Detailed Description
Overview
STELLA FIERA II (ex SANOO) is a 60m classic Feadship built in 1979, freshly emerged from “Phase 1” of her refit—the comprehensive technical program that commissioned and relaunched her after a protracted period ashore. She is now afloat with all systems serviced, checked, and fully operable, right down to the installation of Starlink. “Phase 1” was overseen by a highly reputable superyacht surveyor with a solid reputation in large new builds and rebuilds, and discussions are advanced with class for her reinstatement.
The stage is now set for the next phase under new ownership, inviting someone with the vision to sympathetically restore this truly historic superyacht. This is the moment to add personalisation, make your own mark, and create something not necessarily unique but unmistakably special.
Importantly, STELLA FIERA II has not been extended like many of her contemporaries; she launched at 60m and has an 847GT. She offers 8/9 staterooms and can carry up to 20 crew. Her interior is exceptionally generous, complemented by expansive exterior deck spaces.
A rare find in this sector, she awaits a true connoisseur—an admirer who appreciates what a classic Feadship delivers.
Main characteristics
Built by Feadship (Royal Van Lent) in 1979, this 60.55m yacht carries Lloyd’s 100 A1 + LMC classification (renewal in progress) and sails under the Cook Islands flag. DeVoogt Naval Architects shaped both the naval architecture and the exterior, while the interior was created originally by Pierre Tanter and refined in refit by Zaniz Jakubowski Design. Her hull is white, she welcomes sixteen guests in eight cabins, and she is attended by a crew of twenty. With a beam of 9.70m and a draft of 3.20m, she boasts a gross tonnage of 847 Tons and a displacement of 154 Tons.
Capacities
Poised for effortless passages, this yacht offers a cruising speed of 15.0 knots (approx.), a maximum speed of 19.0 knots (approx.), and an economical speed of 11.0 knots (approx.). Endurance is assured by generous tankage, including a fuel capacity of 115,000 litres (39,625 US Gallons), a water capacity of 55,000 litres (14,530 US Gallons), a black water capacity of 6,000 litres (1,585 US Gallons), and a grey water capacity of 9,000 litres (2,377 US Gallons). The range reflects this balance of performance and efficiency, extending to 1,820 nm (approx.) at 19.0 knots, 2,970 nm (approx.) at 15.0 knots, and 4,451 nm (approx.) at 11.0 knots, while fuel consumption is measured with precision at 1,800 litres per hour at 19.0 knots, 400 litres per hour at 15.0 knots, and 310 litres per hour at 11.0 knots.
Electricity
Engineered for robust onboard power, the yacht is wired for 380 V service and seamlessly supported at the dock by two ASEA shore power converter units that deliver clean, reliable current wherever you cruise. Energy reserves are provided by eight batteries rated at 225 amp-hours each, ensuring generous capacity for all onboard systems and confident autonomy when away from the quay.
Accommodation
Thoughtfully conceived for both private indulgence and effortless hosting, the accommodation begins on the Main Deck with a grand master owner’s stateroom, a family suite composed of a VIP double and an adjoining twin, and an additional VIP stateroom. The Lower Deck completes the guest layout with three double guest staterooms and one twin. Dedicated crew facilities comprise one double Captain’s cabin, eight twin cabins, and two single cabins.
The master owner’s stateroom is a full-beam double suite positioned forward on the Main Deck, offering two bathrooms and an adjoining walk-in dressing room. The suite further includes a separate private lounge and a dressing-room bathroom, creating a serene, self-contained retreat of remarkable privacy and comfort.
Designed with families in mind, the Main Deck family suite pairs a VIP double with en-suite shower and an adjoining twin intended for children, both sharing the same en suite to keep everyone close and comfortable. An additional VIP stateroom on the Main Deck also features a shower en suite, ideal for favored guests.
On the Lower Deck, guests are welcomed by three large double staterooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom, complemented by a twin stateroom with an en-suite shower. All guest staterooms are situated on the Lower Deck to ensure quiet separation between social and private spaces.
