Detailed Description
Detailed description
An elegant semi-displacement motor yacht of American pedigree, LADY NORA was built by Broward Yachts at their Dania shipyard and delivered in 1998, with a comprehensive refit completed in 2025. Bearing Hull No. 542 and flying the Malta flag, she combines Broward’s in-house naval architecture and exterior design with a refined interior originally by Robin Rose & Associates. Constructed with an aluminium hull and superstructure and laid with teak decks, she displaces approximately 278 tons fully loaded, carries 446 GT with 133 NT, and is meticulously maintained by a crew of up to 9.
Measuring 45.11 m (148'0") LOA with a 38.47 m (126'3") LWL, an 8.53 m (28'0") beam, and a maximum draft of 3.10 m (10'2"), she delivers the coveted shallow-water versatility referenced in her operational profile, with a shallow operating draft around 2.9 m (8 ft) ideal for the Bahamas and coastal cruising. Propelled by twin 1,790 kW (2,400 Hp) Detroit Diesel 16V 149TIB DDEC engines through ZF BW 466 gearboxes with a 4.294:1 A ratio onto 120 mm stainless-steel shafts and 2 Schaffran Nibral 5‑blade propellers (64.5" × 65" pitch, RH & LH, 5 ½" bore, ISO Class S), she reaches 15.00 knots maximum, cruises comfortably at 12.00 knots at 1,300 rpm, and offers a 2,700 nm range at 12.00 knots with fuel consumption of 220 litres/hour (58 US gallons) at that speed. Power generation is provided by three 99 kW (133 Hp) Kohler 99EOZDJ 3‑phase 208V/60Hz generators, complemented by a Kubota V3300 BG‑ET01 emergency generator. As of 19 Aug 2025, engine hours stood at Port 6,986 and Starboard 8,064; generator hours recorded Starboard 7,080, Centre 4,235, Port 6,368; the emergency generator showed 67 hours. For comfort and poise, a CMC Stabilis Electra HS 120 zero-speed electric stabiliser system has been fitted, while Jastram steering with two electric motor drives and two PTO drives off the main engines provides independent port and starboard control, and an ABT Trac Type 56 hydraulic bow thruster enhances low-speed manoeuvrability.
Hotel systems are engineered to the American electrical standard with 3‑phase 208 V and single‑phase 110 V at 60 Hz; shore power is managed by an Atlas system accepting 190–520 V / 47–63 Hz input and delivering 208/120 V 60 Hz at 60 kW. Starting and auxiliary power is supported by two 12 V, 225 Ah / H‑10 batteries for each main engine and generator, with Victron Energy Blue Power chargers. Climate control is robust and efficient via 2 Frigomar chiller inverter blocks, Model 609NT, each delivering 180,000 BTU; a new AC station and system upgrades further modernise the installation. Potable water autonomy is assured by 2 water makers, model WMSQ20003RDMFNY4, feeding a freshwater system with 2 Headhunter Mach 5 water pumps (230 V / 60 Hz). Domestic hot water comes from 4 units, each with 3 × 1.2 kW elements at 208 V. Grey water is handled by gravity feed and an Edson 120 membrane discharge pump, while black water is treated by 2 Headhunter TW‑200 units and discharged via an Edson 120 membrane pump. Fuel polishing and separation are managed by Alfa Laval.
Her capacities underscore genuine blue‑water credentials: fuel 49,649 litres (13,116 US gallons), fresh water 15,120 litres (3,994 US gallons), lube oil 800 litres (211 US gallons), dirty oil 800 litres (211 US gallons), grey water 3,000 litres (793 US gallons), and black water 3,000 litres (793 US gallons). Navigation is modern and redundant: a Danforth Constellation magnetic compass, Sperry Marine NAVIGAT 100 gyro compass (installed 2025), and Sperry Marine Navipilot 4500N autopilot (installed 2025) interface with dual Simrad X‑Band radar arrays, 2 GPS sources (Simrad & Furuno), Simrad chart plotting with TimeZero navigation software, Furuno NAVTEX, a Furuno FCV echo sounder (1,100 litres), and B&G wind instruments. Communications encompass a Sailor RT5022 fixed VHF/DSC, a SIMRAD RS40 fixed VHF/DSC, an Icom HF/SSB Marine Radio IC‑M802, and a Furuno NX300 NAVTEX.
Across three expansive decks, LADY NORA is conceived for an outdoor lifestyle. The main deck aft welcomes with a generous lounge, while the upper (bridge) deck aft serves as the yacht’s primary al fresco dining venue and a second comfortable seating area; forward on the bow a forward‑facing lounge can be shaded during the heat of the day, and both this bow lounge and the upper deck aft convert seamlessly to dining settings. The sundeck offers the best seat in the house with sweeping ocean panoramas, where a forward section integrates a large sun pad with a spacious Jacuzzi for after‑hours relaxation, and aft of the Jacuzzi a versatile lounge‑dining arrangement sits beneath a protective bimini.
