Overview
TURN-KEY AND SERIOUSLY FOR SALE!
Meticulously cared for, Jonny’s Quest shows pride of ownership, and the extensive list of upgrades will impress even the most discerning buyer. This luxury express cruiser/sport yacht/motor yacht is truly ready to go.
Featuring the sought-after 1999 Tiara two-stateroom layout with a generous salon and aft galley, Jonny’s Quest delivers the ideal cruising yacht configuration. The forward master offers a centerline island berth and a 20" x 20" escape hatch overhead. Aft to starboard is a full-height hanging locker, while to port you’ll find an enclosed head with a separate shower. The salon sits just aft of the master with opposing port and starboard settees for easy lounging and entertaining.
Further aft, the galley is to starboard, and the guest stateroom—complete with convertible twin berths and its own head—is also to starboard. Between the galley and guest cabin, a companionway leads up just five steps to the helm deck. The helm is positioned to starboard with companion seating to port, offering excellent sightlines underway. Two steps down, the cockpit provides comfortable seating and dual transom doors (port and starboard) opening to a large swim platform that also carries a dinghy—perfect for waterfront adventures.
Entertainment systems are 12-volt, allowing the TVs and receivers to operate without the generator, so you can enjoy quiet evenings when the weather is mild and air conditioning isn’t required. Purpose-built for relaxed weekends and extended coastal cruising, this premium cabin cruiser balances comfort, style, and performance.
Many upgrades—see the full specifications for details.
New bottom paint and PropSpeed just completed.
All offers welcome.
Detailed Description
Master stateroom
Anchored by a pedestal queen berth with generous storage beneath, the master stateroom makes the most of every inch with overhead storage cabinets and port and starboard hanging lockers. Honey beige carpet and thoughtfully placed indirect lighting set a serene tone, while a Visio 21-inch television and Bose speakers tied to the salon system elevate private entertainment. An ensuite head completes this refined sanctuary for effortless comfort at sea.
Master head
Entered directly from the master stateroom, the ensuite features a Corian countertop and sink with storage below, a vanity with lights, mirror and additional stowage, a fiberglass shower with seat and a full-length glass door, a dependable Vacuflush toilet, and dedicated linen storage for an impeccably organized space.
Guest stateroom
The guest stateroom offers flexible sleeping with twin berths that convert to a king using a fitted insert, complemented by storage below the berths, a nightstand with drawers, a starboard hanging locker, and upper cabinet storage that keeps travel essentials neatly stowed.
Guest head
Located to starboard and accessible from both the salon and guest stateroom, the guest head features a Corian countertop and sink, a vanity with storage below, a fiberglass shower with a proper door, and a Vacuflush toilet, ensuring convenience and privacy for family and friends.
Salon
Wrapped in a warm Natural Cherry interior and Dark Green genuine leather, the salon invites relaxation with an L‑shaped starboard sofa and a portside dinette offering seating for six. Entertainment is effortless with a 26-inch flat-screen monitor in the salon, a Bose AM/FM stereo with Bluetooth and matched Bose speakers, while a solid cherry cabin sole with in-floor storage blends beauty and practicality. A stainless steel stair railing adds a touch of yacht-grade polish, and a Bendix clothes washer/dryer tucked under the cabin steps makes extended cruising refreshingly convenient.
Galley
The galley is primed for gourmet cruising with a Corian countertop and stainless steel sink, a sleek glass cooktop, Sub-Zero refrigerator and freezer, and a Black and Decker Space Maker coffee maker to start the day right. A Panasonic convection/microwave expands culinary options, while a serving bar between galley and dinette with a pull-out pantry keeps provisions within easy reach. Upper and lower storage cabinets and a dedicated storage compartment ensure a tidy, sea-ready workspace.
