Overview
Welcome aboard AMBAR, a 2022 Sanlorenzo SL120A Asymmetric, a 120-foot luxury motor yacht that captures Sanlorenzo’s hallmark fusion of refined Italian design, progressive naval architecture, and genuine superyacht scale.
Conceived with the shipyard’s acclaimed asymmetric wide-body concept, this SL120A unlocks remarkable interior volume, fluid circulation, and a perception of breadth more typical of 40-meter superyachts—while remaining eminently practical, owner-focused, and supremely livable.
With a shallow draft of approximately 6’9”, she is tailor-made for Bahamas cruising, granting relaxed access to shoal anchorages and island hideaways without compromise. Twin MTU 16V 2000 engines at 2,637 hp each deliver confident performance, cruising efficiently around 23 knots and reaching up to 27 knots, combining speed with the poise expected of a premium flybridge motor yacht.
Boarding aft, the yacht immediately imparts a feeling of calm and generosity. The teak-decked cockpit is expansive without excess, arranged as a true open-air living room rather than a formal stern terrace. It’s a setting for unhurried breakfasts, long, convivial lunches, and evenings that drift naturally toward the water. Broad access flows down to the beach club and tender garage, underscoring the vessel’s lifestyle-first ethos. This is more than a simple swim platform; it’s a purposeful waterside domain—where tenders, water toys, and the sea itself are woven into everyday rituals. Every element feels deliberate, usable, and crafted for owners who genuinely enjoy life on the water rather than merely showcasing a yacht.
Stepping into the main salon, the asymmetric philosophy appears in a subtle yet transformative way. By shifting the side deck to port, the interior embraces newfound width and openness that is instantly felt. Floor-to-ceiling glazing pulls sunlight deep into the space, preserving an ever-present connection to the horizon. The progression from lounge to dining unfolds naturally, free of rigid demarcations, shaping a main deck that feels residential, relaxed, and conducive to extended stays rather than formal occasions. Comfort and effortless flow take precedence over convention, reinforcing the yacht’s modern superyacht DNA.
The dining area, set to port, preserves intimacy while remaining visually merged with the rest of the main deck. It welcomes guests with ease without feeling secluded, epitomizing shared spaces that still encourage quiet moments. Here, interior and exterior communicate seamlessly, reflecting a design stance that champions openness, movement, and day-to-day livability over compartmentalization.
Forward on the main deck, the full-beam owner’s suite presents a genuinely private sanctuary. Buffered from guest and crew traffic, it achieves a level of discretion rarely found in this size category. The atmosphere is luminous and composed, framed by large panoramic windows that flood the space with natural light. A king-size berth, lounge area, abundant wardrobe capacity, and a beautifully detailed ensuite create an ambience more akin to a private apartment than a typical cabin. Discreet direct access forward adds another layer of autonomy, empowering the owner to navigate the yacht on their own terms.
Above, the raised pilothouse reflects a yacht engineered for serious blue-water cruising. Sightlines are excellent, key systems are thoughtfully organized, and the overall arrangement feels purposeful and professional. Whether run privately or with a full crew, this command center prioritizes clarity, ergonomics, and ease of operation. Ascending further, the flybridge reveals one of the yacht’s most adaptable social zones. Sheltered by a hardtop yet open to the breeze, it forms a natural stage for entertaining or quiet contemplation underway. Dining, lounging, and sunning areas are arranged with intention, allowing multiple activities to unfold concurrently without crowding, while sweeping views and steady airflow make this deck as appealing underway as it is serene at anchor.
Descending to the lower deck, guest accommodations continue the same quiet, refined design language found throughout. The cabins are well-proportioned and supremely comfortable, conceived for long sojourns rather than quick overnights. Higher ceilings, generous footprints, and consistent materials create a calm, coherent atmosphere, ensuring guests experience the yacht as a home at sea rather than a hotel.
Forward, crew and service spaces are intelligently planned to support smooth operations without intruding on guest life. Accommodations are comfortable, working areas are practical, and circulation remains discreet, enabling the yacht to function seamlessly behind the scenes while preserving privacy, tranquility, and the effortless elegance that defines AMBAR’s Sanlorenzo SL120A experience.
