Detailed Description
Key features
A spacious yacht designed for far‑flung horizons, Langkawi Lady welcomes eighteen guests across eight well‑appointed staterooms, including a large Owner’s suite and a VIP suite, all attended by a professional crew of fifteen. Generous salons and open decks invite relaxed dining and lively entertaining, while an approximate four‑thousand‑nautical‑mile cruising range empowers the adventurous yachtsman to explore Asian waters with friends or family. M.Y. Langkawi is certified for classification through November 2028, is ready to roam international waters once again, and a survey can be organized at short notice.
Measuring 48 m (157’06”) LOA, with an 8.66 m (28’05”) beam and a 3.29 m (10’10”) draft, this Sterling build was launched in 1983 and refitted in 2006, 2010, and from 2021 to 2023. The hull is carbon fibre reinforced alloy topped by a fibre glass superstructure, and she flies the Malaysian flag under SCM (Shipping Certification Malaysia) classification. Capable of 14 knots maximum and 10 knots at cruise, she displaces a gross tonnage of 540 tonnes with a net tonnage of 162 tonnes and offers an approximate range of 4,000 nm. Guest accommodation comprises eighteen guests in eight cabins, supported by accommodations for fifteen crew members.
Propulsion comes from two Caterpillar 3512TA V12 775 kW diesels, while ship’s power is delivered by two Caterpillar 3406T 225 HP diesel generators feeding 415 V three‑phase and 220 V single‑phase systems. Comfort and control underway are enhanced by Naiad Anti‑Roll Model 525 stabilizers and Side‑Power bow thrusters. Freshwater autonomy is assured by Sea Recovery water makers—two units—producing 5,300 and 6,814 litres per day respectively, for a combined capacity of approximately 12,000 litres per day. The bridge is equipped with Furuno navigation electronics alongside an autopilot, Furuno radar, AIS, magnetic compass, gyro compass, VHF radio, chart plotter, GPS, and an echo sounder.
Robust tankage includes 83,000 litres of fuel and 35,000 litres of fresh water, complemented by the high‑capacity water‑making capability noted above.
The interior main deck flows from a welcoming main saloon to a bar counter, dining area, and the main galley, with the master stateroom and the VIP room forward, both with ensuite bathrooms. On the lower deck, six guest rooms are arranged as two double bedrooms, two twin bedrooms, and two triple bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms. The upper deck hosts the wheelhouse, chart room, and a study room, while the sun deck crowns the yacht with a helipad, two davits, and tenders.
Entertainment is served by a Seatel antenna for Astro, a computerized karaoke sound system, and an MP3 music system. Deck and safety gear includes four life rafts, life buoys, fire extinguishers, EPIRB, EEBD, fire sprinklers, and a portable water pump complete with fire hose, among other equipment. The galley and laundry are comprehensively appointed with a fridge, freezer and cold room, plus washing machines and a dryer. Tenders and toys feature a Boston Whaler fibre glass speed boat (21 feet) with a 200 HP four‑stroke engine and a Nouvurania speed boat (RIB) with a 115 HP four‑stroke engine.
Between March 2021 and November 2023, extensive works and refits were completed, including general services; the stabilizer system; sea check valves; the hydraulic steering ram; engine room ventilation trunking; the anchor windlass foundation and the anchor windlass itself; sea water and chiller system suction strainer upgrades; painting and blasting, including antifouling; renewal of port and starboard anchors and anchor chains; polishing of port and starboard shafts and propellers; port and starboard sea chest gratings; navigation equipment updates; CCTV and intercom; underwater hull fiber area lamination; new zinc anodes; the FM‑200 system; the air‑conditioning system; an emergency main‑engine shutdown from the bridge wheelhouse; two fireproof walkie‑talkies; instrumentation to monitor engine operation from the bridge; reinforcement of the crane foundation; starboard davit crane electrical and electronic works; and generator alternator/dynamo and switchboard servicing.
