Impeccably kept with light, knowledgeable use and professional maintenance, this offshore monohull sloop is ready for her next chapter. If you want a sailing yacht that can compete on Saturday and cruise with family on Sunday, this Xp-44 makes the decision simple.
All photos are recent and will be refreshed once full commissioning is complete after a thorough yard period. Under-sail images are coming soon.
Propulsion
Power comes from a Yanmar inboard diesel, model year 2012, delivering 54 hp through a saildrive. A three-blade bronze propeller provides efficient thrust and smooth running, giving reliable propulsion for passagemaking and low-stress maneuvering—well suited to a capable cruiser-racer.
Specifications
With a length overall of 44 ft and a waterline length of 39 ft, the Xp-44 balances speed and comfort. A generous 13.33 ft beam and 6.42 ft of cabin headroom create a bright, livable interior, while a maximum draft of 8.58 ft supports strong sailing performance. An electric windlass makes anchoring effortless. Tankage is well judged for cruising, with 93 gal of fresh water, 53 gal of diesel, and a 30 gal holding tank. The accommodation plan offers three guest cabins and two heads—ideal for family cruising and racing with friends.
Other details
The white hull is accented by dark blue cove and boot stripes, complemented by a folding swim platform and a swim ladder. Protection and performance are enhanced by an epoxy barrier coating, fresh bottom paint and hull wax in 2024, plus a deep T-keel with 2.65 draft supported by a carbon fiber keel structure. The vacuum-infused, post-cured epoxy hull and liner are paired with watertight bulkheads for the anchor and sail locker, composite chain plates and composite keel construction. Recessed through-hull fittings throughout and a smooth saildrive gasket further reduce drag.
On deck, a port electric Harken halyard winch speeds hoists, while folding mooring cleats at the bow, midships, and aft keep the topsides clean. Sail handling is optimized with a spinnaker halyard, a one-to-one tack line with blocks, an inhauler system for precise jib trim, outboard sheeting padeyes, and a Grand Prix barber-haul system. Double-ended control lines are led to the cockpit for the vang, cunningham, pole downhaul, and outhaul, each moved forward and arranged for accessible trimming. Comfort features include a 2024 dodger with cover, a bimini over the helmsman, and an instrument box garage over the companionway.
Safety and utility details include stainless-steel handrails on the coachroof, an outboard engine bracket on the pushpit, and large pedestal instrument boxes at the helms. Ground tackle is centered on a stainless-steel Bruce anchor of 20 kg. A clear-coat carbon bowsprit with dedicated cover completes the foredeck.
The Southern Spars carbon mast and boom form a powerful rig, with the mast repainted in 2024. A lazy-jack system serves the mainsail, complemented by a carbon combination deck/steaming light and a tri-color masthead light. A carbon spinnaker pole with adjustable car on the mast and a pole topping lift with blocks and a jammer make setting kites efficient. Rod rigging was sent to San Diego for inspection and reheading in 2024, underscoring a race-ready setup.
Below, lighting is by LEDs with red nightlights in the saloon and forward cabin. The forward cabin includes a spring mattress, drawers beneath the V-berth, and overhead lockers; the aft cabins feature removable pipe berths. Curtains finish the saloon hull windows, and both heads have teak floors; the aft head has an electric toilet, the forward head a standard unit. Entertainment is provided by a stereo system with speakers in the saloon and cockpit.
The galley is equipped with a microwave oven, both a front-opening fridge and a top-loading fridge, a three-burner stove with oven, and a gas detector alarm. A manual pump supplies fresh water at the sink, a separate seawater tap is fitted, and a hot-water tank feeds a pressure water system.
Electrical systems include a Combi 110v 12/2500 100 A system, a 30 A galvanic isolator, and a 110v 30 A shore-power cable. Twelve-volt sockets are installed in the galley, at the nav station, and in the forward cabin, and the boat is prepared and wired for a generator.
The sail wardrobe consists of one full-batten mainsail in Dyneema, one furling jib with battens in Dyneema, and one G-2 gennaker in Norlon NO 150. All sails have been recently serviced and show light use, with a new mainsail cover and a new sun cover for the jib.
Safety gear includes a Winslow six-man liferaft, a man-overboard module, and basic safety equipment.
