Detailed Description
Upgrades and services
Diligently maintained and thoughtfully upgraded, this yacht benefits from new Simrad electronics installed in 2018, while the main engines received comprehensive service in 2017 that included valve adjustments and injector service; during the same maintenance cycle, three turbos were rebuilt and three exhaust manifolds were repaired. Arneson maintenance was completed in 2017, and the 4-ton MarineAir chiller was replaced in 2016 to ensure robust climate control. A Seafire halon system was installed in 2015 for added safety. In 2018, new tinted, tempered cockpit glass was fitted to port and starboard, engine-room insulation was replaced, and a new windlass remote was added. The aft deck enclosure was renewed with new canvas and isinglass in 2015, and elegant new blue carpeting was laid throughout the yacht in 2017.
Vessel walkthrough
MAGNIFICA is a notably large, impeccably constructed express cruiser from Baia Yachts, built to the highest standards. Her midnight blue hull is striking, and the crisp white superstructure complements the elegant exterior profile of this stunning Italian yacht. A fiberglass hard top with radar arch adds versatility: with the electric-powered sunroof closed, the immense cockpit lounging area can be fully enclosed with isinglass curtains and cooled by air conditioning. Forward in the cockpit, the helm station—refreshed with new dashboard graphics in 2013—provides commanding ergonomics with bolstered seating for 6. To starboard, two refrigerated drink lockers, a U-Line icemaker, and a wet bar with a built-in flat-screen TV create a refined entertainment hub.
Aft, a very large, luxurious U-settee welcomes up to 10 guests, while opposite an L-settee accommodates up to 4; both cushioned seating groups feature hi/lo tables. The entire cockpit and aft deck are finished in teak decking for warmth and grip. Forward, the foredeck remains clean, uncluttered, and open, with a very large sun pad protected by a non-skid patterned cover when not in use; here, hatches also provide access to the crew quarters.
A comfortable stairway leads down to the salon, beautifully finished in high-gloss cherry wood with off-white wall coverings and high-quality blue carpeting installed in 2017; a central vacuum system serves the entire yacht. The main salon features an expansive oval seating area to port, accented by custom burled cherry cabinetry, drawers, and cupboards. To starboard, the cherry wood entertainment center houses a Sony Trinitron TV, a Sony RXDS stereo system, and a Sony VHS VCR. The galley to starboard is highly functional and can remain open to the salon or close elegantly via a pocket door and sliding partition.
Aft deck
The stern lifts hydraulically to reveal a generous tender garage sized for a 12' inflatable tender or a jet ski; built-in chocks in the sole and an electric winch on the forward bulkhead simplify retrieval and launching. The integral swim platform incorporates hardware for the swim ladder, while the cockpit aft deck is topped with a large built-in sun pad—approximately 12' x 7', with the sun pad actually measuring 10' x 12'—creating a sprawling space for lounging. Overhead, a hard-top retractable sunroof invites the breeze, and amenities include a Smalvic grill, a U-Line icemaker, a comprehensive safety package, and a 600 gpd water maker.
Main salon
A stairway from the cockpit leads to a salon designed for luminous comfort, with extensive direct and indirect lighting operated by remote switches. The high-gloss cherrywood interior pairs beautifully with off-white wall coverings and high-quality blue carpeting, while a central vacuum system serves the space. To port, a large oval seating area centers around a custom, hydraulically controlled burled cherrywood table, complemented by built-in cherry cabinets and drawers, a cherry entertainment center, and high-gloss burled cherry furniture dressed in leather and fine Italian fabrics. Lacquer and fabric-paneled bulkheads, thoughtful cabinetry with book rails throughout, and plush moquette flooring complete the refined ambiance.
Galley
Highly functional and elegantly integrated, the starboard galley may remain open to the main salon or close discreetly with a pocket door and sliding partition. Two large opening ports admit abundant natural light, and the off-white high-gloss cabinets and shelves keep the space bright and airy. Equipment includes separate Bosch refrigerator and freezer supported by American compressors, a 4-burner halogen electric stove top, a Whirlpool 100 microwave oven, a Bosch dishwasher, an icemaker, and a practical double sink.
