berth into a private cabin and a large quarterberth beyond. Engine access is under the stairs, and ventilation and light abound through 9 opening ports and 4 Lewmar opening hatches with screens. Safe, secure ingress is assured by 3-part teak Island Packet companionway boards with a locking hasp, a teak hatch board holder, and teak companionway steps with handholds.
On deck, the yacht is cutter-rigged with a teak-over-fiberglass bow platform carrying double bow rollers, 2 bronze dock line chocks, and 2 bow cleats, all set behind high bulwarks on a two-tone non-skid deck. Sailhandling is confidence-inspiring with a Harken roller furler on the headstay, an inner forestay, a split backstay, 3 sidestays each side, a single spreader, and a masthead rig, plus a hank-on staysail with a self-tending boom. Substantial teak detailing includes a caprail, a rubrail with stainless steel strake, a cabin-side accent, and handrails atop the cabin, with Genoa tracks mounted on the caprail. The stainless steel bow rail and stern rail, double lifelines with gates to port and starboard, and a stern-rail swim ladder reinforce safety and access. Control comes easily via a Lewmar cabin-top traveler, 2 Lewmar #40 2-speed primary winches, 1 Lewmar #7 single-speed cabin-top winch, and 2 Lewmar #7 single-speed mast winches for halyards, with all Lewmar blocks for sheets and halyards, a boom vang, teak cleats for Genoa sheets, and a teak cleat for the mainsheet. The helm blends precision and tradition with rack-and-pinion steering and a spoke wheel, while 2 large cockpit lockers absorb gear. Engine instruments reside on the inner coaming, engine controls on the binnacle beside a Gemini compass. Comfort and serviceability are ensured by a grey Sunbrella dodger and frame (2006), a large engine access panel in the cockpit floor, a beautiful fold-down teak cockpit table on the pedestal with a matching teak drink holder, a separate propane locker, cockpit cushions, a cold-water rinse shower in the cockpit, and a manual bilge pump. Below the waterline, the hull is protected with red Micron Extra bottom paint.
Electronics and systems are comprehensive, including a Datamarine knotmeter with speed/log, a Datamarine depthsounder with alarm, and a Datamarine wind speed/direction/AWD display, alongside a Standard Horizon VHF radio, a new Garmin chartplotter (still in the box), and a Regency Polaris AM/FM/cassette stereo with speakers. Power management comes via 2 batteries, a battery charger, and 110v shore power with cord, while an electric bilge pump, a hot water tank, and 12 adjustable reading lights below elevate comfort and autonomy.
The sail inventory by Sobstad is ready for miles: a full-batten Dacron mainsail from 2004, a Genoa with UV Dacron for roller furling from 2004, and a hank-on Dacron staysail from 2004, all supported by a mainsail cover.
Rounding out the offering is a thoughtful suite of additional gear: Custom Covers & Canvas fully fitted winter storage cover with frames, a dodger, a bimini, fenders, docklines, an anchor, fire extinguishers, a brass gimbaled kerosene lamp, a brass ship’s bell, a brass barometer, a brass clineometer, a boat hook, lifejackets, USCG safety gear, and a 6-post steel storage cradle.
