Detailed Description

Manufacturer provided description

Sociable by design and swift across a wide cruising range, the Sunseeker Camargue 44 carries a lively party wherever the horizon beckons. Agile and reassuringly stable, she couples surefooted maneuverability with generous living spaces, from a cockpit arranged for eight around a folding dining table to a full-size sunlounger that invites unhurried afternoons. The expansive helm welcomes three alongside the pilot, while a wet bar with fridge, a swim shower and a teak-laid bathing platform transform every anchorage into a private beach club, delivering everything required for daytime fun and nighttime comfort. Below, the saloon is both spacious and sumptuous, with deeply upholstered seating encircling a folding dining table and a palette of attractive lacquered interior finishes and veneers. The galley surprises with its size and comprehensive equipment, making extended cruising effortless. For nights aboard or moments of added privacy, the Camargue 44 provides full cruising comforts for six, with a large forward master stateroom featuring an en suite and an aft twin-berth cabin also en suite, while the saloon readily converts into an additional double berth.

Equipment list

Sunseeker Camargue 44 Specifications — Standard Equipment. Construction is hand-laid GRP finished in an isophthalic gelcoat with molded stripes and coachwork lines; the initial lay-up uses isophthalic resin with powder-bound fiberglass mat, while the main lay-up employs orthophthalic resin reinforced with stitched biaxial and unidirectional fiberglass. The topsides feature a 25 mm balsa core, and a bonded foam frame and girder system reinforces the hull bottom for strength and rigidity.

On deck, a molded non-slip finish pairs with all-stainless-steel fittings, including pulpit and cockpit rails and stainless-steel fendering with a rubber insert. There are 8 stainless-steel cleats and a curved stainless-steel framed windscreen. Ground tackle is handled by an electric anchor winch and capstan with both deck and cockpit controls, feeding a stainless-steel bow roller with anchor stop and a Delta anchor on 30 m of galvanized chain into a chain locker that also provides fender storage. There is a stowage position for an optional wetbike and a tender crane. IMCO navigation lights, fuel and freshwater fillers, and a fold-away swimming ladder are complemented by a teak-laid bathing platform and steps, a hot and cold swimming shower, an ensign staff with socket, and the convenience of 6 fenders and 2 mooring lines.

The self-draining cockpit is secured by a safety door and centers on a full wetbar with hot and cold water, a 12V fridge, and storage for glasses and bottles. Dinette seating for up to eight surrounds a fold-out table, with additional storage beneath the seating. A folding helm seat, a curved copilot seating area, and a chart table enhance usability. A full-size sunbather with a large locker beneath, glass holders, overhead 12V cockpit lights, and waterproof carpet round out this inviting social hub.

At the helm, a contoured console with a burr walnut fascia frames comprehensive electronics and controls: radar, autopilot, and VHF radio; a wood-rimmed steering wheel; single-lever controls; full analog engine instrumentation; electronic speedlog and depth sounder; fuel and freshwater gauges; compass and horn; trim tab controls; and 2 windscreen wipers with washers. A fire extinguisher and glass holders are thoughtfully integrated.

Protective covers include a full camper enclosure, a suntop, and a cockpit cover. In the main cabin saloon, a large dinette with a telescopic table faces a television and an Alpine radio/CD system with speakers in both the cabin and cockpit. There is stowage beneath the seats, scatter cushions, and a drinks cupboard, all illuminated by overhead 12V halogen lights. Opening portholes with mosquito screens and curtains and a deck hatch provide light and air. The ship’s systems are managed from a main switch and circuit breaker panel (AC/DC), and convenience is assured with a double 240V AC socket, a choice of lacquered interior finishes and veneers, and fitted carpet.

The galley is comprehensively appointed with a 12V electric refrigerator, a 240V electric twin hob, and a 240V microwave/grill, plus hot and cold water. A 6-place crockery set and 6-place cutlery set have dedicated crockery stowage, while additional cupboard storage, an opening porthole with mosquito screen and curtain, and a double 240V socket underscore practicality. Safety items include a hand-held fire extinguisher and a first aid kit, and a rubbish bin keeps the space tidy.

In the master stateroom, a double bed with storage beneath and drawers at the foot is paired with 2 x 12V reading lights, a hanging wardrobe, overhead halogen lighting, 2 opening portholes with mosquito screens and curtains, and a deck hatch. A door leads directly to the toilet and shower. A double 240V AC socket and fitted carpet add comfort.

The master en suite shower room features an Avonite countertop with washbasin, refined taps and accessories, hot and cold water, and a vanity unit with mirror, toothbrush and glass holder, soap dish, and towel ring. There is a stowage cupboard, a vacuum toilet, and a separate shower compartment with an acrylic door over teak grating, plus overhead lights, an opening porthole with mosquito screen and curtain, and a dual-voltage shaver socket at 240/110V.

The aft cabin offers two single berths with under-berth storage and drawers, a hanging wardrobe, a storage cupboard, overhead halogen lighting, 2 reading lights, an opening porthole with mosquito screen, a double 240V AC socket, and fitted carpet. Its en suite toilet compartment provides a washbasin with taps and accessories, hot and cold water, a mirrored vanity unit, toothbrush and glass holder, soap dish, towel ring, shower, overhead lights, a vacuum toilet, and an opening porthole with mosquito screen and curtain.

In the engine compartment and ancillaries, twin engines with close-coupled V-drive gearboxes sit within sound insulation throughout the engine room. Fuel is held in 2 aluminum tanks with electric senders, and safety is supported by automatic fire extinguishers and 2 automatic bilge pumps. There are separate fuel filters with water separators, extractor fans, an aluminum freshwater tank with electric sender, a 12V freshwater pressure system, and a hot water tank.

The electrical system comprises a 4 kW, 50 Hz generator (an upgrade required for air conditioning), AC 240V dockside connection with a 20 m cable, and a galvanic isolator. A 12V DC electrical system provides full circuit breaker protection, supported by 4 engine batteries on a 12V circuit, 2 domestic batteries on a 12V circuit, and 1 generator battery on a 12V circuit. An alternator split charging system, battery switches controlled from a cockpit locker, and a 40 amp battery charger for the 12V circuits ensure reliable power. A 1.5 kW 240V AC water heater and 240V AC sockets throughout the boat complete the specification.

Underwater gear includes direct shaft drive through half tunnels turning 4-blade NAB bronze propellers on bronze P-brackets. Propulsion runs via 2 stainless steel Temet 25 shafts of 1 3/4 inch diameter with dripless shaft logs and spare seals. High-performance bronze rudders and struts pair with sea water strainers serving 2 main engines and 1 generator, seacocks on all underwater fittings, a full cathodic bonding system to zinc anodes, and 12V stainless steel hydraulic trim tabs.
