Detailed Description
General description
Here is your opportunity to fish from a true tournament legend. As Scott Shane wrote in Big Game Fishing Journal, May/June 2020, it is an affordable, trailerable, efficient, diesel-powered center console, capable of catching big fish in all sorts of conditions. The Strike 26 is a well-laid-out, trusted design, created and refined by the original builder and current owner, whose South Florida know-how shaped a hull that has earned trophies and prize money at prestigious tournaments from Venezuela and Ecuador to Cozumel and Jamaica. Aggressive offers are invited and will be carefully reviewed by a seriously motivated seller.
The Strike 26 Center Console measures 26’0” overall with an 8’0” beam and a 26” draft, and is built for offshore confidence. Hand-laid solid fiberglass construction carries through the entire boat, with fiber-reinforced plastic over Mantex-core stringers and bulkheads. The top deck and cuddy cabin overhead are also hand-laid, with the overhead aluminum-reinforced for secure rod and reel storage. All hatches, seats, and side panels are reinforced solid fiberglass finished in gelcoat, with a clean, durable interior gelcoat finish over glass. A self-bailing cockpit underscores the boat’s bluewater intent.
Range and reliability come from 150 US gallons of diesel carried in four aluminum tanks with an equalizing manifold, control valve, and proper fuel fills. Power is a John Deere PowerTech 4.5 litre Tier 1 diesel rated at 225 HP, turning through a ZF 220A marine gear with a 1.50:1 ratio to an Aquamet 22 1-1/4” shaft on a stainless steel strut, with stainless rudders, a water-cooled shaft log, and a Michigan three-blade propeller with tip cup. Robust ship systems include cable steering, two heavy-duty Marine Group 31 batteries, two auto/manual bilge pumps plus a sump pump, and a Racor fuel filter and water separator for clean, dependable fuel delivery.
Purposeful fishability is everywhere: Taco outriggers stand ready, an anodized aluminum bow rail adds security forward, and two aluminum Bomar hatches provide direct access—one forward to the anchor gear and one just aft of the foredeck to the cuddy cabin. The fiberglass center console features a hinged seat for easy engine access, while the anodized aluminum T-top integrates an overhead radio cabinet with a smoked plexiglass door and lock. Ground tackle is equally stout with a Danforth anchor, a 6’ vinyl-covered chain running in a stainless anchor chute with roller, and 150’ of nylon line. Comfort and craftsmanship include a console seat cushion and custom cushioned knee pads in the cockpit, a portside tackle locker with drawers and storage finished with teak doors and Awl Grip trim, and on starboard an ice box with a top-loading teak door, a hanging rig locker and storage locker, plus an in-deck fish box forward. Teak cabin doors and the anchor locker door join all exposed and interior teak and trim in a deep Awl Grip high gloss, crowned by a smoked plexiglass windshield.
Command is clear from a raised dash carrying full instrumentation, including a Garmin depth sounder and speed log, a custom Strike instrument panel with compass, and a custom switch panel aft on the center console. Electronics are comprehensive: Garmin GMI 20, Garmin Striker Plus 7/9, an ICOM VHF transceiver Model IC 323 with antenna, a depth finder/sonar/fishfinder suite, and a navigation GPS monitor. Systems monitoring is enhanced by a Maritron monitor system with FFM 100 fuel-flow monitor. Shore power is handled by one Hubble shore cord with adaptor, and a Master Volt 12V Chargemaster keeps the batteries topped and ready.
Prepared for the dock and for safety, she carries four adult life jackets, four Orion flares, one throw cushion, and a handheld air horn with spare air. Mooring gear includes four black Yacht Braid 5/8” x 25’ dock lines and two black Yacht Braid 35’ dock lines. Protection alongside is provided by two black 10” x 24” Deluxe fenders with covers, each supplied with two 12’ x 3/8” tie lines. This Strike 26 blends pedigree, purpose, and proven equipment—an exceptional chance to own a competition-bred center console, with a seller ready to deal.
