Detailed Description
Introduction
Featuring exceptional bridge deck clearance, generous volumes and an outstanding range, the ILIAD 53F is conceived for you to go farther in consummate style. This impressive motor yacht delivers superb accommodations and expansive interior living space, rendered with exquisite craftsmanship and equipped with state-of-the-art appliances. Extraordinary outdoor areas encompass a spacious cockpit and a remarkable flybridge that sets a new benchmark for intelligent use of space, features and comfort. With abundant storage for extended passage-making and a class-leading cruising range of 2,500 nautical miles, the ILIAD 53F invites confident exploration without compromise.
Structural materials
The ILIAD 53F is built on a foundation of advanced composites: the hull bottom and sides are a GRP and PVC-core sandwich with 80–100 kg/m3 density, while the main deck and deckhouse employ a GRP/PVC sandwich with a 60 kg/m3 core. The hull lamination is entirely in vinylester resin, with all other laminates in polyester isophthalic resin, and the principal laminates are constructed by infusion for optimum strength-to-weight. GRP stiffeners are hand-laid over PVC formers directly onto the shell laminates, and the exterior is finished in white DSM gelcoat. The lower deck structural cabin sole is a GRP sandwich. Watertight and structural bulkheads are fabricated as a GRP/PVC sandwich with an 80 kg/m3 core, while partition bulkheads are in marine plywood; all bulkheads are secured to the shell by lamination. For endurance and reliability, independent fuel, freshwater, and grey and black water tanks are specified in aluminium 5052.
Engine and marine systems
Propulsion is delivered by 2 x 550HP Cummins engines (upgrade from 440HP) turning through twin shaft-drive gearboxes to duplex stainless-steel shafts within GRP sterntubes, driving Cu3 four-blade fixed propellers and steered by twin 316L stainless-steel rudders under a Sea-Star hydraulic system with Sea-Star helm. Close-quarters control is enhanced by one bow thruster. Machinery is housed in two dedicated engine rooms accessed via main-deck hatches, insulated with Pyrotek Sorberbarrier, ventilated by two air inlets with moisture eliminators and two forced-air blowers, and protected by four fire dampers with remote shut-off and two Seafire automatic fire-suppression systems with heat sensors and alarms. Exhaust noise is tamed by Centek mufflers on the main engines and generator. Fuel integrity and serviceability are ensured by two engine fuel filters, a genset fuel filter, a fuel transfer pump and Trident 365 fuel hose, with bonding via a copper strip 4 x 32 mm. Hotel loads are supported by an Onan 17.5 kW generator with muffler and gas-water separator (upgrade from 13.5 kW), 65,000 BTU Climma CWS air conditioning with inverter, and a Sea Recovery Aqua Whisper Mini 1400-2 watermaker producing 211 L/h (upgrade). Shipwide resilience includes eight bilge pumps with high-water alarms, a 60 L/16 gal water heater, two freshwater pumps, three grey-water sump pumps with tank, dedicated macerators for grey and black waters, three deck-wash points at cockpit, bow and flybridge, two engine-room cameras, a docking camera and performance-optimizing interceptors.
Electrical system
A bonded electrical system with a ground plate underpins 24VDC and 220/110VAC ship systems. Starting power comes from two 150 Ah AGM gel batteries for the engines and one 150 Ah AGM gel battery for the generator, while a 24V 600 Ah lithium house bank sustains onboard comforts. Power management is handled by a Victron Multiplus 24/5000/120 inverter/charger and a Victron Orion 24/12-40 converter, complemented by 1,600 W solar panels on the hard-top (upgrade). Distribution is through AC/DC main switchboard panels with BEP circuit breakers and fuses, Vimar switches and 220/110V Vimar sockets throughout, and shoreside connectivity via two 50A Marinco cords. Lighting is provided by Quick Spa interior and exterior LEDs and Hella Marine navigation and anchor lights.
Electronics
Precision and situational awareness are delivered by a Raymarine P70 autopilot; four Raymarine Axiom Pro 16” multifunction displays—two on the flybridge and two at the main-deck helm (upgrade); a Raymarine i70, echo sounder and GPS RS130 integrated on a Raymarine backbone with all cabling; AIS with antenna; VHF with antenna; a Raymarine CP100 fish-finder sensor with CPT120 transducer; and FLIR Quantum Q24C radar. A chain counter adds exacting control while anchoring.
Exterior outfitting
Outdoor life unfolds on a hydraulic lifting stern platform, extendable up and down and finished in teak (upgrade), complemented by an aft cockpit folding-edge teak table and a flybridge coffee/dining table in teak on a fixed pedestal. The flybridge galley is comprehensively equipped with a stainless-steel Kenyon Texan electric grill with hood and a Vitrifrigo IM XT OCX2 HYDRO ice maker, plus a drawer fridge, sink with hot and cold faucet and a solid-surface countertop. Seamanship essentials include a horn, a remotely controlled dash-mounted searchlight, six fenders and mooring lines, a black primer coat and antifouling, and Propspeed treatment on shafts and propellers. The hull features a structural keel, seven hull portlights and a stainless-steel cap rub-rail, with four Lewmar deck hatches and a large windshield hatch on the main deck. Robust hardware comprises eight 13” stainless-steel mooring cleats and two 15” stainless-steel bollards, a vertical Quick windlass 2000 W 24 V with chain counter, and two stainless-steel bow pulpits with teak seats. Safety and comfort are furthered by 316L stainless-steel handrails on the main deck and flybridge, cockpit stern gates in stainless steel, two hot/cold shower faucets at the port and starboard transom steps, and a Swissway swim ladder with Carina railing, telescopic 3 + 2, hidden and flush-mounted in the transom. Overhead, a GRP hard-top with stainless-steel navigation mast shades the flybridge helm station complete with engine controls and displays, a tilt-mechanism steering wheel and a magnetic compass, while the flybridge windscreen blends 316L stainless steel with dark acrylic. All outdoor cushions are upholstered in Sunbrella fabric, all GRP non-skid areas are molded into the laminate, a flybridge stairs hatch secures movement, and a gate closes access to the aft upper deck. Nighttime allure comes from six Aqualuma underwater lights in blue or white, while a Flexiteek laid deck spans the boarding steps, cockpit, flybridge stairs and flybridge. Ground tackle and tender handling are effortless with a Lewmar DTX anchor 40 kg/88 lb on 60 m/196 ft of 10 mm/3’8” short-link chain, a stainless-steel davit lifting system with an electric winch rated to 250 kg, and a Glomex TV antenna.
Interior outfitting
Everyday ease meets elevated refinement inside: a combination washer/dryer and a dishwasher streamline life aboard, while a fridge-freezer, induction cooktop hob and a galley oven–microwave combination empower effortless cooking. Entertainment is immersive with a Fusion system featuring two speakers in the saloon and cockpit, remote control, amplifier and subwoofer, and a saloon TV on an electric lift sized for a 50” screen (not standard). Tactile quality is evident in 316L stainless-steel interior handrails and LG HI-MACS solid-surface countertops in the galley and bathrooms, complemented by BLUM drawer systems and cabinet hinges. The main-deck galley/dinette area is finished in parquet laminate, all bathrooms feature teak flooring, and the interior is appointed with timber-veneer furniture and décor, ceiling and wall panels in synthetic leather, and sofas and seats upholstered in synthetic leather—Ultra Leather by Ultra Fabrics. A saloon coffee table with two ottomans, a dinette table with two stools and drawer storage beneath the dinette sofa complete a space that is as practical as it is refined.