Helm deck and cockpit
On the helm deck and in the cockpit, reupholstered helm seating and a double helm seat face a hinged helm console with a full engine instrument panel and integrated drink holders, complemented by a Jensen 31-inch flat screen at the helm. Entertaining is effortless with a wet bar and sink with storage below and portside L-shaped seating with storage and drink holders, while two hydraulically operated cockpit tables rise to the occasion. Practicality is everywhere: a flush forward storage locker, a transom storage compartment with a hydraulic hatch, molded-in aft-facing seat with engine room access, coaming padding, stainless steel handrails from lower to upper cockpit, molded-in recessed port lights, and port and starboard transom doors. Outdoor enjoyment is enhanced by a forward sunpad with drink holders and a storage area, a recessed cockpit shower with hot and cold water, a swim platform and swim ladder, an aft mooring cover, a custom aft curtain to cover the lower cockpit, a mid-drop curtain, a hardtop with arch and side curtains, and an antenna mast for the hard top. Seamanship details include an anchor windlass with chain and remote, an anchor locker with overboard drain, a stainless steel bow pulpit with rails, a salt and fresh water washdown system for the anchor locker, three Tiara custom windshield washers and wipers, a transom davit system, a shore power system on the forward deck with a Glendinning shore power reel and Charles Marine automatic shore power transformer, cockpit courtesy lights with remote control, custom removable chocks for a tender, and three forward deck hatches with adjusters and screens.
Electronics and navigational equipment
Confident passages are guided by a Garmin GPS map 3010C paired with a new digital radar and a 1000 watt transducer, flanked by an Icom IC‑M504 VHF radio and a Raymarine Ray 220 VHF radio for clear communications. A Raymarine ST60+ digital depth repeater, Raymarine autopilot, and Ritchie compass deliver precise data and hands-off tracking, while a KVH Trac vision satellite receiver keeps information and entertainment within reach.
Electronics
A well-equipped helm and lounge experience includes a TV set and cockpit speakers, a fully featured navigation center with compass, plotter, GPS and radar, plus radio, autopilot, and VHF for complete situational awareness underway.
Inside equipment
Daily life aboard is simplified with a marine head, a microwave oven for quick meals, and an electric bilge pump that adds a reassuring layer of safety belowdecks.
Heating
Climate and comfort systems include hot water and efficient air conditioning, backed by a battery charger and the dependable cold storage of a Sub Zero refrigerator and Sub Zero freezer.
Electrical equipment
Robust onboard power comes via a shore power inlet with a power feed/retract system, complemented by an Onan 20 kW generator for dependable autonomy away from the dock.
Outside equipment/extras
On deck, effortless handling and leisure are assured with an electric windlass, a cockpit shower, a cockpit table for alfresco moments, and a secure swimming ladder at the platform.
Additional equipment and notable upgrades
Attention to maintenance is evident throughout: the salon air conditioning was replaced in October 2014, and the starboard exhaust at the engine was renewed in November 2014, with all repairs consistently addressed promptly and properly to avoid lingering punch lists. For simplicity and reliability, the automatic shore power to generator option was removed and replaced with a manual switch, eliminating issues associated with automatic transfer systems. The Onan 20 kW generator shows 3328 hours and continues to deliver steady onboard power.
Updated features
In August 2008, the port engine experienced a failure attributable to a known CAT defect with the engine’s after cooler on this model; the failure allowed raw water to be ingested. The port motor underwent a complete rebuild by Pereira Diesel in Miami, FL. During the cause investigation, the starboard motor was inspected and its after cooler—judged likely to suffer a similar fate—was proactively replaced to prevent a repeat. At that time the hour meters read approximately 1850, with the port engine failure occurring at approximately 1700 hours; during the rebuild, both after coolers were upgraded to the new CAT specification, and subsequent to the August 2008 event the turbo chargers on both engines were replaced. Following the work, the port motor had approximately 200 hours while the starboard motor had approximately 1850 hours. Complementing these major updates are a reverse cycle air conditioner, a fresh water cooling system, hydraulic wheel steering, trim tabs, an Aftwood 200 gallon water heater, smoke detectors, engine hour meters, fuel gauges, rudder angle indicators, a bilge blower and engine room fans, Racor fuel filters and water separator, a reverse oil transfer/change system (main and generator), 4 bilge pumps, 2 high capacity alternators, a Fireboy FE‑241 automatic and manual fire extinguisher system, a Galley Maid super water pump, and new batteries in 2018.
Accomodations
“Jonny’s Quest” welcomes up to 6 guests in comfort, with a private stateroom featuring a queen berth and a versatile guest stateroom with twin berths. The dinette converts to sleep another two guests, and each stateroom enjoys its own ensuite head, ensuring privacy and ease for extended cruising.
