Overview
If you’re seeking a voluminous luxury motor yacht with a generous country galley and four staterooms, ALENIEL is a standout, delivering the footprint of far larger superyachts. Extensively refreshed over the past three years, she suits an owner who prizes the classic, impeccably executed American‑style arrangement, highlighted by an expansive aft deck and commanding flybridge. The result is a flybridge yacht that feels much bigger than her length, yet keeps a warm, welcoming ambiance.
The foredeck is an unexpected delight, as many boats overlook this prime real estate. Here you’ll find a full sunpad and convivial seating, an ideal perch for sweeping views and unforgettable sunsets.
Inside, the décor impresses with rich joinery and bespoke furnishings. Across the last two owners, approximately $1.8 million has been invested in upgrades and enhancements, and the current steward has continued the refinement, making her a benchmark example within her category.
In 2025, both Northern Lights generators were reset to mechanical zero and fitted with new hour meters. A full‑time captain attends to her daily, proactively maintaining and improving systems so the yacht presents beautifully and operates with reassuring reliability.
Her unmistakable Bill Dixon silhouette—with distinctive upper and lower vertical glazing—gives the profile a timeless, iconic stance. This very platform remains in production today, now offered as a 93 with an extended stern platform.
Step through the electric stainless doors and the interior volume is immediately apparent, courtesy of her 23'6" beam. She carries significantly more beam than most competitors—just inches shy of a 112' Westport—which is why this Johnson 87 stands apart among yachts in this size band.
That breadth is most evident in the capacious salon and the light-filled country kitchen with atrium, while still allowing generous walk‑around side decks and four distinct boarding points. For blue‑water comfort and confidence, she features ABT‑TRAC stabilizers, hydraulic bow and stern thrusters, and Dockmate wireless docking, enabling precise control from virtually anywhere aboard. There are also twin wing stations to port and starboard on the aft main deck, with additional controls on the flybridge and in the raised pilothouse (RPH).
Power comes from the sought‑after Caterpillar C32s, renowned for durability and global support, with all services current and documented.
For buyers considering yachts up to 112 feet, this Johnson 87 is a delightful surprise—and this example will impress on condition. She comfortably sleeps eight in four cabins, perfect for four couples.

Detailed Description
Previous refit updates
In 2023, the interior was comprehensively renewed: headliners and wall coverings were refreshed, custom salon furniture was installed with a pullout sofa for additional guests, and drapery and carpet were replaced. Mattresses, bedding, headboards, and linens were upgraded, the owner’s accommodation was re-insulated and soundproofed, and interior upholstery was renewed. All heads and toilets were refurbished, the twin accommodation in the port cabin was converted to a queen, and hardware throughout was transitioned from gold and brass to silver. Lighting was upgraded from halogen to LED, the galley received new appliances, a Miele washer and dryer were added, navigation equipment and electronics were refreshed, and air conditioning ducting and air handlers were renewed.
Also in 2023, the exterior benefited from NuTeak decks, tables refinished in Sandalwood Metallic, and new exterior upholstery. Exterior lighting moved from halogen to LED, a standalone BBQ grill was added, and refrigeration, an ice maker, and a deep freezer were upgraded. Navigation equipment and electronics were updated, three life-rafts were replaced to accommodate eighteen persons, and both helm seating and the steering wheel were renewed.
Electronics were modernized in 2023 with Garmin MFD’s, Garmin AutoPilot, and a Garmin Fish Finder. The helm features CAT engine room monitors, and entertainment is delivered through a JBL Fusion AV system paired with JL Audio speakers.
In the machinery space, where all services are up to date, reliability and longevity were prioritized with new CAT engine sensors; a CAT after-cooler and cooling system refit; and replacement CAT hoses, rings, and clamps. Hydraulic system pumps, hoses, and clamps were renewed; AC chillers were replaced and an air handler added to the machinery space; and the fresh water pump was replaced with the installation of a secondary fresh water pump. The blackwater system was refit with the addition of a sewage treatment system, and the fuel tank was refit with a drain, deep interior clean, and fuel polish. Two Norther Light generator services were completed, including replacement of cooling systems, hoses, and clamps. AGM batteries and battery chargers were replaced, thru-hull fittings were renewed, and the hull was stripped and refit with three layers of fiberglass from bow to stern, followed by a full bottom job encompassing hull, running gear, and zincs. Underwater lighting, along with the fire fighting system and detectors, was also replaced.