Light and open, the interior embraces a neutral palette where darker oak‑veneer cabinetry plays against lighter luxury carpeting, while oversized windows flood the yacht with natural light. On the main deck, a full‑beam saloon blends a welcoming lounge with a formal dining area for up to thirteen guests; open stairs lead forward to the sky lounge above, a second saloon with elevated, all‑around ocean views. Recently refreshed by Spanish yacht design studio BYD, the staterooms adopt chic white décor to heighten the sense of volume and brightness. The stylish Master suite is positioned forward on the main deck and features oak panelling with warm ambient lighting, preceded by a private Owner’s office that creates a quiet, dedicated workspace. Guest accommodation totals up to 10+3 guests in five cabins, comprising 1 Master, 2 double staterooms, and 2 twin staterooms; the starboard twin offers two single beds and a Pullman with a custom desk designed for gaming, while the port twin features three single beds and a Pullman, perfect for children or adaptable family arrangements. All guest cabins are ensuite. Crew are exceptionally well provided for, with accommodation for 9 in 7 cabins: a Captain’s cabin, 4 single cabins with a shared bathroom, and 2 twin cabins.
Entertainment and technology are seamlessly integrated via Control4 software, with TVs in each guest cabin, a TV on the main deck aft, and large-screen TVs in both the main deck saloon and the bridge deck saloon. The professional galley benefits from 2 Miele ovens, an induction hob, and a microwave, while laundry is handled by 2 Miele PW6068 Plus washers and 2 Miele PT7138 Plus dryers.
On deck, equipment is specified for reliability and ease of operation: Maxwell RC8 vertical rope capstans aft and a Maxwell RC10 vertical rope/chain capstan for anchoring work in concert with 2 ship’s anchors and chains measured at 5 shackles each side. Handling toys and tenders is simplified by a Nautical Structures forward crane; access ashore is via a Nautical Structures passerelle and a Nautical Structures side boarding ladder to starboard only. A Jacuzzi, a generous swimming platform, and easily deployed awnings complete the lifestyle amenities. Safety and security are paramount, with a standard set of LSA, 2 liferafts of 25 persons each, and brand‑new immersion suits, alongside a CCTV suite built around Verkada cameras and network infrastructure providing full recording, motion detection, and face recognition. Fire‑fighting equipment is to standard and includes a fixed CO2 system in the engine room.
For leisure on the water, the inventory includes a 9.30 m Salpa RIB, available by separate negotiation, a custom STT inflatable swimming pool and PWC dock, a collection of inflatable towables, 2 Seabobs, and 2 PWCs. Entertainment on board is matched by capability underway, with three Kohler generators ensuring abundant electrical supply for hotel loads at any speed.
LADY NORA’s refit and maintenance pedigree is exemplary, and since delivery she has had only three owners. During winter 2024/2025, approximately EUR 1.4 million was invested, adding a new CMC zero‑speed electric stabiliser system, a large AV upgrade, and an interior redesign spanning the staircase between main and bridge decks, the Owner’s office, and the Master cabin; bridge electronics were renewed with a new gyro and autopilot, the black water system was upgraded, bow anchor chain protection works and paint touch‑ups were completed, and the passerelle was removed, fully serviced, and refinished. In winter 2023/2024, the hull was sandblasted with paint touch‑ups and several fan coil units were replaced. Winter 2022/2023 saw EUR 350k spent on a new AC station, replacing old chillers with 2 Frigomar units while removing old cabling, soft starters, and wiring from the engine room, with paint works to rub rails and superstructure touch‑ups, ceramic hull coating, dry dock, and antifouling. In winter 2021/2022, approximately EUR 600k delivered a comprehensive galley refit with a new layout, PVC and electrical rebuilt from scratch, a Master cabin refit, and again dry dock and antifouling. The preceding winter 2020/2021 invested EUR 750k to replace all ceiling panels throughout the yacht, install a new KNX lighting system, upgrade AV, refit the wheelhouse with new veneer and an improved layout while retaining electronics, sandblast the grey water tank, touch up superstructure paint, and complete dry dock and antifouling. In winter 2019/2020, a EUR 1.5m refit refreshed guest cabins, introduced a forced‑air ventilation system to lower guest cabins and the Master, renewed the propulsion line with ME silent blocks, flexible couplings, thrust bearings and more, refurbished garage ceiling panels and lighting, applied ceramic hull coating, and completed dry dock and antifouling. The major EUR 3m refit of winter 2018/2019 delivered a full paint job, complete replacement of teak decks on all decks, a full reconfiguration and refit of crew quarters to 4 single cabins with a shared day head and 2 twin cabins, a structural area refit that removed hull insulation and primed the interior of the hull anew, a laundry upgrade, the installation of a forced‑air ventilation system, plus dry dock and antifouling.
An excellent example of American craftsmanship, LADY NORA’s sleek, all‑white exterior accentuates clean lines and balanced proportions, while oversized windows amplify her contemporary profile. Powered by twin Detroit 16V 149TIB engines and supported by three Kohler generators, she cruises serenely at 12.00 knots and, with her noted shallow draft, explores remote and skinny‑water cruising grounds with confidence. Impeccably maintained by her current Owner and crew, she benefits from a full paint job, replacement of all decks, forced‑air ventilation, a full refit of crew quarters and galley since 2018, and in 2024/2025 new CMC stabilisers, a facelift to all interior spaces, and a new audiovisual system. Key highlights include presentation in excellent condition after more than €7.5m in capex since 2020, brand‑new CMC stabilisers providing at‑anchor stabilisation, a shallow draft ideal for coastal or Bahamas/Florida cruising, a fresh and contemporary interior, up to thirteen guest beds across five staterooms for outstanding family and charter flexibility, accommodation for a nine‑person crew in generous quarters, and the lifestyle appeal of both a gym and a beach club.
