“Generation X” arrives with the world debut of the new Pershing 5X coupé, unveiled at leading international boat shows. Conceived through close collaboration between the Ferretti Group Engineering Department, the Product Strategy Committee, and the Fulvio De Simoni Design Studio, this performance motor yacht opens a striking new chapter in Pershing’s three-decade story. As an express cruiser and open hardtop sport yacht, the 5X blends cutting-edge design with the brand’s unmistakable DNA.

Exterior design

Measuring 54.2' (16.51 meters) in length with a maximum beam of 14.4' (4.38 meters), the Pershing 5X wears super-sporty lines with a purposeful stance. The sleek, aerodynamic superstructure is accentuated by the brand’s signature side wings that shelter the cockpit, while four windows per side, each paired with elliptical portholes, reinforce the “fighter jet” aesthetic on the water. The result is an expressive open hardtop silhouette that speaks to pure performance.

Aft area and cockpit

An electro‑hydraulic transom platform lowers into the sea at multiple positions, submerging by up to approximately 60 cm to make launching and retrieving the tender effortless. With the door open, the garage is accessible from the beach area, while the cockpit is reached via steps to starboard or a concealable gangway. A generous sunpad with headrest and a second sofa create a relaxed social hub. Glass engineering allows the salon and cockpit to be joined or separated: the glazed panel above the cockpit lifts electrically, and the two‑part glass door operates independently, with the upper section tilting manually toward the overhead and the lower section opening inward to form a secure partition, especially reassuring when children are aboard. This flexible solution lets the deck flow as one open space from bow to stern or be closed off for comfort in changing weather.

Main deck

A refined palette defines the living area, where essential forms and lacquered accents pair with soft grey textiles set against deeper contrasting notes. Grey‑toned oak flooring harmonizes with materials throughout and, aside from the cabins, lends warmth and calm. Abundant natural light pours in from large windows on all four sides, while indirect LED illumination in the ceiling can brilliantly light the interior at night. Forward of the dining and lounge spaces lies the helm station by Besenzoni, styled with a modern, sporty character and crowned by a large sliding glass roof. To port, a compact sofa with chaise lounge completes an inviting, contemporary main deck suited to a luxury express cruiser.

Lower deck

Below sixty feet, the 5X is the first Pershing to offer a full‑beam owner’s suite with en‑suite bathroom and a dinette opposite the galley. Alternatively, a VIP cabin with its own bathroom—usable as a day head—pairs with a dinette facing the galley. Conceived by Fulvio De Simoni and the Ferretti Group Engineering team, these layouts give the 5X its distinct character. Sleeping spaces are dressed with lacquered elements, essentials, and pristine white Vescom wallcoverings, complemented by bedspreads and cushions by Zimmer + Rhode and Casamance; in the master, a pair of decorative lamps by Cini & Nils completes the mood. Bathrooms feature ceramic countertops and basins, with optional mosaic decoration in the shower; on the first unit shown in Cannes, the master bath wore the light grey “Pulsar Chrono” mosaic by Mosaico+. In the galley, Cantalupi LED fixtures illuminate the beautiful Corian Anthrachite surface, echoed on the dinette tabletop, where a foldable table can be specified on request. The C‑shaped sofa unfolds and, with a cushion on top, transforms into a comfortable sofa bed. Two additional fixtures by Fontana Arte finish the ambiance on the lower deck. At the owner’s request, the dinette can be replaced by a third cabin with bunk beds or a crew cabin; choosing the latter provides exterior deck access to ensure guest privacy. This thoughtful flexibility suits a sport yacht as much as a family express cruiser.

Engine and performance

The Pershing 5X offers two distinct propulsion choices, each with a tailored engine‑room layout. Owners can select twin VOLVO IPS950 D11 engines rated at 725 hp with Z‑drives and counter‑rotating propellers, delivering a cruising speed of 30 knots and a maximum of 36 knots (preliminary data), complemented by additional integrated Volvo solutions available on request. Alternatively, twin CAT 12.9 engines at 1,000 hp each pair with Top System 75X surface drives for a cruising speed of 41 knots and a top speed of 45 knots (preliminary data), with the EASYJET system—typically reserved for larger vessels—available as an upgrade. For enhanced low‑speed control, an optional joystick dubbed EASY DOCK debuts on a Pershing for the first time, born from the proven technological partnership between Pershing and Top System; this exclusive feature for the new coupé underscores the 5X’s credentials as a true performance sport yacht and luxury express cruiser.
