The Lagoon 450F is a celebrated cruising catamaran renowned for its generous volume and clever use of space. Meticulously cared for and privately enjoyed, the owner’s version of St Andrews blends elegance with practicality, featuring a commanding flybridge helm, inviting lounging and dining zones, and a refined three-cabin layout tailored for long-range voyaging. As a luxury multihull and flybridge sailing catamaran, she delivers effortless bluewater performance with the comfort and poise of a true liveaboard yacht.
EU VAT is paid, and her systems are specified for independence and ease at sea: an Onan 11 kVA generator paired with a Victron inverter-charger, an 80 L/h watermaker, and a solar array of 3 x 150 W. Ground tackle is handled by an electric windlass with chain counter, while a comprehensive Raymarine package—radar, AIS, and autopilot—supports confident offshore navigation. Entertainment is elevated by a Bose sound system with Bluetooth and a saloon TV, and the galley is fully appointed with refrigerator, freezer, and microwave. Air-conditioned cabins enhance comfort in every climate. A tender with a 20 HP Honda outboard sits securely on dedicated davits, and recent care includes antifoul in 2023 (next due 2025). Ready for immediate use, St Andrews is a standout bluewater cruiser and performance cruising catamaran that embodies the sophistication and capability discerning sailors seek.
Detailed Description
Full specification
Crafted in France by Lagoon to the celebrated design of Van Peteghem–Lauriot Prévost, this 2013-build, 2014-launched Lagoon 450F is a sailing catamaran of white GRP with GRP decks, catamaran hull form, hydraulic steering and a commanding flybridge helm position. Construction is in fibre glass (GRP) with the reassuring simplicity and strength for bluewater cruising, while the helm on the flybridge offers superb sightlines and effortless control.
At 13.96 m LOA with the same length on the waterline, she carries a generous 7.87 m beam for outstanding stability and volume, drawing just 1.30 m to open up shallow anchorages. Displacement is 11,985 kg and air draft is available upon request.
Power comes from twin Yanmar 4JH5 CE diesels at 54 HP each on Z‑drives with sea‑water cooling and folding propellers for efficient sailing. An Onan 11 kVA (220V) generator supports hotel loads, with the last engine service completed in 2023. Cruising and maximum speeds are available upon request.
Tankage is optimised for independence at sea: fuel is split across 2 x 500 L stainless steel tanks for a total of 1000 L; fresh water is carried in 4 x 175 L PVC tanks totalling 700 L; and holding is managed by 3 x 83 L PVC tanks for a total of 250 L.
The electrical system is thoughtfully specified with 3 x 140 Ah domestic batteries (May 2022), 2 x 100 Ah engine starter batteries (May 2016), a Victron 3 kVA inverter and Victron charger, an Onan 11 kVA generator, and solar support via 3 x 150 W panels. Shore power connection is fitted, with a shore power cable included onboard.
Her rig is set up for easy handling, featuring a square‑top configuration with standing rigging from 2014. The mainsail and genoa are both 2014 in good condition. Stack‑pack and lazy jacks details are available upon request. Fold‑out mast steps add practical access aloft.
Navigation and instrumentation are by Raymarine, including chart plotter, GPS, radar, AIS, autopilot, wind instrument, masthead wind indicator, echo sounder, and log/speed. A handheld barometer complements the suite, with compass details available upon request.
On deck, GRP surfaces are clean and durable, with four davits providing versatility for gear or tender support. Two anchor lockers house two anchors with 100 m of chain/warp, powered by an electric windlass with chain counter. Four winches serve sail handling. Boarding ladder details are available upon request. In the cockpit, there is one table, one shower, and three capacious lockers.
Safety equipment is comprehensive: a six‑man life raft, six life jackets (including AIS units), one lifebuoy, one danbuoy, two floating lights, one EPIRB, three fire extinguishers, one fire blanket, and bilge pumping via one manual and two electric pumps. Gas detector and radar reflector details are available upon request.
The owner’s version layout offers three cabins with three double berths and standing headroom throughout. Finishes include Carbon Beige upholstery, teak flooring, a wood chart table and a wood saloon table, plus four hanging lockers and one dedicated wet locker. Climate control is assured by four air‑conditioning units. There are three electric heads and three showers.
Domestic amenities elevate life aboard: a galley with a pressurised water system, hot water details available upon request, and an 80 L/h water maker, supported by oven, hob, microwave and grill. Refrigeration includes two refrigerators and one freezer. Entertainment is by Bose stereo system and a Bluetooth sound module, with two TVs (main cabin and saloon) and a DVD player.
Canvas inventory includes one bimini, one sail cover and one winter cover. The tender package comprises one dinghy with Honda 20 HP outboard (2014), and tender handling via crane and winch.
Additional touches include a passerelle, a full set of flags, a barometer, shore mooring lines, and a fully stocked kitchen with crockery and cutlery for eight. Extra details encompass navigation chart equipment with electronic sea charts and the included shore power cable.
Title documents and tax status are in order, with a Builder’s Certificate, Bill of Sale and VAT paid in France. Known defects are candidly declared: the house batteries need replacing.
Her story speaks for itself: ten years of confident Mediterranean cruising, carefully maintained with regular servicing and thoughtful upgrades—an inviting, ready‑to‑sail platform for the next chapter.
