Detailed Description

Overview

Still Waters is a beautiful, well-maintained Krogen 48 North Sea, showcasing the sought-after two-stateroom, two-head arrangement with a queen master forward and a large ensuite full head. Designed as a true walkaround, she makes docking and line handling a breeze, while her generous engine room provides clear access to all four sides of the engine and ample space to reach every system. Power comes from the bulletproof Caterpillar 3208 naturally aspirated diesel paired with a Northern Lights generator, delivering efficient, reliable passagemaking. Her naturally aspirated Caterpillar will push her economically at 7 knots for an over 3,000 nm range, and she also cruises efficiently at 7.5 knots with a 2,500 nm range. Naiad stabilizers, a bow thruster, and a 700 GPD Spectra watermaker further enhance comfort and self-sufficiency offshore.

A convertible double berth in the pilothouse adds welcome versatility to the sleeping arrangements, while a huge aft deck, walk-around side decks, and a flybridge invite effortless outdoor entertaining. The spacious galley features high-end appliances, Corion countertops, and abundant storage, supporting extended cruising with ease. Rounding out her turnkey equipment list are the Northern Lights generator, Naiad stabilizers, bow thruster, and a Marquipt hydraulic davit for confident tender handling.

Still Waters is ready to carry you to the islands or any exotic destination your heart desires—step aboard and set your cruising dreams in motion.

Construction

Crafted from high‑grade female tooling, the hull and superstructure express exacting precision and enduring strength, with the hull construction featuring a USA‑made Cook® gel coat for a flawless, resilient finish. Below the waterline, the laminate is solid fiberglass, and the first two laminates are specified with blister‑resistant vinylester resin to safeguard long‑term integrity. Above the waterline, a carefully engineered combination of Knytex mat and Airex® delivers added resiliency along with improved sound and thermal insulation, while the superstructure incorporates an end‑grain balsa core and surface mats to reduce print‑through and preserve a crisp, fair exterior.

The deck and detailing are equally considered: teak graces the aft and side decks, and the bulwarks present molded plank lines with a gel coat finish for a timeless nautical aesthetic. Polyurethane‑formulated marine sealants are employed at the hull‑to‑deck and boat deck joints, as well as around exterior fittings, ensuring watertight reliability throughout. Inside, marine‑grade plywood bulkheads are reinforced with molded fiberglass hat‑section stringers for exceptional rigidity, complemented by teak veneer walls and cabinetry finished in a refined satin varnish.

Saloon

Entered from the large covered aft deck through double teak salon doors with etched glass, the comfortable saloon welcomes you with a fixed portside settee offering drawer storage and, just forward to port, a buffet and storage area with an opening port. To starboard, the dinette features a generous L-shaped settee and a custom hi-lo teak table on a bespoke base that lowers as a coffee table or expands to accommodate dining for up to eight guests. Two opening side windows and one aft opening window, all finished with teak valances and custom curtains, keep the space cozy and bright. The ambiance is further elevated by custom upholstery completed in 2016, while entertainment is handled by an LG 32-inch TV paired with a KVH satellite receiver, standard-definition satellite TV, and a local HD antenna.

Galley

The large, open galley is thoughtfully positioned to starboard just forward of the saloon, where numerous lockers and drawers provide abundant storage and a large opening portlight keeps the space bright and airy with a refreshing cross-breeze. Opposite to port, a spacious bookshelf and bar area with pantry and a matching portlight complete the harmonious flow and functionality of this inviting hub.

Culinary amenities include a Whirlpool 120-volt refrigerator, new in 2008; a Force 10 three-burner propane stove and oven; a GE microwave/convection oven; a trash compactor; and a large stainless-steel sink served by a Seagull® water filtration system with a dedicated faucet at the sink.

Master stateroom and head

Forward in the bow, the master stateroom aboard STILL WATERS centers on an island queen berth fitted with a household true queen mattress for residential comfort. Thanks to her full-displacement hull, there is no hull slap at anchor, ensuring a serene night’s rest. Overhead hatches and four opening ports flood the space with natural light and refreshing ventilation, while a vast amount of storage lies beneath the bed. Additional storage is thoughtfully arranged in numerous drawers, two large hanging lockers, and hidden storage areas. The ensuite master head continues the theme of practical luxury with a stainless-steel sink set in a Corian countertop, a VacuFlush head, and a large separate stall shower. Two portlights provide light and air, while lockers and a medicine cabinet offer ample storage.

