Overview

Many yachts on the market feel ordinary—especially beside MRS. CHIPS. This luxury motor yacht stands distinctly apart in both condition and outfitting. You truly must step aboard to grasp her caliber; words and photos can’t capture her full allure. Professionally captain-maintained with an engaged, knowledgeable owner, MRS. CHIPS presents at a beyond five‑star standard. Redundant safety systems are in place and every service is fully up to date.

Approach her dockside and you’ll be hard‑pressed to guess her age. Her refined lines, born from a sportfish/sportfisher hull concept, were ahead of their time at launch. The low, elegant, express-style profile flatters both Euro‑inspired and classic tastes, making her a standout bluewater cruiser and coastal cruiser alike.

Her owner, welcoming a new wave of post‑Covid grandkids, has moved up to a larger yacht and—after five months of owning two—has made the difficult decision to list his pride and joy. MRS. CHIPS is not for everyone; only those who appreciate informed upgrades, disciplined care, and functional beauty will understand her value. Connoisseurs of unique, high‑end, and highly usable yachts should review her details (which still don’t capture all enhancements) and schedule a private inspection or a virtual walkthrough.

Conveniently based in Palm Beach, Florida, she is easy to view on short notice and ready to impress. Keywords: luxury yacht, motor yacht, sportfish heritage, express yacht, bluewater cruiser, premium cruiser.

VIRTUAL VISITS ARE AVAILABLE AND ENCOURAGED.

HEALTH‑RELATED SALE. POTENTIAL PARTIAL OWNER FINANCING AVAILABLE.

Detailed Description

Mrs chips walk thru

No matter what size the yachts are on the dock alongside MRS. CHIPS, they cannot compete with her timeless good looks and exquisite maintenance program. She shines like a diamond in bright daylight and glimmers like the most beautiful South Sea pearl in the evening light. Waxed at least twice a year and kept to “White Glove” standards, she presents in superior condition everywhere you look. MRS. CHIPS will run circles around most motor yachts her size with a very nimble turn of speed—22 knots @ 1850 RPM—and will top out at an exhilarating 34 knots.

Painted from the bottom of her keel to the top of her hardtop in 2017, she still looks as if she just emerged from the VIKING paint shed today. Finished in white IMRON and then top‑coated in clear IMRON for a deep, lustrous final result, she carries red and green accent striping and waterlines. Before that spectacular paint was completed, her bottom was sandblasted and two coats of epoxy were applied, with no blisters found.

Forward on deck, custom MARQUIPT fender holders flank both sides aft of the pulpit. Her stainless‑steel 80 lb PLOW anchor is mounted all the way forward on the pulpit with 240' of galvanized chain. The rebuilt 24V MAXWELL windlass features deck‑mounted foot pedals, a hand brake secured in a low‑profile box, and a power switch on the sky lounge helm. Mounted on the railings forward of the house is a custom boarding ladder with seven cork treads and an offset plate, plus an additional vertical boarding ladder. Custom stainless‑steel rails were added here and along the house sides by a master welder.

Moving aft, two custom‑built fiberglass deck boxes, each six feet long with custom cushions and covers, deliver excellent seating and storage—the perfect place to stretch out under the stars. They are mounted outboard on either side of the 15' AB inflatable tender. The center‑console tender is powered by a 60 hp Evinrude, was re‑tubed and completely serviced in 2021, and carries a GARMIN GPS with a multifunction screen and a VHF. A 1500 lb MARQUIPT davit is mounted on the port foredeck of MRS. CHIPS.

Proceeding aft along the side decks you’ll find two wing doors and three doors leading to the aft deck saloon. All locks have been replaced with new, and a spare lock set (aft) is included in the ship’s stores. Enter through either wing door and you step into a classic and elegant space uncommon among her sisterships, originally specified with very large sliding side windows and impressive aft windows so that, wherever you sit, you enjoy sweeping views as MRS. CHIPS glides by.