Crew quarters are arranged for optimal efficiency and discretion, providing accommodation for twenty crew in total. With the exception of the Captain’s quarters and two bunks reserved for the boss’s assistants, all crew accommodation lies on the Lower Deck. The Captain’s and Chief Officer’s cabins occupy the Bridge Deck aft of the wheelhouse, with the Captain’s cabin to starboard and the two bunks to port.
For peace of mind, the yacht is comprehensively equipped with safes: two in the Owner’s suite; one in each guest cabin; and one additional for the Captain. Two further safes are provided in the Chief Engineer’s space and the two-bunk cabin, with an extra safe in the galley to support professional service operations.
AV and IT equipment
Seamless connectivity begins with Wi‑Fi blanketing both the interior and exterior, ensuring effortless streaming and control throughout the yacht. In the Owner’s Stateroom, the lounge invites cinematic indulgence with Apple TV, Sky TV, Blueray, Airplay, and Sonos input, powered by a B&W amplifier with in‑wall speakers, a Marantz amplifier, and a flatscreen TV. The adjacent office is designed for productivity and presentation with Airplay and Sonos input, a Marantz amplifier, and a Microsoft Surface Hub, while the Owner’s cabin mirrors the lounge’s entertainment suite—Apple TV, Sky TV, Blueray, Airplay, and Sonos input—enhanced by a B&W amplifier with in‑wall speakers, a Marantz amplifier, a flatscreen TV, and a MacIntosh amplifier with speakers.
Guest accommodations are equally well appointed: the VIP stateroom features Apple TV, a flatscreen TV, and a Sonos soundbar; the double guest staterooms each provide Apple TV, a flatscreen TV, and a Sonos soundbar; and the twin guest staterooms continue the theme with Apple TV, a flatscreen TV, and a Sonos soundbar. On the upper deck, the saloon becomes a private theater with Apple TV, Sky TV, Blueray, Airplay, and Sonos input, a B&W amplifier with in‑wall speakers, a Marantz amplifier, a large LG one‑hundred‑and‑five‑inch curved‑screen TV, and a MacIntosh amplifier with speakers.
Wellness spaces are equally immersive, with Airplay and Phantom speakers enriching the steamroom, massage room, and gym. The main deck saloon and dining room set the tone for refined entertaining with Airplay and Sonos input, a Meridian amplifier and speakers, and a vinyl player. Al fresco dining on the sun deck is elevated by Apple TV, Sky TV, Blueray, Airplay, and Sonos input, driven by a Marantz amplifier with JL Audio speakers and complemented by a projector, while the main deck, upper deck aft, sun deck aft, and Jacuzzi zones are all tuned for open‑air enjoyment via Airplay and Sonos input with JL Audio speakers.
At the heart of the system, the AV rack integrates Pepwave, twin Starlink, two KNS KA‑160 ACU units, two Edge switches, and a DVB modem for resilient, high‑bandwidth performance. Futureproofing is quietly built in, with all guest staterooms each provided with two additional untethered CAT6 cables. Exterior areas extend the soundtrack of the sea with Sonos and Airplay coverage and transform into a full nightclub on the sundeck, complete with lighting and DJ decks.
The crew enjoy the same attention to detail, with the crew mess equipped with Apple TV, a flatscreen TV, and a Sonos soundbar, and the crew cabins offering one twenty‑two‑inch LED HD TV at each bunk. The onboard IT suite is equally robust, featuring a twenty‑two‑inch Apple iMac in the office alongside two HP Officejet Pro printers, plus a twenty‑two‑inch Apple iMac for the captain, another for the crew, and a further twenty‑two‑inch Apple iMac in the engine room.
Other equipment
On the sun deck, a generous Jacuzzi pool welcomes up to eleven guests. Entertainment continues on the upper deck with a dedicated cinema for sixteen. Wellness is enhanced by a Harvia steam generator designed for two to four people, while a private massage and gymnasium room includes a massage table and full gym equipment for complete relaxation and invigorating workouts.
