Detailed Description
Updates and upgrades
Recently completed, a complete new bottom job anchors a suite of mechanical and cosmetic refinements. Fresh zincs have been installed, the bow thruster and propeller professionally reconditioned, and the shafts thoroughly checked. All new cutlass bearings and shaft seals were fitted, followed by precise realignment of the engine to the shafts for smooth, efficient running. Rudder bearings and seals were replaced, the transom received a lustrous clear coat, and the port transmission was fully serviced. Confidence offshore is further enhanced by a Seakeeper Gyro M3500 with warranty good through 08/2028.
Exterior and construction
The beautiful lines and sleek profile of “Speculator” turn heads wherever she ties up, blending the amenities of both a sportfish and a motor yacht with effortless poise. From the rear-facing lower mezzanine you can watch your spread in total comfort, then step up to the salon on the main deck to entertain around a full table with abundant seating. The main deck elevates every gathering with a drop-down TV, dual grills, and a generous prep area. Attention to detail is evident throughout, with numerous upgrades and custom touches that make “Speculator” one of the most striking vessels on the water. Hand-picked upholstery and stone selected by an experienced interior decorator underscore a bespoke sensibility that is truly one of a kind.
On deck and topsides, her presentation is as purposeful as it is polished. A salon forward window mask refines the exterior aesthetic, while the hull was painted Flag Blue in March 2020 and is complemented by an enclosed flybridge and a DuPont high gloss polyurethane boot stripe. Practical enhancements include a polished anchor with a dedicated fresh water wash system, a freshwater washdown feed for the tower with shutoff, and a fender track neatly concealed beneath the rubrail. A faux teak toe rail finished with Clearkote adds warmth and elegance. Below the waterline, bottom paint was renewed in December 2025 with ablative/copolymer anti-fouling over the Interlux Interprotected epoxy primer system, and performance details extend to propeller pockets that reduce draft. Engineering-minded touches abound, from an aluminum mounting plate laminated into the cockpit deck for a fighting chair or table, to Awlgrip-coated bronze thru-hulls and sea strainers paired with fiberglass side thru-hulls, and Awlgrip-finished spaces including the engine room, lazarette, forward bilge, and anchor locker.
Her construction is executed to a superior standard. Custom-blended polyester resin is employed in the structural laminates, topsides, bridges, and hardtops, while the hull interior features a custom-color isophthalic gelcoat. The hull is infused using Baltek end grain balsa, and critical systems benefit from infused fiberglass fuel, water, and holding tanks with fiberglass baffles and balsa coring on the sides for added stiffness. The salon and galley floors are molded fiberglass with a foam core for strength without weight, and the structural grid features fiberglass-encapsulated foam stringers. A transducer location is molded into the hull, and vacuum bagged composite structural bulkheads deliver impressive rigidity. Practicality meets reliability with a fiberglass holding tank offering both dockside and overboard pumpout. Inside, a rich walnut interior finish completes the picture of craftsmanship and refinement.
Enclosed flybridge
Step into the enclosed flybridge and discover a custom layout that transforms the space into a serene retreat. The entertainment center has been shifted to starboard, while the L-shaped sofa to port has been thoughtfully extended to enhance relaxation. A clear icemaker and a custom prep sink allow you to enjoy your favorite beverages without returning to the galley. The design continues with a dewberry-style sofa that opens and closes via electric motor, walnut cabinetry, a walnut cocktail table, and carpet flooring, all framed by upholstered valances and a baby ostrich gelato headliner for an unmistakably refined ambiance.
Command is effortless from both forward and aft control stations. The forward control station offers all necessary control switches and a wraparound helm console with black ultraleather surfaces and a visor to reduce glare, providing clean access to all electronics components. A custom pod integrates single-lever controls with a top-mounted stainless steel steering wheel, while a Stidd helm chair in ultraleather, fully adjustable with footrest, sits beneath a hatch above the helm for light and ventilation. To the aft, a console-style control station delivers full engine controls, a radio box for switches, and recessed electronics, with an aft-facing jump seat for optimal observation of the cockpit. A touch screen control monitor with audible and visible alarms keeps critical systems at your fingertips, and a phone outlet stands ready for connectivity.
