Overview
SQUALO, a Sanlorenzo SL86 luxury motor yacht, is conceived to elevate onboard volume and bathe the interior in daylight, creating an open, contemporary feel. A distinctive amidships sheer line and enlarged hull-side glazing deliver sweeping sightlines from the salon, while the foredeck has been reimagined as a chic lounge with sofas, a dining table, generous sunpads, and a removable sail-cover awning for effortless shade. Developed with Officina Italiana Design, this elegant flybridge yacht fuses avant‑garde aesthetics with practical refinement, raising the bar for planing motor yachts within the Sanlorenzo portfolio and capturing the essence of modern Italian yachting.
Equally compelling outdoors, SQUALO’s expansive flybridge invites relaxed entertaining and sunbathing beneath a sleek louvered hardtop, with a tender garage neatly recessed at the transom and a hydraulic lift swim platform for seamless sea access. Engineered for confident performance and supreme comfort, the SL86 is powered by robust MTU M96L engines delivering 1,947 hp, supported by advanced CMC electric fin stabilizers and sophisticated onboard systems that make extended cruising both smooth and stylish. A thoughtfully arranged 4‑cabin layout is complemented by an on‑deck day head, while the yacht’s amplified side windows heighten the sense of space and connection to the sea. Long‑range autonomy is enhanced by a 900‑gallon‑per‑day watermaker and a new 32 kW generator installed in August 2023, ensuring quiet efficiency and effortless living at anchor. Altogether, SQUALO embodies the poise, agility, and luxury expected of a premium flybridge superyacht, where design purity meets intelligent functionality.

Detailed Description
Electrical system
Mounted aft, one Glendinning Cablemaster CM8 streamlines shore connection, supplying 100A shore power for reliable, uninterrupted service throughout the vessel.
Engine room equipment
In the meticulously arranged engine room, a hot water circulation pump ensures instant onboard comfort, a high-capacity watermaker producing 900 gallons per day extends autonomy on long passages, and a frequency converter delivers seamless, reliable power compatibility wherever the voyage leads.
Thrusters and stabilizers
Engineered for unwavering poise at sea, the yacht features Zero Speed electric fin stabilizers that deliver exceptional roll control both at anchor and underway, enhancing comfort in every condition. Precision maneuvering comes effortlessly with the hydraulic stern thruster, providing confident handling and smooth, exact docking in tight quarters.
Alarm and security
An integrated TVCC camera system provides vigilant oversight, with one fixed camera in the Engine Room and another fixed camera in the cockpit for continuous situational awareness. Complementing this coverage, a remote cellular warning system delivers timely alerts via the mobile network to keep you informed and in control wherever you are.
Maneuvering controls
An MTU third fixed control station is strategically positioned in the aft cockpit, delivering precise, intuitive handling for close-quarters maneuvers and confident docking with immediate access to the essential engine controls exactly where they are needed.
Satellite and communication system
At the heart of the yacht’s connectivity is the Simrad Atmosphere integrated package, delivering cohesive navigation, monitoring, and communications across the vessel. This robust backbone is complemented by a second NSO, providing expanded interface options, seamless network redundancy, and confident control from multiple stations for reliable offshore performance and effortless operation.
Audio video
The audio‑video specification detailed below is not discountable, underscoring its premium caliber. In the dining area, sonorization has been elevated with a Sinto amplifier replacement and an additional remote, delivering refined performance and effortless control.
Complements for the exterior
The exterior is meticulously curated to enhance open-air living, beginning with a low-profile main deck that underscores the yacht’s sleek lines. A hard top with an electric-blades opening roof pairs with a bicolor superstructure to deliver versatile shelter and striking visual contrast, while the fly bridge invites leisurely days with a teak floor underfoot and a convenient column shower. At the water’s edge, the standard swim platform benefits from an electro-hydraulic lift system for effortless tender handling and sea access. Natural light pours into the superstructure through a dark fixed skylight, specified in its enlarged version with 600 x 1150 mm external dimensions for the Country kitchen layout, and the bow dinette is finished with a teak floor to complete the seamless, sophisticated ambiance.
Exterior decor
The flybridge is curated with Paola Lenti furnishings, including Cove sunbeds, Cove sofas, Cove platforms, Strappo tables, side-frame side tables, Nido armchairs, an Otto table, decorative pillows, and an additional cushion close to the staircase, complemented by additional Paola Lenti fabric, representing a considered departure from standard furniture and further enhanced by additional Mirto chairs in the cockpit. A custom made bar cabinet on the flybridge in teak and corian elevates the open-air entertaining space, while the cockpit features a custom made table, fixed with bow–stern movement of the top, its varnished teak surface detailed with a beveled hedge and set on a base in satin stainless steel. The hard top is painted like SL 96 and 106, and a predisposition for a backlit boat name is installed with wiring only. Hatch handles are provided as upd vs std socket for whinc. Shade is assured by a bow sun awning with SS poles and a flybridge sun awning with SS poles, the flybridge dashboard is finished in white painting, a manual Hi lo bow table adds versatility, and a Jacuzzi on the flybridge completes the open-air indulgence.
Complements for the interior
An indulgent head shower graces the owner’s bathroom, while electrically actuated decorative curtains elevate both the owner’s bathroom and the salon—excluding the salon’s aft curtain—representing a refined departure from the standard manual movement. An additional door in the crew corridor enhances privacy and workflow, the salon lighting benefits from dimmer control to tailor the ambiance, and discreet televisions are seamlessly concealed behind the mirrors in both the master and VIP cabins.
Interior decor
The interior is elevated by leather upholstery applied throughout the yacht, enveloping the owner’s ceiling, vanity, chaise longue, and aft wall; the beds; the guest and crew staircase walls; the salon cabinet top; and the lower foyer wall, in lieu of standard wood or lacquer. A warm spruce wood palette enriches the walls, doors, cabinets, and wardrobes, departing from the standard wood finishing, while refined touchpoints include Bticino Axolute back‑painted switches and plugs that replace standard fittings. In the bathrooms, Austral Brown marble fashions the floors and the washbasin tops with integrated tops instead of standard marble; it also clads the owner’s shower wall and the lower portion of the wall in the daily bathroom, replacing standard lacquer. An additional Super Tuft Desmo 4312 rug enriches the salon, and Super Tuft Desmo 4312 carpeting extends through the owner, VIP, and guest cabins, upgrading the standard carpet. Olivari Arc handles deliver a tactile upgrade over standard hardware, and an Acerbis dining table provides a distinctive centerpiece in place of the standard table. Horizontal stainless steel strips articulate the furniture in the salon, dining area, and the owner, guest, and VIP cabins, while wood flooring in the lower lobby, salon, and kitchen replaces standard carpet or vinyl. The dining ceiling is executed in wood rather than standard lacquer, and the forward dining wall gains additional backlit Lithos Carrara Rigel-pattern marble panels set within a stainless steel frame. An additional Flos Kelvin table lamp graces the salon, the portside aft lower doors are finished in Rimex Bronze Mirror Stainless instead of standard wood or lacquer, and the guest cabins feature sliding beds for adaptable comfort.
