Overview

MCP Yachts 106 LE

Speed, frugal fuel burn and true bluewater stamina define the ruggedly elegant yachts from Brazil’s MCP Yachts, and the Limited Edition 106, Mars, captures that ethos with flair. At 32.31 metres, this luxury motor yacht blends assertive, contemporary styling with a 25-knot top speed, while delivering remarkable efficiency and transoceanic range at gentler cruising rates—an enticing proposition for owners seeking a superyacht that is both spirited and sensible.

Before the first plate of aluminium was cut, MCP canvassed the market to pinpoint what modern owners expect. Abundant daylight was paramount, and the team pursued it decisively. “We wanted glass everywhere you look,” notes Manoel Chaves, the yard’s owner, “and with advanced engineering we achieved it without compromise, even though glass is substantial in weight.” The goal was to frame the sea from nearly any vantage point indoors. A Portuguese bridge and a raised pilothouse became guiding elements in the design language, shaping the yacht’s profile and operational poise.

Mars makes a statement from the dock. Transparent bulwarks along the side decks align with floor-to-ceiling glazing in the main salon, delivering seamless sightlines that amplify the connection to the water. Farther forward, as the hull carries its full beam, the bulwark evolves into a crisp fashion plate that elegantly intersects the expansive windows. It’s a distinctive, almost architectural detail that reads as bold yet balanced.

The owner joined the build as the hull neared completion, intent on aluminium for its strength-to-weight advantages and efficiency. The bespoke hull color was chosen to celebrate the metal’s character, gleaming with purpose and polish. Below decks, the material’s benefits multiply: the aluminium structure affords a double bottom, yielding dedicated spaces for black water and fuel tanks that sit low for a reduced center of gravity and superior service access—hallmarks of a thoughtful, ocean-ready superyacht.

MCP delivered Mars to the owner’s brief with conviction and speed, completing the yacht in roughly a year. The client drew on extensive charter experiences to shape a personal, five-stateroom layout: a full-beam master suite forward on the main deck and four generous guest suites below. The master’s ambiance and arrangement mirror the couple’s favorite elements discovered aboard other luxury yachts. A private study at the entry—outfitted with two computers and a television—supports working life at sea. The suite flows into a roomy walk-in wardrobe, a cozy lounge area, and dual en suites forward, anchored by an impressive central rain shower that feels like a private spa.

Originally, the galley lived on the main deck to port, but Mars was destined for frequent day cruising in support of the owner’s business life, so MCP reimagined circulation and service. The result is a clear split between crew/workflow and guest social zones, with professional hospitality handled primarily along the port side. The captain’s cabin was relocated to create a large, lower-deck galley forward, capable of catering comfortably for two- to three-day trips. Just ahead, the crew quarters are clean and efficient, with two cabins accommodating up to six in triple berths, and a shared bathroom with separate shower and WC. A discreet pantry on the main deck seamlessly links the lower galley to guest areas, smoothing service during entertaining.

Starboard becomes the social promenade. Here, guests enjoy a bar and wine cellar, a convivial dining area, and a dayhead adjacent to the light-filled salon. A 75-inch screen is elegantly integrated behind the dining table, and in total 14 displays throughout the yacht keep the owner informed and connected—an ideal arrangement for a modern business-forward lifestyle aboard a luxury motor yacht. A sliding door to starboard opens onto a fold-down balcony with a playful twist: a glass-paneled floor that lets you gaze straight down to the sea, a flybridge yacht flourish that delights every time.

Built to RINA classification and engineered as a truly modern superyacht, Mars is comprehensively automated. Core systems can be managed via tablet or smartphone, with a remote interface that enables engine engagement, bow and stern thruster control, and even full maneuvering from anywhere on deck—or, impressively, from shore. Starting the yacht, easing her off the quay, and sliding her back into the berth can be performed with calm precision, underscoring MCP’s embrace of integrated technology.

From the raised pilothouse, sightlines are commanding, and a proprietary software suite developed by the shipyard aggregates navigation and vessel data in one intuitive environment. Engines, generators, lighting, batteries, pumps and more are monitored and displayed cohesively, interacting with all onboard systems to streamline operation for captain and crew alike—an advantage whether running privately or setting up for future charter service.

Above, the flybridge is a festive open-air salon and sun deck in one. An eight-person dining table, full bar with barbecue, and a lavish spa pool with a cascading waterfall invite lingering afternoons, while gentle misters and an expansive sunpad complete the scene. At water level, the beach club is a true standout, accessed via a broad automatic stern door. Here, a sit-down bar fronts a complete galley, and a dayhead, shower and sauna elevate the experience—a rare and luxurious touch for a yacht in this size range, ideal for at-anchor living and waterside entertaining.

Quiet comfort is intrinsic to the 106 LE’s DNA. Acoustic treatment and robust sound insulation around the engine room help hush low-frequency rumble, reinforcing a serene onboard atmosphere whether the yacht is loafing at displacement speeds or stretching her legs on a brisk coastal passage.

Performance is delivered by twin 1,825 hp Caterpillar C32 ACERT V12s, giving Mars enviable flexibility. At 10.5 knots, she offers an approximate 4,000-nautical-mile cruising range while sipping a total of about 87 litres per hour—an impressive figure for an aluminium yacht of this scale. When time matters, a fast cruise of 20 knots and a 25-knot sprint flatten the miles, making her a compelling blend of long-range passagemaker and swift, stylish cruiser.

Mars distills MCP’s philosophy into a refined, future-facing package: a RINA-classed luxury superyacht with sweeping glass, a Portuguese bridge and raised pilothouse profile, advanced automation, and a layout that balances discreet crew operation with guest privacy and pleasure. From the panoramic salon and dramatic balcony to the joyful flybridge and resort-like beach club, this bluewater motor yacht delivers a thoroughly modern take on elegance and adventure.