Seating is generous and versatile. Stidd double-wide chairs serve as companion seats to port and starboard and are complemented by starboard and port jump seats, with additional seating on the port side and an L-shaped lounge with integrated storage. A clear icemaker with an additional filter is positioned just aft of the port jump seat. Large under-helm storage and easy-access service space make maintenance straightforward and discreet. Entertainment is equally considered with a flat screen TV and a 12V stereo with CD/DVD player.
Climate and visibility are expertly managed. Air conditioning on the aft bridge deck provides reverse-cycle heat, temperature control, and a dehumidification mode, while larger condensation pans have been installed beneath the A/C condensers for improved moisture management. The laminated, curved, safety-glass windshield pairs with electric windshield wipers featuring intermittent controls and washers, assisted by defoggers and an upholstered overhead wiper box with integrated switches. Fixed side and aft windows admit abundant natural light yet maintain the quiet, secure feel of the enclosure.
Finishes and access details are elevated throughout. A weatherproof, lockable aft flybridge door has been faux painted to match the interior woodwork and is set over a polished stainless steel threshold. A staircase rises from the salon to the interior bridge entry, and a hatch in the overhang, paired with a powder coated ladder, grants convenient access to the hardtop. The pedestal for the flybridge ladder is upgraded to polished stainless, while a powder coated aluminum aft railing and flybridge ladder provide strength with a refined aesthetic. A freshwater washdown is neatly housed in the radar pod atop the hardtop, and a central vacuum unit simplifies housekeeping.
Anglers and navigators alike will appreciate the purposeful equipment. Recessed electric teaser reels—Miya Epoch 24v US9 with remotes—keep the overhead clean and efficient, and a watermaker control panel is ideally positioned on the flybridge. Lighting is comprehensive and atmospheric, with tri-color lights in the aft overhang, tri-color lighting offering red, white, and blue tones, overhead recessed LED lighting, and quartz lights for brilliant task illumination. Additional features include polished stainless steel trim, companion seats to port and starboard, a forward-facing hatch above the helm chair, companion hatches for hardtop access, a steering wheel in stainless steel, a custom pod with single-lever controls, a central radio box, a weather-sealed door, and a touch panel for systems oversight—all culminating in an enclosed flybridge that seamlessly blends luxury, ergonomics, and offshore capability.
Cockpit and aft deck
The 92 Viking presents dual mezzanine decks—one in the cockpit and the second on the main-level aft deck—where the upper mezzanine offers rear-facing lounge seating, an additional seating area, and a table for effortless al fresco dining, all served by an outside galley and grilling area for added convenience. Comfort is elevated with air conditioning on the aft salon deck and an air-conditioned backrest for the mezzanine’s aft seat, while plush mezzanine cushions invite relaxation. Illumination is thoughtfully curated with tri-color lights in the aft deck overhang, tri-color rope lights under the coaming, and small LED spreader lights in the overhang, complemented by a flip-down TV discreetly integrated into the aft deck overhang. Shade solutions include a cockpit sunshade, a Costa cockpit cover, and a Costa sunshade with poles.
Anglers will appreciate a transom plumbed as a livewell with side manifolds to fill the box evenly, a refrigerated mezzanine livewell box, scuppers threaded for an on-deck livewell drain, and a solid transom coaming with an integrated fish box. Hardware and power are equally robust, featuring Release Marine boltless rod holders and a Release Marine Trillion fighting chair, two twenty-four-volt outlets forward under the coaming—one on each side—rated at twenty amps maximum, and twelve-volt outlets for kite reels as an upgrade. A custom extended Cablemaster sits eight inches aft of the forward edge of the door opening for tidy shore-power management. Culinary flair comes courtesy of two grills housed in the salon deck starboard-side hatch, perfectly positioned to serve the outdoor galley.
The aesthetic is unmistakably upscale, with a faux teak transom finished in clearkote and a suite of notable upgrades that include a teak deck in the cockpit, a teak mezzanine, teak aft deck and ladder treads, and teak covering boards and coaming boards, culminating in a cockpit that is as refined as it is relentlessly capable.