Along the back and port side runs an inviting L‑shaped settee with abundant storage beneath, complemented to starboard by two standalone chairs; adjacent to the aft chair is a GLENDINNING remote‑control plug. Everywhere you look the matched teak woodwork gleams—painstakingly selected and executed by the best craftspeople and maintained by a dedicated varnisher who travels annually from the Northeast to sustain furniture‑grade finishes. Once a white plastic production yacht, she is now a warm, elegant, and comfortable retreat whether dockside at sunset or underway to new horizons. Even the window surrounds are framed in gloriously varnished teak, and the front of the 110V ULINE refrigerator in the wet bar is teak‑clad. Above the wet bar sits a 42‑inch Samsung 4K TV; directly behind it, a large, well‑lighted storage area houses barware, paper products, and more. Or enjoy the FUSION system paired with PIONEER speakers while you relax on this very comfortable deck.

Throughout the yacht, 52 light fixtures have been converted to LEDs, each encircled by a handmade teak “donut.” The overheads are pristine, fitted with unique custom grab rails wherever prudent. To starboard, a door leads to the line‑handling deck, where safety has been immeasurably enhanced by custom stainless‑steel railings running the entire coaming. While the stainless artisan was creating these lower rails, additional toe rails were fashioned for the upper deck and two custom stainless ladders—built to the specifications of a very astute yachtsman—were added, giving crew and owner‑operators safe, easy access to the top of the aft deck and the hardtop. Noting a lack of docking cleats, the owner also added custom cleats just outboard of the line‑handling deck.

Back in the aft deck saloon, with its intricate ORIENTAL RUG, you can proceed down the centerline companionway—fitted with custom side handrails—into the lower saloon, or head up to the SKY BRIDGE COMMAND CENTER. The aft‑deck upper saloon is the social heart of the yacht; above it, the climate‑controlled command bridge is the center of action. Ascending from the aft deck saloon, you arrive at a superb helm flanked by three custom STIDD high ladder‑back helm seats that recline. For ease of movement, the owner designed and added custom stainless‑steel and teak handrails to both the companionway and the sky lounge. Comfortable L‑shaped seating with storage runs along the aft bulkhead and port side, complemented by a teak‑trimmed foldable footrest for extra comfort when relaxing on the aft settee. Aft, large tinted opening windows bring in the breeze; forward, the windshield is treated with UV film, and two small vent windows open. Numerous electrical outlets throughout the yacht—including newly added ones—are upgraded with USB ports. Overhead is an opening BOMAR hatch. The decking is synthetic teak and holly, presenting in like‑new condition.

The forward bridge is all custom teak—a sweeping dash and overhead electronic pods—with attention to detail and redundancy carried to a superlative level. Each light fixture and pod is trimmed in hand‑crafted, highly varnished teak. Already exceptionally quiet thanks to full glass windows, a solid lower aft‑deck enclosure and hardtop, this command bridge offers nearly 360 degrees of visibility, aided by a hard‑framed glass windshield with three independent freshwater washers and oversized wipers, and further enhanced by an onboard camera system.

All‑new RAYMARINE electronics were installed in 2015 and have been continuously upgraded. Three individual 16‑inch primary displays and four 7‑inch displays run on one network, allowing the captain to keep a variety of functions in view at a glance: radar, GPS, FLIR (2020), two sounders, AIS, autopilot, weather station, and a five‑camera Raymarine system. A GHOST security suite with seven cameras adds another layer of awareness. On the dash are controls for two ACR searchlights, trim tabs, emergency engine shut‑downs, the engine‑room HALON system, GLENDINNING controls, an offshore automatic fog‑signaling system, and the bow‑thruster. Engine diagnostics are handled by four 7‑inch stand‑alone engine‑monitoring screens, with redundant analog backups tucked beneath the helm. Communications come via two individual ICOM VHF radios with command microphones. The GLENDINNING single‑lever control (2016) is complemented by a 30' wired remote. Dedicated displays monitor AC and DC power levels (2017). Because there are three MASTERVOLT chargers (2015) aboard, there is also a bridge‑helm display for charger health. Power for the command bridge is supplied by a dedicated MASTERVOLT charger and a set of batteries (2021); in an emergency, power can be pulled from the engine room—another example of thoughtful redundancy. Two overhead MARETRON displays track fuel burn, engine exhaust temperatures, and generator oil pressure and temperature. Further bridge redundancy comes from a stand‑alone RAYMARINE 4‑inch display with its own dedicated GPS and transducer, which also serves as the depth sounder during normal operations. Over the helm, lights are fitted with red night modes, while custom blue LED courtesy lights are sprinkled throughout the yacht—more evidence of a safety‑conscious owner.

