Following the impact of Hurricane Sandy in 2013, she underwent a comprehensive refit by Hinckley Yacht Services, ensuring she remains in top-notch condition.
Post-refit, Gratitude boasts a complete upgrade from bow to stern, including state-of-the-art electronics, new rudders, and fresh hull and bottom paint. The cockpit was thoughtfully redesigned for enhanced comfort, with the traveler repositioned forward of the dodger. Push-pit seats were added for a touch of luxury, and the running rigging was replaced. An asymmetric spinnaker enhances her sailing capabilities, while her Bimini, Dodger, and cockpit enclosure canvas were renewed in 2021.
Designed by Rob Humphreys and crafted by Northshore Yachts in England, the Southerly 110 is built for ocean crossings. Her variable draft swing keel offers remarkable flexibility, with a shallow draft of just 2 feet 4 inches when raised, and an impressive 7 feet 2 inches when lowered. This adjustable keel allows for exceptional tracking and performance on all points of sail.
SHALLOW DRAFT FREEDOM - With the touch of a button, the keel can be raised, allowing you to explore shallow waters and expand your cruising horizons. This feature grants access to tidal locations, enabling you to berth on the beach, dock in shallow waters, or even lift the yacht.
DEEP DRAFT PERFORMANCE - Lowering the swing keel provides a deep draft, enhancing stability and performance. The yacht becomes stiffer, handles sails more effectively, and navigates windward with precision. The airfoil shape of the keel is highly efficient, allowing for high pointing angles of up to 30 degrees.
