Hull and deck

The hull and deck of this yacht are a testament to superior craftsmanship and innovative design. The Edson steering pedestal is finished with a mahogany compass rim, and the stainless steel seven-spoke steering wheel also boasts a mahogany rim. A stainless steel Ritchie compass with light ensures precise navigation, while custom stainless boxes house the GPS plotter and autopilot.

The cockpit is equipped with four lockers, cushions, and backrests for added comfort, along with five strategically placed cockpit lights. A dodger and a zip-on low aft section cockpit cover provide protection from the elements. Cabin

The electrical system includes three AC sockets providing 110 Volt power, catering to various onboard needs. Rigging and sails

The yacht is equipped with a hydraulic boom vang and hydraulic backstay, allowing for effortless adjustments to sail trim. A Windex provides wind direction indication, while the performance T-bulb keel, constructed with a lead bulb and stainless steel GRP fin, ensures superior stability and speed.

For sail handling, the yacht boasts an electric below-deck mounted Furlex TD 200 mm Genoa furler with a tensioner, making sail deployment and retrieval smooth and efficient. The self-tailing halyard winch, Lewmar EVO 40 Chrome, and two self-tailing jib sheet winches, Lewmar EVO 45 Chrome, provide reliable and easy sail control. Additionally, an electric captive mainsheet winch, Lewmar CW800, is mounted below deck for seamless operation.

The rigging system includes two Antal stainless steel genoa tracks with cars and two stainless steel Antal jib sheet pad blocks, ensuring precise sail adjustment. Five Spinlock stoppers add to the efficiency and safety of the sail handling system.

The yacht's sail inventory features North Sails NPC cross-cut sails, upgraded to 3Di Endurance for enhanced durability and performance. The mainsail measures 39.3 m², while the furling jib is 100% at 30.9 m². A mainsail cover is included to protect the sails when not in use. I sought more waterline length and enhanced sailing performance, and I was particularly intrigued by the innovative approach Leonardo Yachts takes with sail controls on the Eagle 44. The use of a captive reel winch under the deck for the mainsheet, along with a separate powered winch forward in the cockpit primarily for the main halyard, caught my attention. But beyond the technical aspects, the look of this boat is truly something else. She is incredibly beautiful and exceptionally well built.

The Eagle 44 boasts a truly comfortable cockpit for guests and is a sheer joy to sail, which I do not hesitate to do singlehanded. She has exceeded my expectations in every way. The only reason she is for sale is to make room in my life for a new Oyster and the upcoming Oyster World Rally. This yacht has been a remarkable part of my sailing journey, and I am confident she will bring the same joy and satisfaction to her next owner.