Guest stateroom and head

Down three steps from the galley to starboard, the guest stateroom welcomes with a settee that converts to a large double berth, finished with custom upholstery completed in 2017. A lighted bookshelf crowns the forward bulkhead above the settee, while a comfortable desk and accompanying bookshelves create an inviting home office or refined occasional guest quarters. Ample storage is thoughtfully integrated with drawers and a large hanging locker, and three opening portlights wash the space in natural light, enhancing its bright and spacious feel.

Across the hallway, the guest head features a Corian countertop with sink, a VacuFlush head, and a separate stall shower. Additional storage is provided by cabinets and a medicine cabinet, while two opening portlights ensure a bright and airy ambiance. A GE washer/dryer is neatly housed in a locker enclosed with louvered doors on the aft side of the head.

Pilothouse

Up five steps from the saloon, the expansive Krogen 48 pilothouse welcomes you with commanding visibility and thoughtful functionality, featuring two workable chart areas to port and starboard for effortless navigation. A custom leather L-shaped settee with table creates an inviting spot to savor a cup of coffee or work remotely, and it converts into a double berth; the upholstery was replaced in 2018 for a fresh, refined finish. Two overhead hatches provide excellent ventilation, while two aft portlights offer additional views astern. Teak doors to port and starboard grant easy access to the deck, underscoring the pilothouse’s seamless blend of comfort and capability.

Electronics

The electronics suite blends modern upgrades with proven instrumentation, led by a Raymarine Axiom Pro multifunction display (2020) alongside a Raymarine Magnum 4kW open-array radar with a 48" antenna (2020). Additional navigation redundancy is provided by a Raytheon E120 radar/chartplotter and a Raytheon backup radar, all governed with precision by a Robertson AP20 autopilot. Underwater intelligence comes from a Furuno depth sounder/fishfinder supplemented by a Datamarine depth sounder, while a Simrad wind instrument keeps you fully apprised of the breeze. Clear communication is ensured by a Standard Horizon GX2150 VHF with AIS, backed up by an ICOM VHF. Vigilant awareness extends aft and below through CCTV cameras for engine room monitoring and a Raymarine 220 stern-view camera. For entertainment and weather, a KVH TV satellite antenna partners with a Sirius SR200 weather radio, and a Fusion stereo with pilothouse speakers fills the helm with rich sound.

Engine room

Accessed via a hatch near the galley or through large removable hatches in the saloon, the engine room presents a meticulously organized machinery space centered around a Caterpillar 3208NA diesel engine rated at 210 hp with 4,973 hours, monitored by engine-mounted temperature and oil pressure gauges and turning a shaft protected by a dripless seal. Stability and handling are enhanced by Naiad Active fin stabilizers—extensively rebuilt in March 2026 at a cost of $20,000—and an ABT bow thruster. Power generation is delivered by a Northern Lights 12 kW generator showing 3,657 hours, supported by a Magnum MS pure sine wave inverter/charger installed new in 2018, a ProMariner galvanic isolator, and a ProMariner 24-volt battery charger dedicated to the 24-volt thruster systems. Fuel management is robust with twin Racor fuel filters for the main engine, a single Racor for the generator, and a Racor 120-volt, 50 GPH fuel polishing system. Command inputs are precise via Hynautic hydraulic engine and gear controls. Onboard comfort and autonomy are assured by four-zone Marine Air Systems air conditioning and heating, a Raritan 20-gallon water heater, a Groco Paragon water pressure system rebuilt in 2026, and a Spectra 700 GPD watermaker. Electrical storage is comprehensive with a Group 31 engine start battery new in 2018, 8D house batteries new in January 2026, and 8D bow thruster batteries also new in January 2026, while 50-amp 120/240V shore power connections are provided at both bow and stern. Safety is addressed by a Fireboy automatic fire extinguisher system, and the compartment presents clean and bright, having been repainted in 2016 by a yard in Virginia.

Additional items

Equipped for autonomy and adventure, the yacht features a Spectra Newport Series 700 gpd water maker, a Marquipt 1,000-pound dinghy davit whose cylinders were replaced by Marquipt in May 2023, a Maxwell 2200 windlass, and a backup davit winch with stainless-steel cable. The tender package includes a 2003 Nautica twelve-foot Wide Body tender with a Kevlar® hull, a 2011 Yamaha 40 hp outboard, VHF, and Garmin GPS, complemented by a Hobie twelve-foot two-person kayak. Recent care includes new bottom paint applied in March 2026, ceramic coating to the hull and topsides in May 2026, and all waste hoses replaced in 2020.
