Updates and improvements in 2025
In 2025, the yacht underwent a comprehensive program of updates and enhancements. Hauled out at LMC for all routine five-year service items (1/2025) and maintained to ABS standards, it received meticulous attention throughout. The Naiad stabilizer fins were dropped and their lower seals changed. Fresh anti-fouling was applied and new zinc anodes installed. All through-hull fittings, valves, and sleeves—including the main sea chest—were changed. The propellers were dropped and balanced, the shafts were removed, inspected, and optically realigned at installation, and the shaft bearings were replaced. Nautical Structures was onboard to complete the five-year service of both cranes, the stern door, the passerelle, and the beach club. The Magnus shore power converters received their five-year overhaul and service, and Westport has just recently added the VIC Remote Monitoring System. Two Starlinks (port and starboard mast) have been installed. A full boat polish of the hull and superstructure by DLUX (1/2025) restored a deep, enduring shine. The entire hull was sounded by Hartmann Bros to inspect for any delamination pockets—all clear. In the master stateroom head, TOTO toilets were installed to both "his" and "hers." The sewage treatment plant received its five-year service with Headhunter. Both port and starboard generators had their annual service (8/2025), including a full rebuild of both raw water cooling pumps through RPM Diesel.

Mechanical systems
Power and poise begin with two 16‑cylinder marine diesel engines driving custom five‑blade Nibral propellers through close‑coupled, down‑angle reduction gears and stainless steel Aquamet 22HS shafts, their engine vibration expertly isolated by resilient mounts. Seawater cooling arrives via dual 5‑inch copper‑nickel lines that feed integrally molded hull scoops through bronze Y‑strainers and butterfly valves, while the primary exhaust exits underwater at the chine and a silenced bypass releases discreetly at the transom corners. The heart of this propulsion suite is a pair of MTU 16V2000 M96L engines, each rated at 2,600 HP at 2,450 rpm, managed by Marine Technologies RCS engine controls at four stations and turning through ZF 5050A reduction gears with a 2.962:1 ratio and an eight‑degree down angle. The running gear is anchored by custom cast bronze V‑struts and 4.5‑inch‑diameter Aquamet 22HS shafts, and the CNC‑machined, S‑class propellers translate power into effortless thrust. Confidence is underscored by extended warranty coverage on the main engines until December 3, 2029 or 6,000 hours, whichever comes first.
Command is intuitive and assured through digital hydraulic power steering energized by engine‑driven hydraulic pumps on both mains. The Main Pilothouse and Flybridge steering stations feature full follow‑up helm wheels, non‑follow‑up jog levers and rudder angle indicators, while port and starboard wing stations add non‑follow‑up jog levers and rudder angle indicators for precision when docking. Foil‑shaped rudders with Aquamet 22HS stainless steel stocks turn on Orkot composite bearings with dripless stock seals, all seated on a robust aluminum steering foundation.
Roll control is comprehensive and seamless. At rest, stabilization is provided by an electrically powered gyro system with two Seakeeper Model 35 units installed on centerline in the Lazarette. Underway, a hydraulically powered fin system—supplemented by the gyros—employs Naiad model 525 actuators with 19 square‑foot fins and Naiad Datum Control System management, driven by a main engine‑powered hydraulic pump with controls in the Pilothouse.
A chilled‑water HVAC system preserves interior comfort with a 30‑ton cooling capacity, distributing climate‑controlled air through variable‑speed air handlers tucked behind cabinets and bulkheads. In every accommodation space, electric heating elements provide autonomous heat, and dedicated air handlers deliver fresh‑air makeup. The chiller plant comprises 30‑ton, seawater‑cooled compressors operating at 208 volts, three‑phase, 60‑cycle, while air handlers across the vessel operate at 120 volts, single phase, 60‑cycle.
Elegantly integrated hydraulics are driven by electrically powered packs, with an aft power pack serving the passerelle, davit, transom door and the Swim Step Beach Platform, and a forward pack devoted to the anchor windlasses. Close‑quarters authority is enhanced by a bow thruster mounted in a composite tunnel integrally laminated into the hull; the ABT 16‑inch unit with dual counter‑rotating propellers is electrically driven via the ship’s AC system through a step‑up transformer and variable frequency drive, and powered by a 75 HP, three‑phase, 480 VAC motor.
Range and reliability are ensured by a diesel fuel system holding approximately 7,065 US gallons in five welded aluminum tanks. The day tank and port and starboard wing tanks sit immediately forward of the Engine Room, with two bilge tanks under the forward sole and one bilge tank aft. Levels are tracked by electronic sensors on the vessel monitoring system with mechanical back‑up measurement. Engines and generators draw from the day tank through filter sets and benefit from dedicated fuel priming pumps, while fills are conveniently located on the port and starboard aft Main Deck house sides, with the starboard side including a fill to manifold. The system is completed by an AC primary pump, a fuel meter with numerical display, a transfer manifold, a high‑capacity filter and water separator, Jabsco 24VDC main engine priming pumps, Carter 24VDC generator priming pumps and Racor 500 duplex turbine series filters.
Serviceability is further advanced by a dedicated lube oil system with main engine and generator oil tanks installed in the Engine Room. New and used oil tanks each hold 58 US gallons, a portable AC‑powered pump speeds transfers, and used oil is discharged via a quick‑disconnect fitting at the stern. An additional fuel system features a 100 US gallon tank with fuel hose and nozzle secured within a vapor‑tight compartment, safeguarded by a vapor detector.
