Commanding attention with timeless poise and American pedigree, FORTUNA is a 100-foot Palmer Johnson masterpiece that harmonizes strength, style, and seakeeping in a way only the finest motor yachts can. Launched in 1999 and thoughtfully refreshed in 2014, she showcases the craftsmanship of an all‑aluminum hull and decks, blending lightweight agility with robust integrity. Her broad 23-foot beam creates a sense of generous volume, inviting an effortless flow for gathering and entertaining, while five well-appointed heads underscore her commitment to comfort for extended cruising. Confident yet elegantly understated, FORTUNA sits firmly within the realm of mega yachts, delivering a yachting experience defined by presence, privacy, and poise.
Underway, twin inboard Detroit Diesel engines provide the reliable pull of classic diesel power, offering an easygoing cruise around 10 knots with the ability to sprint to approximately 21 knots when the moment calls. With a substantial 6,800 gallons of fuel and 1,350 gallons of fresh water, she is purpose-built for longer passages and unrushed exploration. The efficiency and resilience of her aluminum construction lend a composed ride and enduring refinement, whether slipping along a glassy coastline or stretching out toward the horizon.
A study in balance—performance and polish, pedigree and possibility—FORTUNA is a distinguished invitation to travel grandly. Her refreshed finishes and contemporary sensibility complement the timeless Palmer Johnson aesthetic, creating warm, luminous spaces that feel both welcoming and impeccably tailored. Located in the United States and ready for her next chapter, FORTUNA offers the stature of a true mega yacht with the grace and intimacy of a bespoke motor yacht—a rare opportunity to own a celebrated icon of American yachtbuilding.
Detailed Description
Main description
FORTUNA is a beautiful, one-of-a-kind motor yacht designed for luxury cruising and entertaining. This nautical navy-hulled, American-built, 100-foot/30.5m Palmer Johnson motor yacht, delivered in 1999 and refit in 2014, embodies a refined, luxury houseboat style that grants generous and elegant accommodations beyond what a typical motor yacht offers. Whether hosting a dinner party cruise or embarking on a week-long vacation, FORTUNA will delight your guests with her comfort and polish. She is in flawless condition and ready to take you wherever you wish.
Built by the U.S. shipyard Palmer Johnson and conceived on the drawing board of famed superyacht designer C. Raymond Hunt, FORTUNA showcases fine craftsmanship at every turn. Meticulously maintained since delivery, she has benefited from various refits and upgrades throughout her life, most recently a 2014 refit that included interior upgrades totaling over seven figures, all while being professionally maintained by an experienced captain.
Flawless, with no detail overlooked, FORTUNA incorporates elements not usually found on a vessel of this size. Her graceful lines on the water frame an ample, luxury liveaboard-style design. She features three polished staterooms that sleep six, with further accommodations for a crew of four. A substantial interior includes the main salon, as well as a bar and a beautifully outfitted designer kitchen, all clad in sophisticated materials that are the hallmark of a classic yacht—polished mahogany and teak, beadboard overheads, and teak and holly flooring—complemented by solid brass fixtures.
Belowdecks, the staterooms are finished in the same rich woods and gleaming brass. The primary stateroom offers a large berth for the owner, chic appointments, and abundant storage. The two additional staterooms comprise one with a queen berth, also beautifully appointed, and a third with double twins, each space enhanced by ingenious built-in details.
Upstairs, the covered flybridge provides a large entertaining space for savoring the ocean view, complete with a built-in bar and lacquered teak dining tables surrounded by upholstered seating for as many as twenty guests. The uncovered deck offers areas for sunbathing, cocktails, and a jacuzzi. She has generous storage for tenders, watersports equipment, and toys, including a sailboat, flats boat, and zodiac.
The main aft deck presents another generous teak-tabled dining area with seating for fifteen, enriched by built-in polished mahogany bookcases and a bar, plus full pocketing sliding glass doors and removable eisinglass windows around the dining area to deliver the best of indoor-outdoor living. A very large swim platform at the stern invites diving, boarding, or sunbathing.
Enjoyed by her current owner for the past eight years, FORTUNA is a proven, well-loved vessel with true long-range capability. She has journeyed from Nova Scotia down through the Panama Canal and all the way up to Alaska, Vancouver, and the Queen Charlotte Islands.
FORTUNA lives in Florida, the Bahamas, and Southampton.