Galley and salon
This 92 Viking is appointed in a rich walnut satin finish and capitalizes on its commanding 24'1" beam to create a single, expansive living area where the salon flows seamlessly into the galley. Two custom Dewberry‑style sofas anchor the space, each hinging open and closing electrically for effortless access to generous under‑seat storage, and they orient toward a custom‑designed entertainment suite featuring a Samsung 65" 4K Ultra HD 3D TV, a Samsung Blu‑ray player with upscaling, 3D, Wi‑Fi, and 4K capability, a Kaleidscape entertainment system, an Origin 6.5" sound system, and a James Custom QX3LCR soundbar, with a wine chiller conveniently placed in the salon.
The galley is genuinely massive, with undercounter Subzero refrigeration whose slam‑style latch is complemented by wood handles, an upgraded Wolf cooktop with downdraft blower, a Wolf oven, a trash compactor, and abundant storage. A new galley countertop fitted in 2020 crowns custom Amtico galley flooring, while across the way a dining table for six is paired with dining chairs and flanked by a shadowbox in the dinette bulkhead; for casual meals, a cluster of bar stools surrounds the galley. Just forward, a pair of walk‑in pantries and a full day head enhance the yacht’s liveability, with the pantry area offering a raised shelf/bed with a pullout drawer below and salon pantry flooring finished in wild walnut straight plank.
Details elevate every touchpoint, from the stainless steel threshold and partial‑canvas carpet runner to two upgraded salon chairs, new in 2020. The salon also benefits from all new light fixtures added in 2020, LED lighting throughout, window blinds, a faux‑painted salon door, a touch screen control monitor with audible and visible alarms, and 110‑volt outlets set on separate breakers. Climate control is comprehensive, with air conditioning and heat, and the signature walnut satin finish continues throughout to complete this refined, welcoming space.
Engine room
Power is delivered by the MTU 16V-2000 M96L at 2600 BHP, supported by upgraded generators to 55 KW and an additional forward fuel tank bringing total capacity to four tanks. Systems management and serviceability are elevated with a second chiller logic control panel in the forward pantry and a dedicated cleanout loop for the AC chillers, while frequency drives govern variable speed sea water pumps for optimal efficiency. Freshwater capability is robust, featuring a Headhunter freshwater pump, a UV Freshwater sterilizer positioned after the freshwater pump, an additional freshwater pump dedicated to exterior washdown with a crossover valve for the backup pump, and a boost pump for tower washdown; water quality is further refined by Spot Zero. Cleanliness and reliability are enhanced by a Willy Vac in place of the engine room cleanout bilge. Onboard stability comes from a Seakeeper Gyro M3500 with warranty valid through August 2028, and fishing operations are supported by an ice chipper producing 1000 lb per day. The sanitation suite is completed by the Headhunter head system.
Day head
Located port side, forward of the dinette, the day head presents custom Amtico flooring underfoot and a custom granite countertop that frames a sink fitted with a satin nickel faucet, while overhead LED lights and a discreet exhaust fan ensure a bright, fresh, and refined space.
Master stateroom and head
Spanning the full beam, the master stateroom presents a king-size walkaround berth crowned with a Handcraft Viking Slumber #8 mattress, complemented by an upholstered headboard, end tables at the port and starboard ends with integrated storage, custom nightstand and credenza top, and a credenza positioned forward of the bed with additional port and starboard side credenzas for abundant drawer storage. Custom window treatments with motorized, pleated Roman blackout shades and port and starboard portlights balance privacy with natural light, while indirect rope lighting, reading lights, and overhead LED lighting recessed in the headliner create an inviting ambiance. Climate control is assured by AC with reverse-cycle heat, and comfort is enhanced by carpet flooring and custom floor treatments. A lounge seat on the port side features removable cushions for discreet storage, and fine custom door hardware with handles inlaid with leather and recessed hinges underscores the yacht’s craftsmanship. Entertainment and connectivity come courtesy of a 65-inch flat-screen TV, a Samsung Blu-Ray player with Upscaling/3D/WiFi/4K capability, an integrated URC Network, and a 12V stereo with a speaker recessed in the headliner, as well as a convenient phone outlet and power receptacle. Practicality meets elegance with a large walk-in closet and a walk-in locker; the starboard walk-in closet is appointed with maple-lined walnut doors and a full-length mirror on the aft wall. The vanity/desk area with stool provides a refined workspace or dressing station, while sheets are supplied for immediate comfort.