Anchor windlass
At the bow, two Stein YMAS-30 anchor windlasses provide unwavering power for swift, secure anchoring. Aft, line handling is streamlined by two Stein single-direction warping capstans, while the boat’s ground tackle is specified with two 750kg pool anchors and enhanced by a carbon crane on the foredeck, supplied and fitted in 2015. Versatility continues with a forward mast/crane, a custom side hydraulic boarding ladder, and a custom electro-hydraulic telescopic passerelle for effortless shore access. Night operations are assured by Francis searchlights, and on-deck comfort is elevated by one awning over the seating area and one sun deck awning. At the water’s edge, a teak-decked swim platform invites easy sea access via two custom-made stainless ladders.
Communications equipment
Seamless global connectivity begins with satellite communications anchored by KNS V-SAT and Furuno SatC, complemented by KNS TVRO with a 50-inch dish for dependable entertainment reception. A Pepwave Max HD cellular/4G system with four bonding SIM cards delivers broadband speeds around the vessel, while a Yacht spot Wi‑Fi booster antenna captures shore hotspots when at anchor.
Mission-critical voice is handled by two Sailor 62222 VHF-DSC radios (GMDSS) together with one Sailor MF/HF unit, and onboard coordination is assured by an IMCOS sound-powered phone network serving the bridge, the captain’s cabin, the chief engineer’s cabin, the crew mess, and the engine room. Further redundancy and capacity come from twin Maritime Starlink units.
Navigation equipment
Confident navigation begins with a Jupiter magnetic compass, supported by redundant gyro references from a GYRO YOKOGAWA CMZ 900B and a Simrad unit. Precise track-keeping is delivered by an Anschutz autopilot, while a Leica log records speed and distance. Subsurface clarity comes via a Furuno Depth Sounder FCV-1200 BB, and route planning is refined with a Furuno time zero chart plotter paired with two Leica GPS units. Safety broadcasts are received through a Furuno NavTex, and comprehensive radar coverage is provided by Sperry Bridgemaster X-Bank with ARPA complemented by Sperry Bridgemaster S-Bank with ARPA. Further wind and performance intelligence is supplied by a B&G Hydra system, with situational awareness enhanced by one Leica AIS and heading integrity assured by one Furuno satellite compass, while powerful signaling is delivered by one Kahlenberg M-411 time, triple horn acoustic unit.
Safety and security equipment
Engineered for total peace of mind, the yacht carries a comprehensive suite of safety and medical provisions, including thirty-five immersion suits and a full CAT A medical kit sized for the full complement of passengers and crew. Personal flotation is assured with forty-one SOLAS inflatable life jackets for passengers and crew, nineteen SOLAS rigid life jackets, and ten SOLAS child life jackets, while four twenty-five-man life rafts stand ready for rapid deployment. Long-range alerting and recovery are enhanced by two SARTs and two EPIRBs.
Fire protection is anchored by the Autronica Fire Control system, supported by heat and smoke detectors throughout the yacht, strategically positioned fire extinguishers across all decks, and a dedicated galley fire suppression system. Professional response capability is further strengthened with four firemen’s suits and breathing apparatus, complemented by eight bottles.
Security oversight is discreet yet vigilant, with nine CCTV cameras supplied and fitted in 2015 and updated in 2026, delivering reliable coverage to safeguard guests, crew, and vessel at all times.
Galley and laundry equipment
The professionally appointed galley is designed for high-performance service, featuring one steam oven, two convection ovens, a blast chiller, two deep fat fryers, two induction plates, a griddle, and a small freezer. Provisioning and mise en place are effortless thanks to large dry stores, cold stores, and freezers directly accessible from the galley, complemented by a dedicated walk-in meat room and a walk-in freezer located in the engine room spares locker. The laundry is configured for continuous operation, with four Miele Professional compact washers, four Miele Professional compact PT7251 dryers, two steam irons, and one Miele sheet roller ensuring crisp, hotel-grade finishing.
