Overview
HULL #4 Delivered May 2025
MCP Global Exp 68
Conceived by MCP YACHTS engineers Damien Chaves and Manoel Chaves—two generations of passionate sailors and aluminum shipbuilders—the Global Exp 68 was created to be a sustainable, ocean‑going yacht that delivers comfort and security to cruisers everywhere.
Developed by TEAM MCP, the Global Exp 68 blends the refinement, safety, and composure of an MCP Yacht with the soul of an expedition sailing yacht. It is a true bluewater cruiser and performance passagemaker, designed for long‑range adventure without compromising elegance.
Aluminum and material technology: The hull is crafted in 5083 aluminum alloy (Lloyd’s Register certified), exceptionally light yet immensely strong, non‑flammable, non‑absorbent, and up to ten times stiffer than heavier fiberglass counterparts. Intelligent joinery and low‑density composite structures keep weight down and elevate performance, delivering a lively, responsive sailing yacht.
This smart construction is matched by meticulous craftsmanship to create an aluminum explorer sailing yacht that champions sustainability and safety, while offering a serene, first‑class cruising experience for voyagers across the globe.
1 - Aft Cabin Master Stateroom A sanctuary of volume and luxury featuring a king‑size berth, private office, full‑height wardrobes, a lounge sofa, and a beautifully appointed, remarkably spacious bathroom.
2 - Cockpit and Doghouse The centralized cockpit maximizes space in the aft suite and sits beneath a gracefully sculpted hardtop. A rigid doghouse replaces fragile canvas dodgers and biminis, eliminating the hassle of covers so the yacht always looks immaculate and is instantly ready to sail.
3 - Engine Room A standout feature: a fully enclosed, full‑height machinery space with easy access through a watertight door with manual dogs, aluminum watertight bulkheads, and immaculate acoustic insulation rated to withstand temperatures up to 600°C.
4 - Raised Salon and Pilothouse Quiet passages in challenging weather. The raised salon integrates a protected pilothouse within the main lounge, offering panoramic sea views along with autopilot controls, navigation electronics, engine levers, and windlass controls—true offshore cruiser capability.
5 - Swing Keel A hydraulic retractable keel that occupies minimal space along the centerline. With the keel raised, draft is just 1.85 m, safeguarding the propeller and rudder for confident anchorage approaches. When lowered, the system is mechanically, hydraulically, and structurally robust; in the event of impact, the hydraulics act as an effective energy absorber.
6 - Electronics Technical Area A dedicated, ventilated bay for navigation systems, battery chargers, and monitoring equipment—ensuring the ideal environment for delicate onboard electronics.
7 - Midship Cabins Unique guest suites made possible by the raised‑salon layout. These cozy amidships cabins enjoy privileged waterline views, feature comfortable double berths, fold‑away sofas, abundant storage, and private bathrooms. Ventilation flows from side portlights and large ocean hatches that also serve as emergency exits.
8 - Forward Cabin A generous, inviting suite that could serve as a master on many yachts of this size. Flooded with natural light, it includes a large double berth, a settee, extensive storage with a private closet, and a well‑proportioned bathroom. Bow access leads directly to the forward technical space.
9 - Bow Technical Area A purpose‑built workshop and tool stowage zone designed for maintenance and shipboard projects—ideal for self‑sufficient expedition sailing.