Descend from the aft deck saloon and you’ll appreciate the custom handrails on the companionway to the lower saloon, where large windows flood the space with daylight. To port, a very comfortable L‑shaped settee with storage beneath faces, to starboard, discreetly hidden electrical and control panels behind raised‑panel cabinet doors. From here, you can manage the INTELLIAN HD6 and the FUSION radio with SXM, with additional storage between the panels and the dinette. Two state‑of‑the‑art displays serve the upgraded CHARLES transformers. This same panel also carries displays for the fire and high‑water alarms with a very loud annunciator, and the local TV‑antenna controls are intuitive to operate. Midships, four GLENDINNING Cable Masters have a dedicated breaker panel, complemented by an upgraded ship’s electrical panel for both AC and DC systems.

Forward in the lower saloon, a built‑in dehumidifier is cleverly disguised as a storage cabinet on the forward side of the port galley counter. The sea‑going chef will love the full‑size double‑door KENMORE refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and glass stove top. The galley sole is upgraded to varnished teak flooring; all cabinets have fresh high‑gloss varnish and slide‑out features. Custom overhead lockers handle dishes, while under‑counter custom lighting adds practical elegance. A custom cutting board disappears into the cabinetry. Storage is generous not only in the galley but also behind the 42‑inch Samsung 4K TV paired with a BOSE sound bar, where deep custom storage holds a plethora of items. The starboard L‑shaped settee hides deep storage beneath its seats, and the starboard dinette table has been refinished. Equipment includes raised cabinet doors, a bulkhead exhaust fan, a Sharp convection/microwave, a filtered‑water dispenser, a Kenyon three‑burner stove, a Kenmore dishwasher, a Kenmore refrigerator/freezer with ice maker, a toaster oven, a Grohe faucet, a deep‑well sink, white Corian counter surfaces, a sub‑panel with breakers, a current fire extinguisher, upgraded varnished teak flooring, and custom pull‑out drawers under the counters.

Proceed three steps forward and, to port, you’ll find a stackable Kenmore washer and dryer, with handsome teak handrails in the companionway. To starboard lies a twin over‑under guest stateroom with a private entrance into the day head and a very ample hanging locker. The day‑head sole gleams in custom varnished teak laminate, and the space includes a separate shower stall, a Vacuflush head, and under‑counter storage—an especially accommodating day/guest head. All the way forward, the VIP en‑suite offers a centerline double berth. On the aft bulkhead below the smart TV is another well‑camouflaged dehumidifier. Drawer storage, a large opening BOMAR hatch with day‑and‑night shades, two large hanging lockers, and a carpeted sole make this a very attractive VIP. The en‑suite head adds a very spacious separate shower, a Vacuflush head, and an upgraded custom varnished teak‑laminate sole. With a centerline berth, dual hanging closets, separate climate controls, pull‑out drawer space, a BOMAR deck hatch with day‑ and night‑screens, a built‑in dehumidifier, and a carpeted cabin sole, your guests may well outstay their welcome.

Back up the stairs and across the lower saloon, the aft companionway leads to the master en‑suite and built‑in storage just adjacent to the engine‑room entrance. The three‑step companionway carries custom stainless‑steel handrails; immediately to port lies the engine‑room foyer. The master suite features a king‑size centerline berth. On the forward bulkhead you’ll find the third hidden dehumidifier, with a 32‑inch SHARP TV and DVD player mounted above. A walk‑in cedar‑lined hanging locker to starboard is oversized and fitted with a built‑in safe; additional built‑in drawers line the starboard side. The high‑water and fire‑alarm panel is located near the berth—another nod to safety—while twin nightstands keep essentials close. Along the port side is a custom dressing table with mirror and makeup lighting, with a second hanging locker positioned between the dressing table and the en‑suite head. The entire master stateroom has new, highly varnished teak paneling. All original BOMAR portlights were removed and replaced with fiberglass‑framed fixed‑glass units, finished with custom teak trim by the owner’s teak guru. Aft corner cloth panels on both sides were replaced with highly varnished teak with access panels, and handsome architectural columns crown the headboard; even the varnished teak headboard locker offers additional storage. In the en‑suite head, custom stainless handrails encircle the commode and secure the shower, while all sanitation hoses have been replaced (here and in the other two heads). A double‑sink vanity, good storage, roomy shower, and upgraded custom varnished teak‑laminate sole complete this welcoming space. Further proof of the owner’s know‑how: a new dry‑chemical fire‑suppression system was installed aft of the master berth.