Thoughtfully placed service points elevate life on board. The main deck pantry provides a drinks fridge, while the owner’s pantry is outfitted for private dining with a custom ice cream fridge, a Miele drawer warmer, one Miele steam oven, one Miele induction hob, two Miele fryers, and one Miele commercial dishwasher. Entertaining flows seamlessly through the living spaces, with the main saloon bar and dining area benefitting from a sink with running water, the upper deck saloon offering a drinks fridge, and the 60’s Diner also equipped with a drinks fridge. Personal convenience continues in the owner’s stateroom, where a small drinks fridge keeps refreshments close at hand, and on the lower deck a bespoke walk-in wine cellar welcomes guests to explore curated vintages.
Crew facilities are equally well considered, with the crew mess offering three fridges, two commercial Miele dishwashers, and one microwave to support efficient service and daily comfort.
2026 refit - phase one
Phase one of the 2026 refit delivered a comprehensive renewal across propulsion, electrical, safety, and hotel systems, restoring every major component to peak condition. The main engines were fully serviced, with injectors removed and overhauled by MTU, and all pumps and ancillary equipment inspected and serviced as required; prior to layup the engines benefitted from a W4 overhaul in Holland. The generators received the same level of attention, including injector removal and overhaul by MTU, full servicing of all water and fuel pumps, alternators tested and confirmed clean and safe for operation, and complete replacement of inlet manifold gaskets across all units. The emergency generator was serviced, tested for proper operation, and auto-start issues were resolved. Both start air compressors were serviced and inspected, and the service air compressor was serviced by the main dealer. Zero speed stabilisers had bearings and seals inspected and greased, the main hydraulic unit serviced, and the system, which was new prior to layup, verified for readiness. Bilge and fire pumps were removed, serviced, and overhauled, while fresh water pumps and hydrophores were inspected and received new filters. The hot water system was flushed and fitted with new elements, the sewage treatment plant was serviced and returned to operation, and the oil water separator was serviced and calibrated by the main dealer with certificates issued. Grey and black pumps were overhauled. The air conditioning system saw condensers overhauled, sea water and chilled water pumps overhauled, and gas levels checked on all compressors, with a note that two units require replacement. The shaft cooling system pumps were tested and serviced, rudders were bump-tested and gland packing replaced, and a water fire hose test was carried out across all valves, stabilizers, the bow thruster, the passerelle door, and every window.
Electrical systems were thoroughly recommissioned, with the main and sub switchboards tested and cleaned prior to operation and the power management system checked and verified. New 24V batteries were fitted throughout the vessel. The forward crane received new emergency batteries, a full service, and new electrical contactors. In the propulsion line, the shaft was reinstalled to the starboard engine with a new deep sea seal, and precise alignment was completed for both gearbox and shaft; the starboard gearbox was tested following its rebuild. The port shaft was withdrawn for inspection of the shaft and bearings, and the deep sea seal was stripped and inspected, noting it as new prior to layup. All overboard discharge valves were replaced with new and supplied with certification, all bilge valves were serviced, and all sea chests were opened, inspected, and refitted. All tanks—fuel, fresh water, grey, and black—were opened for cleaning and inspection, and all bilges were thoroughly cleaned.
Safety and navigation standards were elevated across the board. The alarm system was checked, the fire alarm system was serviced by the main dealer with a certificate issued, and all safety and fire equipment was removed for service and returned to operation with certificates. CO2 fire bottles were hydrotested. A full bridge navigation system survey was completed and repairs executed to ensure the system is fully operational. Onboard connectivity was modernized with a new network and WiFi system and the addition of two Starlink systems. All lighting systems and power sockets were tested and returned to operation, and the music system was reinstated with new amplifiers.
Interior and exterior refinements included opening, emptying, and deep cleaning all lockers and storage areas, followed by meticulous refitting of all spares and boxes. The Jacuzzi cover and aft awning cover were replaced. All painted surfaces were polished, with localized rust and corrosion points repaired. The entire underwater area was sanded, primed, and treated with new antifouling, with a certificate issued. All teak decks and handrails were deep cleaned multiple times, and the bridge deck rear sliding electrical doors were overhauled.
