Originally built on the renowned high-performance Reynolds 33 platform, she underwent a total high-tech conversion, investing nearly $287,000 in engineering, structural design, rig conversion, and power integration. Her custom 12 m (39') fixed wing-sail system is engineered with a heavy-duty carbon base support structure and features hydraulic controls with a controllable flap to adjust the angle of attack for maximum lift and speed control. The airfoil is clad in durable, lightweight Oratex UL600 aircraft-grade fabric for aerodynamic efficiency and environmental resilience, and with 325 sq. ft. of sail area it is effortless to operate, providing rapid acceleration without complex soft-sail handling. Complementing the wing is a 75 hp all-electric outboard engine managed by advanced electronic battery controllers, backed by 40 kWh of energy storage from two 20 kWh Nissan Leaf lithium battery packs to deliver clean, near-silent propulsion. Hull integrity and minimal maintenance were central to the design: there are no thru-hulls, with the only underwater penetration dedicated to the depth sounder.