The ensuite showcases his-and-hers head and vanity areas finished with custom granite countertops with sink and faucets, new in 2020, paired with a lower vanity, medicine cabinets with mirrored doors, and a mirror surrounding the upper vanity. Custom Amtico flooring underfoot and a large shower with a glass enclosure are elevated by a custom shower surround, forward and aft, in a 12 x 24 horizontal layout. Thoughtful details include exhaust fans with a vent discreetly placed in the soffit, a shower light, overhead LED lights recessed in both the soffit and the ceiling, linen storage, and satin nickel towel bar and ring, all culminating in a serene, impeccably executed retreat.
Companionway
The companionway is thoughtfully arranged to enhance flow and function, providing direct access to the pantry forward of the galley and to the day head situated just ahead of the dining area, while discreet access hatches open to the forward bilge and machinery areas. A graceful staircase with a sturdy banister leads to the lower level and forward staterooms, and carpeted steps from the galley through the companionway were renewed in 2020. Practicality is elevated by a utility closet, a central vacuum unit connection with accessories, and a laundry center featuring a full-size stackable washer and dryer concealed behind a door.
Premium materials and lighting create a refined atmosphere: the Majilite headliner in a natural color is backed by 1/8" foam and tricot, with LED overhead lights recessed into the headliner and controlled by dimmer switches for tailored ambiance. Mechanical and electrical
Engineered for unwavering reliability, the yacht’s chilled‑water air conditioning delivers twelve tons of cooling through two six‑ton units, with the chiller system cleaned and serviced annually to ensure peak performance. A Delta T engine‑room ventilation system with pneumatically controlled dampers maintains optimal airflow, while a hydraulic bow thruster with precise controls enhances low‑speed maneuverability. An Eskimo Ice Machine stands ready for demanding adventures, and safety is bolstered by a dedicated fire suppression system. Freshwater management is equally thorough, with a freshwater filter and a convenient freshwater supply in the engine room for maintenance and cleaning.
Critical systems are robust and intelligently integrated, including bilge pumps with clean‑out pumps tied into the monitoring system and a hydraulic bilge pump with manifold. A centralized seawater system with dual pumps supports dependable circulation, and waste handling is streamlined via a deck pump‑out fitting and direct overboard pump‑out for the holding tank where permitted. Potable water is delivered by a dual‑stage, variable‑speed 110V AC freshwater system, complemented by a washdown pump, a water maker with auto backflush, and two dual‑element water heaters for quick recovery.
Fuel and lubrication infrastructure is built to exacting standards, featuring flexible, steel‑reinforced, USCG‑approved, aircraft‑type fuel and oil lines, electric fuel priming pumps for the main engines, a comprehensive fuel transfer and management system, and Racor fuel/water separator filters. Internal sea strainers serve the generator, hour meters record the performance of the main engines and generator, and a centralized oil changing system simplifies service.
Propulsion and running gear are optimized for smooth, efficient operation with a linear exhaust system exiting via an oval transom outlet and mufflers for both engine and generator. Class S pitch‑tolerance propellers, Aquamet high‑strength stainless steel shafts inspected in 2025, new cutlass bearings in 2025, Tides Marine water‑lubricated dripless shaft seals, and Nibral through‑water struts deliver confidence at speed. Directional control is crisp through stainless steel rudders and the VIPER (Viking Independent Programmable Electrohydraulic Rudder) steering system, while trim tabs and bronze seacocks complete the underwater and control suite. New rudder bearing and seals were installed in 2025 for added assurance.

Master electrical control is provided via a Power Distribution System utilizing CAN bus control for AC/DC remote‑breaker electrical systems, supported by diesel generators and a Glendinning Cablemaster for effortless shore cord handling. Illumination and switching are comprehensive, with instrument panel lights for the flybridge and main electric panel, magnetic switches for bilge lights, DC interior LED dimmers, DC LED engine‑room lighting, overhead LED lighting, anchor and navigation lights, and ample receptacles throughout.