A signature VIKING feature, the engine‑room foyer adds sound shielding for the master and the rest of the yacht and provides additional storage for engine parts. Open the soundproof door and step into a gleaming, incredibly bright‑white engine room with no shadows—either in person or on the engine‑room camera system. Remote monitoring is effortless; any drip, drop, or dust bunny stands out. Handy eye‑level engine gauges simplify checks. The 1200 HP MAN engines are fastidiously maintained and upgraded to current standards: injection pumps rebuilt, all valves and guides upgraded, and new hoses and fuel lines installed, with oils changed religiously. The owner designed a custom fuel manifold that allows either engine to draw fuel from either the port or starboard tank. Each of the two fuel tanks is served by a dedicated RACOR Fuel Polisher—top‑of‑the‑line units that can run 24/7 for continuously clean fuel. The air‑conditioned space is genuinely comfortable for work. At the forward end on a raised platform sit seven DOMETIC A/C compressors. Four 1 1/4‑inch GROCO strainers feed two 3/4‑inch OBERDORFER pumps that supply water to the seven compressors. On this platform you will also find a larger ship’s water pump (shallow‑well type) with an oversized pressure tank for the freshwater system, and a stainless‑steel 20‑gallon hot‑water heater equipped with smart technology for quick recovery and high output. A large tool chest sits near centerline. To starboard, the ONAN 20 kW generator in a hard sound shield is fully up to date on services and has had its injection pump rebuilt. The fixed fire‑suppression system is current. Spare dripless shaft seals are in place. The oil‑change system has been upgraded. A fresh‑water bib with hose stands ready. Mechanical engine gauges are an engineer’s ally. Bright LED lighting floods the space. House and start batteries are located outboard and aft of the engines. This engine room is a delight to show—or to simply sit and admire—with an owner and captain who accept nothing less than spectacular. Here, a speck of dust or a tiny drop is cause for angst.

Engine room

At the heart of MRS. CHIPS are MAN D2842LE 1200‑horsepower engines showing 2760 hours to starboard and 2945 to port (port serial number 7008374043A301; starboard serial number 7008374060A301). Over 350k has been invested to upgrade both engines to the newest specifications, including, but not limited to, the latest valves, seats, and guides per MAN’s most current standards; new‑style injectors pop‑tested; injection pumps rebuilt; raw‑water pumps rebuilt with new housings; a replacement camshaft on the starboard engine; and a new freshwater pump on the port engine. In accordance with MAN requirements, all heat‑exchanger seals were inspected and replaced as needed. Fuel lines are new, as are exhaust tube housings; the exhaust monitoring system is new and the exhaust systems themselves are upgraded. Complete engine‑monitoring systems are installed on the command bridge and in the main lower saloon. An owner‑designed custom fuel manifold allows exceptional flexibility. RACOR filters serve all three engines (both mains and the genset). All seacocks and strainers are new, and all thru‑hulls have been replaced. Any and all hoses have been renewed as needed. Custom lighting brightens the engine room and the genset flats. Oil changes—including the transmissions—are performed religiously. The ONAN generator has had complete service.

Electrical

MRS. CHIPS is retrofitted to plug in even on very long piers, with four midships‑mounted GLENDINNING Cablemasters, each spooling 100' of 50‑amp cable. All batteries have been replaced within the past two to three years and are monitored by displays on the command bridge and in the lower saloon. The ship’s battery suite comprises two batteries under the bridge for electronics, four house batteries, four start batteries that also serve the bow thruster, and two start batteries for the generator, with three new battery chargers attending them. All A/C compressors are new and the SMX2 controls, fan‑coils, thermostats, and modules are updated throughout. Climate control is robustly zoned: 8 000 British thermal units in the VIP en‑suite, 8 000 in the twin en‑suite, 30 000 in the lower main saloon/galley, 30 000 on the command bridge, 30 000 in the upper saloon, and 20 000 in the master en‑suite; the 30 000‑unit engine‑room system is the only non‑reverse‑cycle unit aboard. Shore‑power connectivity includes two 50‑amp receptacles on the stern. A new Vacuflush head pump is fitted. Numerous displays throughout the vessel monitor electrical systems. Security and awareness are enhanced by a GHOST system and a Raymarine five‑camera system. Two Charles Iso‑Boosters with remote panels condition shore power. The ONAN 20 kW genset is fully serviced and shows 3840 hours. Custom courtesy LED lighting is installed throughout the yacht, and two upgraded transformers bolster resilience. Various new electrical display panels were installed across the yacht to keep you fully informed about both AC and DC systems.