Master stateroom
The master stateroom is beautifully appointed around a centerline queen bed framed by built-in high-gloss cherrywood cabinetry, with burled tops adding a note of artistry. A light headliner and bulkheads complement the Italian woodwork to create an open, airy retreat. Thoughtful details include a built-in entertainment center with AIWA TV/VCR and a swivel, pull-out vanity below, a safe, and an emergency exit hatch. The en suite bath features a large shower, a Vacuflush toilet system, a bidet, Italian fixtures, marble vanity top and flooring, a dedicated vanity, and refined lighting.
Guest stateroom, port
Finished in high-gloss white for easy care and a light, airy feel, the port guest stateroom offers two twin berths with drawers below, a built-in high-gloss cherry night stand, and a convenient Pullman-style berth for added flexibility. A hanging locker provides wardrobe space, while the en suite head features a stall shower and a Vacuflush toilet for comfort and privacy.
Guest stateroom, starboard
On starboard, guests enjoy two twin berths with drawers below, a built-in high-gloss cherry night stand, and a Pullman berth, plus a hanging locker with a sliding drawer for organized storage. The en suite head is thoughtfully designed with a second door for use as a day head, and includes a Vacuflush toilet and a stall shower.
Electronics and navigation
Comprehensively updated in 2018, the helm suite features new electronics highlighted by 3 Simrad NSSEVO3 12" touch screen displays paired with a Simrad NSSEV03 7" touch screen display, a Simrad AP70 autopilot, a Gollight LED searchlight, a Simrad 4g radar, a Simrad VHF and a portable Simrad VHF, and a 406 CAT11 EPIRB. Navigation and entertainment are further supported by a compass, a Sony CDX stereo cassette and CD player, Tracvision KVH SAT TV, and Iridium Sat Com/PC connectivity.
Electrical system
Designed for performance and reliability, the electrical system includes expanded cockpit A/C complemented by an additional 48,000 BTU of air conditioning capacity. Power is provided by 18kW and 8kW Kohler gensets delivering 220v AC, each with a sound shield, sea strainer, filter, and Aqualift muffler, and start/stop control from the helm. Ship’s systems run on 24v DC, supported by a dual bank of 24v DC, maintenance-free batteries totaling 540 amp hours for both engine and house needs, managed via manual battery switches and an 80 amp automatic battery charger. A 22 gal. electric water heater ensures hot water, while shore power comes aboard through a 25' 50 amp power cord feeding a main electrical switch panel with instruments and generator controls. In the engine room, a derivation box with electromagnetic switches and an All Parts bonding system enhance safety. Convenience and control extend to electric wipers with spray wash, comprehensive helm gauges for RPM, water temperature, oil pressure, gear oil pressure and temperature, engine alarms and warning lights, engine start/stop, a trim tab joystick with corresponding indicators and trim tab angle indicators, rudder indicators, appliance switches, instrument lights, cockpit lights, navigation lights, and a horn.
Engines and mechanical equipment
Power comes from 2 MTU 12V2000 engines rated at 1370 hp with 1680 hours, with the MTU 1000-hour service performed for peace of mind. Performance hardware includes Arneson Drives ASD 12 with rudder and trim indicators, electro-hydraulic trim tabs with dual joystick controls, and a hydraulic steering system with both wheel and joystick tiller. Engine and gear electronic remote controls and a dual Racor fuel filter system further enhance operability. Maneuvering is assisted by a Vetus bow thruster, while propulsion turns through 5-blade Nibral propellers; a spare set of Rolla propellers (new) accompanies the yacht. Tankage includes SS fresh water tanks with electric gauge and aluminum interconnected fuel tanks with sight gauge and shutoff valves. Bilge management is robust, with a large emergency 24v bilge pump with manual switch and valves and 4 hoses with pickups, plus 4 automatic bilge pumps with manual override at the helm, and a chain wash pump. Deck and service details include 2 fuel fills and 2 water fills with overflows, a Racor emergency fuel shut down located at the arch, and an underwater engine exhaust system. Dockside convenience is assured by a shore fresh water bypass pump system for consistent water pressure. For seaworthy durability, American sea-water strainers serve the main engines, 2 generators, and A/C, with SS seacocks and light alloy filters, complemented by chromed brass through-hulls with SS ball valves. Safety is addressed by 6 fire extinguishers and a Seafire halon system. The mechanical installation is built to US specifications, and boarding is enhanced by a Pin-craft hydraulic box gangway.
