Overview

The ILIAD 62 is a fuel‑efficient luxury power catamaran engineered for true bluewater cruising, delivering an outstanding range of 3,500+ nm. Its 1.15 m bridge‑deck clearance at half load elevates performance and poise, minimizing slap while showcasing a sleek, purposeful profile. Crafted for relaxation and social life, it offers multiple alfresco zones, including a sumptuous flybridge with its own galley, plus a wide aft cockpit that transitions seamlessly to the interior galley and saloon. Accommodations are expansive and refined, featuring oversized ensuites, abundant natural light, and excellent privacy in every cabin. For extended cruising, the owner’s hull can be appointed with a laundry, workshop, office, and separate crew quarters. Practicality and safety shine through with options for traditional davits or a hydraulic transom‑lift platform for effortless tender launch, clutter‑free walk‑around decks, and an ergonomically designed stairway to the flybridge. Owners can personalize the yacht with bespoke layouts, finishes, and equipment to craft a vessel that reflects their style.

If you’re considering luxury multihulls and motor yachts such as Sunreef, Leopard, Lagoon, Horizon, Aquila, Two Oceans, Fountaine Pajot, or Longreach, the ILIAD 62 distinguishes itself as a cruising catamaran, flybridge motor yacht, and multihull passagemaker—an elegant explorer catamaran with superior build quality, exceptional long‑range capability, and remarkably spacious interiors ideal for liveaboard cruising.

Detailed Description

Structural materials

The hull bottoms and sides are engineered as a GRP sandwich with a PVC core in graded densities of 80, 100, and 130 kg/m3 for optimal stiffness-to-weight performance. The main deck and deckhouse are likewise crafted in GRP sandwich with a 60 kg/m3 PVC core, while the hull is fully laminated in vinylester resin and all other laminates employ polyester isophtalic resin. Every laminate is meticulously executed with hand lay-up on the surface layers followed by infusion of the main laminate, and the GRP stiffeners are hand-laminated onto PVC formers directly onto the shell. The lower deck features a structural cabin sole in GRP sandwich, and all watertight and structural bulkheads are constructed in GRP/PVC sandwich with an 80 kg/m3 core. A white DSM gelcoat delivers a flawless finish, the twin hulls incorporate a structural keel, and all tanks are fabricated in aluminium 5052. For secure footing, all GRP non-skid areas are molded integrally into the laminate.

Engine room and marine systems

Propulsion is delivered by 2 x Volvo D8 600 HP engines supported by a Generator Onan 17.5 kW, with precise low-speed control from 2 x electric bow thrusters Side Power and trim optimization via 4 x interceptors. Climate is assured by a Climma CWS Aquacontrol 96,000 BTU air-conditioning system, supplemented on the hardtop by 4 x 400-watt glass-framed solar panels with integrated regulators and charging system. The yacht features 2 x engine rooms accessed from hatches on the main deck, lined with Pyrotek Sorberbarrier 50/4 insulation with a waterproof inner surface and perforated aluminium sheet wall cladding. The driveline comprises 2 x duplex steel shafts running in GRP stern tubes with Tide Marine shaft seals, steering via Seastar electric hydraulic steering to 2 x stainless-steel 316L rudders, and thrust from 2 x propellers (Cu3), each with 4 fixed blades. Exhaust noise is attenuated by Centek mufflers on both main engines and generator, while engine rooms benefit from 2 x air blowers for forced ventilation, four fire dampers with remote shut-off, and two moisture eliminators at the engine-room ventilation inlets. Safety and reliability are further enhanced by an Automatic/Manual Seafire fire-suppression system with heat sensors and alarm, Racor fuel filters for both main engines and generator, a fuel transfer pump, and Trident 365 fuel hose. Bilge management is comprehensive with 8 x 24V 2000 GPH automatic bilge pumps, each with high-water alarm, alongside one 80 lts/21 gal water heater, 2 x freshwater pumps (Headhunter), 3 x grey-water sump pumps with tank, 2 x grey-water macerator pumps, and 2 x black-water macerator pumps. At the stern, a shore freshwater connection adds convenience, as do two mooring capstans 1500 W 24V and a hydraulic Tender-Lift extendable swim platform with a net capacity of 450 kg / 990 lbs.

Navigation and communication

Confident passage-making comes courtesy of an autopilot with Raymarine p70 control head and two Raymarine Axiom Pro 16" multifunction displays at the flybridge helm. Detailed underwater intelligence is provided by the Raymarine CP100 fishfinder sensor with CPT120 transducer, while situational awareness is heightened by a Raymarine Quantum Q24C radar and two Raymarine day/night docking cameras mounted aft-facing on the cockpit ceiling. The suite further includes a Raymarine i70, echo sounder, GPS Raymarine RS130, VHF with antenna, AIS with antenna, complete with Raymarine backbone cables and engine room cameras. Precision anchoring is aided by a chain counter on the flybridge, and signaling is assured by a horn and a powerful searchlight.

