Detailed Description
General description
Here is your opportunity to fish from a tournament legend. Reintroduced and, in 2023, considered a “new-build” by the Coast Guard, this diesel battlewagon carries a Lifetime Hull Warranty and is engineered to put you on the leaderboard within moments of the starting gun. As noted by Scott Shane, writer for Big Game Fishing Journal in the May/June 2020 issue: “Affordable, trailerable, efficient, diesel-powered center console, capable of catching big fish in all sorts of conditions.” The Strike 26 is a well-laid-out, trusted design; the current owner and original builder shaped this enduring legacy through deep South Florida know-how, and the Strike 26 hull is widely known for winning trophies and prize money at prestigious tournaments in Venezuela, Ecuador, Cozumel, and Jamaica.
Beyond pedigree, this Strike 26 is comprehensively outfitted. Power comes from a new Cummins GBTA 317 package, backed by a two-year warranty and paired with a matching ZF gearbox, while a generator and air conditioning extend comfort and autonomy offshore. The build quality shows in the plumbing and wiring, the robust two-part epoxy paint, and a generous cuddy cabin. The hand-laid, fiber‑reinforced plastics construction is executed over Mantex Thermo-Lite Board core stringers and bulkheads, and a legacy-level integrity finish graces all interior glasswork. The gelcoat on the top deck, sides, and interior is exceptional, and the cuddy cabin overhead is finished in hand-laid FRP featuring aluminum-reinforced overhead “Arsenal” storage. Range and reliability are assured by 150 gallons of fuel carried in 4 aluminum tanks with a manifold, supported by a Racor fuel filter and water separator. Underneath, stainless steel running gear—struts and rudder—teams with an Aquamet 221 high‑quality stainless steel, water‑cooled 1.5" shaft and a Michigan three‑blade propeller with tip cup for authoritative thrust. Ground tackle includes a Danforth anchor and 6 feet of vinyl‑covered chain deployed through a stainless steel anchor chute. Fishability is amplified by Rupp competition outriggers, an anodized thick‑wall aluminum bow rail, and Bomar aluminum hatches providing forward anchor access and a clean entrance to the cuddy cabin.
At the helm, a custom fiberglass center console is crowned by a custom oversize T‑top fabricated from anodized aluminum and fitted with an oversized radio cabinet. A forward‑facing bench seat on the console is hinged for effortless engine access. The custom Strike instrument panel integrates a compass and Teleflex Morse controls for throttle and shift, while a well‑engineered raised dash gathers instrumentation—including Garmin depth, sounder, speed, and log—into a custom rocker switch panel, all highlighted by a smoked plexiglass windshield. The electronics package includes a Garmin GMI 20 display, a Garmin Striker Plus 7/9 with antenna, and an ICOM VHF transceiver model IC 323. Systems awareness is enhanced by a Maritron FFM100 fuel monitor. Quality custom upholstery is carried through the bolsters, bench seat, helm bench, and the cuddy cabin interior. Forward of the helm to port, custom multi‑drawer tackle storage combines a locker and utility drawer, accented with custom‑milled teak wood drawers, door, and trim; to starboard, a top‑loading teak‑door icebox, a hanging rig locker, and a storage locker/fish box are likewise accented in custom‑milled teak. Custom‑milled teak cuddy cabin doors and trim are finished with an Awl Wood coating that is both durable and easily maintained. A complete safety package includes adult lifejackets, Orion flares, a throwable cushion, a handheld air horn with spare air, braided dock lines, deluxe fenders, and a protective boat covering to keep the elements off your investment.
