Detailed Description

Overview

This finely customized 78' Hatteras welcomes up to nine guests in four staterooms and is appointed with three full heads and a dedicated laundry area, making her as practical as she is elegant. The preferred VIP layout centers on a generous full-beam master suite that indulges with his-and-hers heads, an oversized walk‑in wardrobe, and a private office. Moving forward, a VIP stateroom with a queen berth lies amidships, while the second guest cabin forward offers three berths in a smart bunk configuration, complemented by a third guest stateroom also positioned forward—each space designed for effortless comfort on extended passages.

Thoughtful highlights elevate every moment on board. The four‑stateroom VIP configuration ensures privacy for owners and guests, while the master’s his‑and‑hers heads and walk‑in wardrobe deliver a residential level of luxury. A hardtop, fully enclosed flybridge becomes an all‑weather sky lounge complete with an entertainment area and bar, and an inverter system was configured to comfortably power two air‑conditioning units and all lighting overnight. The custom open galley is tailored for long‑range provisioning with four additional Sub‑Zero freezers and extraordinary storage. Underway, stabilizers and a hydraulic bow thruster provide poised handling. A comprehensive refit in 2015 set a high watermark: main engines were remanufactured to original specifications, new generators were installed, Cruise Air systems were renewed, and the yacht received new wiring, electrical panels, and overhauled plumbing, pumps, piping, heads, and faucets—an investment in reliability, safety, and quiet confidence.

Recent upgrades from 2021 to 2023 continue the momentum. A new Zodiac 400 Yachtline tender with a 50 hp Honda outboard stands ready for shore runs and waterborne adventures. The flybridge gained a full eisenglass enclosure with a stainless‑supported Bimini extension from the existing hardtop, creating a refined, protected lounge; new teak bar and table tops add warmth and character. Throughout the yacht, waterproof laminate flooring enhances durability, while freshly painted cabinetry brightens the interior. The master bath was completely remodeled with the addition of a bathtub, new tile and flooring, and beadboard walls, and the master stateroom itself received new floors, beadboard with wallpaper accents, and new window blinds. Practical upgrades abound, including a new stackable modern full‑size vented washer/dryer, two new raw‑water pumps for the A/C systems, and a new bar beverage fridge. Exterior refinements include fully renewed non‑skid, sanded and revarnished teak rails, fresh bottom paint, and a complementary waterline boot stripe. DEkit flooring now elevates the boarding stairs, aft deck, cockpit, and swim platform. Machinery and systems were meticulously serviced: both Detroit engines received regular oil, fuel filter, and Racor service at 1,000 hours, with a completed 1,000‑hour service on the master Detroit including valve and injector adjustment and realignment; the stabilizer system was serviced; both Onan gensets received full service with new belts; and the propellers were removed, balanced, and polished. Comfort and style upgrades include new window shades and accent valances in the salon and galley, new furniture lamps in the salon conveyed, new soft goods throughout conveyed, new bow and flybridge cushions with accent pillows, ceramic detailing across the entire hull and upper decks, a new 60‑inch flat‑screen smart TV in the salon, a new 50‑inch flat‑screen smart TV, and a new Vectron 24V charger.

Significant upgrades in 2019–2020 lay the groundwork for dependable cruising: complete services on engines and generators, turbos and transmissions serviced, and the watermaker serviced. Cosmetic and mechanical refinements included fresh paint on the bow, cockpit, and swim platform, new bottom paint, tuned propellers, and rebuilt windlass and davit. All Cruise Air A/C units were serviced and cleaned, and the swim platform was freshly painted to a yacht‑finish standard.

The open‑concept, custom dine‑in galley is a chef’s ally at sea. It features an oversized refrigerator with an ice maker and pull‑out freezer, a serving station with four Sub‑Zero freezers for long‑term stores, and an island station that seats two with additional storage below. A comfortable galley bar seats three, new flooring ties the space together, and an additional forward dining area invites convivial meals underway or at anchor.

On deck, the aft deck and cockpit are purpose‑built for voyaging, with a 600‑gallon diesel fuel tank complemented by a 100‑gallon gasoline tank to feed the tender and toys. DEkit flooring enhances traction and comfort across the boarding stairs, aft deck, cockpit, and swim platform—details that matter when the sea calls.

The flybridge is a true social hub, featuring a five‑person bar with a freezer chest and soda fountain, a lounge area refreshed with new soft goods in 2021, and a handsome teak table and bar top added the same year. Additional bar seating and a dedicated entertaining area make it effortless to host, while the davit—rebuilt in 2020—handles tender operations with confidence. There is ample tender storage, and under the hardtop, the fully enclosed bridge comfortably accommodates more than twenty guests, creating a breezy, panoramic sanctuary in any weather.

Electronics and navigation are comprehensive and intuitive. Ship’s monitoring brings all tanks—fuel, freshwater, blackwater—together with bilge and engine data onto a Raymarine E125 touchscreen. The helm is further equipped with a Raymarine E125 touchscreen, two Raymarine C140w multi‑function displays, a Raymarine 12 kW SuperHD radar, Raymarine 650 AIS, and a Raymarine DSM300 digital sounder module, all complemented by an autopilot and KVH SAT TV. The vessel is wired with CAT5 to simplify future upgrades.

Audio and visual amenities are equally robust, led by a 12‑speaker Fusion stereo system with remote stations, four flat‑screen televisions, a fold‑down enclosed TV on the flybridge, and integrated security cameras for added peace of mind.

Electrical systems were modernized during the 2015 refit with all‑new wiring and new electric panels by Paneltronics in Miami. The yacht benefits from a Vectron 24V charger added in 2021 and all‑new house and engine/generator start batteries installed in 2021/22. A 6.5 kW inverter with 8x200 AMP‑hour batteries is aboard and currently noted as inoperable, even as the yacht was configured so an inverter system could comfortably power two air‑conditioning units and all lighting overnight.

Engine and mechanical systems inspire confidence. During the 2015 refit, the Detroit Diesel 12V92 main engines were removed and remanufactured to exact GM factory specifications by a certified Detroit Diesel facility, with all auxiliary alternators, starters, exhaust lines, and turbos replaced with new. Two new 21 kW Onan generators with sound shields were installed the same year. The Detroit Diesel 12V92 1075 hp T‑12V‑92TA engines show approximately 1100 hours, and the two Onan 21 kW generators report approximately 2150 hours forward and 1300 hours aft. A PTO was added in 2015 to drive the hydraulic bow thruster, and the yacht is climate‑controlled by 100,000 BTU Cruise Air A/C units and compressors installed in 2015, with auxiliary engine room controls adding redundancy. The watermaker is currently inoperable.

A capable tender package completes the picture: a Zodiac 400 Yachtline with a 50 hp Honda outboard is ready for beach landings, snorkeling spots, and sunset cruises.

Exclusions are minimal and clearly defined, with personal items, artwork, and lamps not conveying. The result is a beautifully refit, continually upgraded Hatteras that blends pedigree, power, and poise—equally at home on a weekend escape or a blue‑water crossing.