Electrical system

Reliability is built into the colour-coded marine wiring and a bonded electrical system with ground plate, powering comprehensive 24VDC and 220/110VAC ship systems. Starting power comes from 150 Ah AGM gel-type batteries for the engines and a 150 Ah AGM gel-type start battery for the generator, backed by a robust 24V 800 a/h lithium house bank. Power management is handled by a Victron Quattro 24/5000/120 inverter/charger and a Victron Orion 24/12-40 converter, with protection via BEP circuit breakers and fuses. Illumination is provided by marine-grade interior and exterior LED lighting, complemented by stainless-steel navigation and anchor lights, all distributed through main AC/DC switchboard panels. Shoreside connectivity includes 2 x 32A shore power connections, with 220/110V sockets throughout and refined control from Vimar switches.

Exterior outfitting

Nine hull portlights with integrated flyscreens bring natural light into the interior, complemented by three Lewmar Mitre flush deck hatches in size 44 and two in size 60, each with flyscreen and shade. The deckhouse and hull windows are fashioned from heat‑strengthened laminated glass, with access via a black aluminium-framed cockpit sliding door and a matching foredeck door. A pair of stainless-steel gates secure the stern, while eight 13" stainless-steel mooring cleats and 2 x 17" stainless-steel bollards provide robust docking options. At the bow, a vertical 3000 W 24V windlass with foot switch and remote controls works with a stainless-steel bow roller and chain stopper, and continuous safety is ensured by stainless-steel 316L handrails on the main deck and flybridge with side gates. Practicality is elevated with a deckwash freshwater outlet at three points—cockpit, chain locker, and flybridge—plus a hot/cold shower faucet at the swim platform. Boarding is effortless thanks to a Swissway swim ladder with Carina railing, a telescopic 3+2 design concealed flush in the transom. Above, a GRP hardtop carries the navigation mast and shelters the flybridge helm station with a double Besenzoni Dragonfly pilot seat, GRP-moulded sofas with internal storage, a GRP storage locker, and a GRP bar cabinet with sink and water faucet, Solid Surface top (LG HI-MACS), teak bar top, and stools, all screened by a stainless-steel 316L and dark acrylic windscreen. The helm presents engine controls and displays, and every outdoor cushion is upholstered in Sunbrella fabric. Nighttime allure comes from 6 x underwater lights at the stern. Underfoot, Flexiteek synthetic teak enhances the cockpit, flybridge stairs, and swim platforms, as well as the flybridge itself. Dining alfresco is a pleasure at the aft cockpit teak table with wings, opening to 220 x 90 cm, and the flybridge teak table with wings, opening to 200 x 80 cm. Ground tackle is uncompromising with a Delta HHP 65 kg anchor paired with 100 m of 12 mm chain, grade AM2, while docking is simplified by 6 x 12" cylindrical fenders and mooring lines. The underwater body is protected with antifouling paint, and Propspeed paint guards the rudders and propellers. Entertaining is effortless with a 144 L drawer fridge on the flybridge and a matching ice maker.

Interior outfitting

Inside, the yacht welcomes with stainless-steel 316L handrails and refined Solid Surface countertops (LG HI-MACS) in the galley and bathrooms, with BLUM drawer systems and hinges throughout. The main deck features parquet or laminate flooring, the lower-deck cabins are carpeted, and all bathrooms and showers are finished with teak flooring. Furniture in timber veneer sits on honeycomb cores, while ceilings and walls are wrapped in Soffkin synthetic leather; seating is upholstered in Ultraleather synthetic leather with an option for genuine leather. A sliding dinette table adapts to every occasion. Privacy and light control are assured by manual pleated blinds on the lower deck and roller blinds in the bathrooms, while comfort at night comes from memory foam mattresses. The galley is equipped with a stainless-steel sink with hot/cold water faucet, and all bathrooms benefit from air extraction fans, electric toilets with macerator, ceramic washbasins, premium bathroom and shower fixtures, and a separate shower stall with teak grating. Entertainment flows through a Fusion system with two speakers in the salon, two in the cockpit, two on the flybridge, plus an amplifier, subwoofer, and a flybridge remote control panel. An electric TV lift in the saloon accommodates a 55" TV (television not included). Cold storage is abundant with 3 x double drawer fridge/freezers of 144 L each, while cooking is handled by a 4‑unit induction hob with hood above and a 60 cm combination oven/microwave; a wine cooler and a 60 cm dishwasher complete the galley. On the flybridge, an electric grill with cover elevates open‑air dining. Convenience extends to motorized blinds on the main deck and a combination washer/dryer. The interior helm station includes a pilot seat, navigation instruments, and two 12" Raymarine Axiom Pro monitors.