Freshwater autonomy is exceptional with a total capacity of 1,000 US gallons in one welded stainless steel tank divided into two equal, isolated partitions. Three AC supply pumps are plumbed to suction and distribution manifolds so tanks and pumps can be isolated for service while the system remains operational, and a dock‑pressure fill is positioned at the starboard bustle. Freshwater washdown spigots are conveniently located on external decks. High‑flow delivery is achieved by three centrifugal pumps plumbed in parallel, complemented by two reverse osmosis watermakers providing a total of 1,850 US gpd, one dual‑element 120 US gallon water heater, a UV filter for potable‑water disinfection, dual particle filters removing sediment, dissolved solids and contaminants to 5 microns, an FRP pressure tank located at remote ends of the piping system and a Spot Zero system for impeccable water clarity.
Waste management is efficient and compliant. The FRP black water tank holds approximately 1,050 US gallons, receiving discharge from the toilets and the Galley sink, the latter also fitted with a direct overboard option for use in approved locations. A dockside pump‑out connection is located in the port bustle, and where permitted, black water can be treated by the onboard marine sanitation device for overboard discharge. Gray water from sinks, showers and similar sources is sent directly overboard or can be routed to the black water tank when required. Levels are monitored on the vessel monitoring system, and the black water tank includes a salt‑water washout from the fire main. The system employs a high‑capacity solids‑handling AC diaphragm pump and an MSD certified to meet MARPOL and USCG Type II standards with an integral chlorine generator. Three gray water sump boxes each contain an AC pump, a DC back‑up pump, a strainer, a pump‑failure alarm and an inspection port, and a dedicated black water lift‑station sump box transfers Galley sink discharge to the black water tank.
Compressed air aboard powers the ship’s whistle and air tools, with quick‑connect fittings on the Bow, Boat Deck and in the Utility Room for tools and the inflation of tenders and fenders, and a retractable hose reel in the Engine Room. Air supply is provided by one California Air Tools 2.0 HP compressor with a 20‑gallon tank, and the spring‑rewind hose reel carries 30 ft of air hose.
For ultimate security, the five watertight compartments are each fitted with water‑presence alarms monitored on the vessel monitoring system. The primary bilge pump, a centrifugal unit with flooded suction, is located in the Engine Room, and an auxiliary pump outside the Engine Room ties in through a common manifold to provide redundant bilge pumping, assisted by foot valves and strainers in each watertight compartment. On deck, efficient drainage is assured by freeing ports and integrally molded deck drains fitted with stainless steel grates, with all drains plumbed internally to laminated through‑hulls at the boot stripe.
Electrical systems
Power on board begins with two Northern Lights M80A13 generators, each delivering 80 kW at 1800 RPM to provide 208-volt, three-phase, 60-cycle AC power. Generator exhausts exit cleanly at the transom corners, while sound enclosures and compound resilient mounts isolate noise and vibration for a remarkably quiet ride; current hours stand at approximately 2,800 on the port unit and 2,900 on the starboard.
Shore power connects via two stern-mounted shore cords, with a system capable of accepting single or three-phase input from 180 to 520V and 47 to 64Hz. Cords are deployed and retrieved through a Powered Deployment and Retraction System, supported by an 80 kVA shore power converter, two 100 ft, 100 amp, three-wire with ground cords, and two Glendinning Cablemasters for effortless handling and storage.
AC service from shore power and the generators feeds a main distribution electrical panel in the Control Room and then cascades to subpanels throughout the vessel. The installation uses four-wire, three-phase 208-volt distribution with 120-volt single-phase branch circuits where required. The main panel is crafted from extruded aluminum with a powder coat finish, built to IP20 protection standards, and fitted with forced-draft cooling. A comprehensive gauge package displays volts and amps for each line, phase, power, power factor, and frequency across all sources. Engineered for parallel generator operation, the system features seamless transfer for uninterrupted output during switchover between generators and shore power.
The DC electrical system delivers 24VDC through four banks of absorbed glass matt (AGM) batteries, comprising a house bank, port and starboard main engine start banks, and a generator start bank. House power is routed through the main electrical distribution panel to subpanels and supports emergency lighting and navigation electronics, with each battery bank served by its own independent charger. The house bank carries two 8-D, 245 amp-hour batteries in series-parallel; the main engines are supplied by two banks of two 8-D, 245 amp-hour batteries in series; and the generator start bank uses two group 31, 105 amp-hour batteries in series. Charging is handled by a Newmar 95 amp/24VDC unit for the house bank, a Newmar 45 amp/24VDC unit for the main engine start banks, and a Newmar 20 amp/24VDC unit for the generator start bank.
Construction
The yacht’s hull, superstructure, and decks are executed in a foam‑cored composite construction with E‑glass reinforcements in Vinylester resin, with core materials and densities varied throughout to optimize the engineered structure. Structural framing combines E‑glass and carbon fiber reinforcements in Vinylester resin, and the entire structure is engineered to American Bureau of Shipping rules.

Anchor wash down nozzles are integrated within the hawse pipes and supplied with pressurized seawater from the Fire Hydrant System to keep the gear clean and ready at all times. The specification is uncompromising: stainless steel Davis Anchors, Talon HHP, each at 440 lbs., are powered by two Maxwell VWC6000 windlasses delivering 6,000 lbs. of pull. The anchor chain is 5/8” galvanized steel, with 350 ft. on starboard and 250 ft. on port, running over polished stainless steel anchor plates with welded pockets, including a protective stem guard. For precise control and secure holding, each chain is serviced by Maxwell combination stopper/roller/tensioners.

Tender and jet skis
The 2019 RIB is powered by a Yamaha four-stroke 115 hp F115LB engine showing 40.5 hours, with a full service completed last year that included emptying and recycling the fuel tank due to limited use; it has seen hardly any hours since. The annual service for this year has not yet been performed given the exceptionally low hours, while the engine is flushed and run every other week to maintain readiness. Complementing the tender are two 2021 Yamaha 11’7” jet skis.