Every electrical system aboard MRS. CHIPS has been thoughtfully upgraded with redundancy wherever possible. The owner’s philosophy is to be completely prepared for any contingency, as family time afloat is precious. The next family to enjoy MRS. CHIPS will benefit from this constant pursuit of the newest and best for his pride and joy and from adherence to a spectacularly rigorous maintenance program. Owner and captain are fully aligned and go the whole nine yards to keep her looking, feeling, and performing to the highest yachting standards.

CHIPS boasts a spectacular custom teak interior with over 400k invested in upgrades, complemented by a full custom paint job from keel to hardtop exceeding 200k and a highly varnished interior with over 200k devoted to finishes. Her MAN 1200 HP engines have been upgraded with over 350k in mechanical work, while electrical upgrades exceed 350k. A water‑purification system and a SPOT FREE system are installed. There are three MARQUIPT boarding ladders and two remote GLENDINNING outlets, and all electrical outlets have been renewed with UPS plugs. New high‑water and fire alarms are installed in the master stateroom. All safety equipment is in service. The engine room has been fully detailed. A custom fuel manifold was designed and fitted. The genset exhaust was relocated to improve access. Air conditioning was added to the engine room. All seacocks and thru‑hulls have been replaced, dual strainers fitted, and new RACOR fuel filters installed. Each fuel tank carries a RACOR polishing system. Heavy‑duty air compressors are aboard. The master received new fixed portlights and complete new teak paneling. All bilges have been painted. At the helm are three custom STIDD seats. A spare set of props is included. New cutlass bearings have been fitted. The 24V MAXWELL windlass has been rebuilt. A new 80 lb stainless‑steel anchor sits forward. Extra cleats were added to the stern. The davit has been completely serviced. Four GLENDINNING Cable Masters carry 100' 50‑amp cords. Custom padded covers protect all tables, and custom covers protect the helm. New TVs, a Fusion radio, Sirius, a Bose sound bar, and Pioneer speakers modernize entertainment. Fifty‑two LED light fixtures illuminate the yacht. Two ACR remote‑controlled spotlights stand ready.

A major project brought custom stainless‑steel hand railings, budgeted at 300k: eight interior runs, two companionways, two in the master shower, and two by the master commode; a full cockpit‑top railing with gate and a custom foldable ladder to the top of the aft saloon; a full toe‑rail around the top of the aft saloon with a custom ladder to the hardtop; and all exterior house handrails now in stainless steel. Custom fender storage was created. The 15' AB center‑console tender was re‑tubed and its 60 hp outboard fully serviced. All new A/C compressors were installed—six serving living spaces and one dedicated to the engine room—with all fan‑coils, thermostats, and modules replaced in a comprehensive 80k climate refresh. A safe was installed in the master stateroom. All three Vacuflush heads were rebuilt, and all sanitation hoses replaced. Electronics were upgraded, a Raymarine CAMERA SYSTEM installed, and the GHOST system integrated. LED‑lighted name boards were added. And true to her ethos, she is waxed a minimum of twice a year.

MRS. CHIPS also carries an extensive inventory of spare parts. Running north and south each year for the past ten years, her knowledgeable owner insisted on spares for most common contingencies. Demanding standards from both owner and captain mean that aboard this yacht everything must not only function flawlessly but also please the eye. Nowhere aboard will you find deficiencies of any kind. The new owner of MRS. CHIPS (name reserved) will acquire a yacht upgraded far beyond the norm—one that promises years of yachting pleasure without the headaches of equipment failure. Truly and totally exceptional, she will surpass any other yacht in her class.
