Overview

Crafted in Italy and delivered in 2019, L.A.U.L is a 39.6-metre tour de force that captures the essence of contemporary Italian superyachting. As the flagship of Extra Yachts, this luxury motor yacht fuses daring styling, sprawling volumes, and thrilling capability for unfettered freedom afloat.

Conceived by Francesco Guida, her exterior lines and interior architecture are orchestrated in harmony, blurring the boundary between sea and sky. Vast open-air decks beckon, from the aft lounge and open-air dining to foredeck sunpads and a soothing jacuzzi for indulgent days.

Within, L.A.U.L radiates modern refinement, dressed in soft whites, greys, and tactile natural finishes. The main salon frames sweeping vistas and flows effortlessly into a formal dining area seating up to twelve. Five exquisitely finished staterooms welcome twelve guests in lavish comfort, highlighted by a full-beam owner’s suite on the main deck with a private office, walk-in dressing room, and an opulent marble ensuite.

Built entirely in lightweight aluminium at the acclaimed Palumbo Superyachts facility in Savona, L.A.U.L delivers a deft equilibrium of performance and efficiency. Twin 1,800 hp CAT32 diesels drive her to 17 knots, while she cruises serenely at 15 knots and boasts a 5,200 nm range at 9 knots, ideal for Mediterranean passages or ventures to farther horizons, embracing bluewater cruising confidence and extended autonomy.

With room for a dedicated crew of seven, L.A.U.L ensures a relaxed, highly tailored experience for her next connoisseur—an elegant superyacht that distils effortless sophistication and Italian craftsmanship into life at sea.

Detailed Description

Main machinery

The yacht’s precision begins at the helm, where an electro-hydraulic steering system with a dedicated power unit ensures assured control, complemented by two ABT E Trac 370-16 X fins providing stabilisation with sailing and anchor functionality. Close-quarters manoeuvres are effortless thanks to an ABT E TRAC 20-inch bow thruster rated at 75 Hp, while extended autonomy is delivered by an IDROMAR MC 2 duplex watermaker with a daily capacity of 6200 l/day. Fuel quality is safeguarded by an ALPHA LAVAL self-cleaning centrifugal fuel separator working in concert with RACOR filters, and endurance is further supported by two Daily Service Tanks installed in the engine room supplying the main propulsion engines, diesel generators, and the tender refuelling station.

For safety and compliance, the bilge system features one self-priming centrifugal pump in common with the firefighting system installed in the engine room, together with local submerged pumps positioned outside the engine room with shore connection. The sewage system combines TECMA for toilet drainage with a HAMMAN 750 l wastewater treatment plant, and includes the possibility of discharging black water directly to the sea, where permitted by the rules, by means of a GIANNESCHI pump. The domestic fresh water system is equally comprehensive, with two water heaters with resistance (150 l each), two hot water circulation pumps, one UV sterilization unit, one filling station, one GIANNESCHI fresh water transfer pump, one IDROMAR bunker water softener, and one silver ion sterilizer.

Onboard climate comfort is assured by a CONDARIA 240,000 BTU air conditioning system. All accommodation spaces (cabins, social areas, bathrooms, wheelhouse) are air-conditioned by air handling units (FCUs) integrated into the non-visible cabinets (accessible for maintenance operations), maintaining internal thermohygrometric conditions and noise levels, and each zone is equipped with a display including a thermostat (temperature sensor and temperature controller).

Electrical equipment

A robustly engineered electrical architecture underpins the yacht, featuring 380/400V 50 Hz three phases plus neutral AC, 220/230V 50 Hz single phase plus neutral AC, and 24V DC for comprehensive onboard power distribution. Power generation comes from two KOHLER 55 kW 55EFOZDJ 380V 50 Hz generators, with generator hours recorded at STBD 7583 h and PORT 7589 h as of November 2025. Energy storage and starting capability are assured by MMPP starter batteries, DG1 starter batteries, DG2 starter batteries, and a service battery, all supported by MASTERVOLT service battery chargers and a MASTERVOLT emergency battery charger. For seamless dockside connectivity, shore power is managed by a GLENDINNING 15 m cable with a terminal socket featuring a 400V EEC ring and automatic operation.

Navigation and communication systems

Command is precise and effortless with a servo-assisted hydraulic steering system with bow thruster control and a clear rudder angle indicator, while CAT Electronic Motor Displays and CAT Electronic Lever Motor Controls place propulsion intelligence and response exactly where you need it. The navigation suite is anchored by two FURUNO S- and X-band radars and two FURUNO sounders, with FURUNO mapping augmented by Mapping MAXSEA Time Zero Pro, all orchestrated through the FURUNO TZT2BB Multifunction Black Box with the FURUNO MCU-004 Remote Control Unit and presented on three HATTELAND HD24T22MMD 24 NMD Bonded DC (1920 x 1080) displays serving the monitoring system. Precision heading and control are delivered by the SIMRAD Autopilot Gyrocompass, SIMRAD GC 80, and gyrocompass SIMRAD GC80, with SIMRAD compass output at 20Hz and rate of turn plus roll and pitch at 10Hz on the NMEA 2000 network. Positioning comes from the FURUNO GP33OB MCU GPS Receiver and the GPS navigator FURUNO GP 39, supported by the Extension FURUNO Vai NMEA2000 M1 and the FURUNO Hob 101 ethernet hub. The array further includes the FURUNO MB-1100 adapter box for connecting the 1 kW transducer together with the FURUNO 50/200-IT GOMMA 1 kW transducer, the FURUNO Open Array Antenna - XN12 A 4FT 6WA, FURUNO FRU 2P55 30 M Cavo DRS4DL/NXT DRS6A Class, and FURUNO FRU 2P55 FF 30 M, Cavo 30 MT, DRS4DL/NXT and DRS6A XClasse, plus the display FURUNO F170 Tridata (digital). Data integration is enhanced by the FURUNO NMEA IF-NMEAFIxF1-70 Analog Converter NMEA and the FURUNO MD-550 Multi Dispenser NMEA, including NMEA 2000 Rudder Accessories, with an additional FURUNO MD-550 Multi Dispenser NMEA also provided.

Communication and situational awareness are ensured by AIS FURUNO Class B FA50 and the FURUNO Class B AIS Transponder with AIS Class B Black Box GPS Antenna GPA-017S, supported by a VHF AIS Antenna and the Navtex FURUNO NX 7000 receiver.
