After unveiling the first of this new generation of explorer yachts in 2022, the Aegean Explorer M26, hull no. 2, followed with delivery in July 2024. Conceived and engineered entirely in‑house by Aegean, this go-anywhere, true world cruiser pairs a robust steel hull with an aluminum superstructure to deliver reassuring stability, quiet confidence, and superb seakeeping.

Its thoughtfully resolved general arrangement and generous interior volume allow for up to six cabins, including three full-beam master suites, welcoming as many as twelve guests aboard. The standard layout offers three near-identical “owner” staterooms—perfect for luxury charter—plus a VIP double and two twin-berth cabins, each with ensuite amenities, elevating this expedition yacht’s flexibility for family cruising or private superyacht operations.

On the main deck, an elegant saloon and inviting dining area are dressed in warm tones. Forward to port, a spacious, modern galley incorporates a dedicated crew mess and a discreet crew staircase to the lower deck—another intelligent detail that enables seamless service and discreet circulation throughout the yacht. Open-air zones are equally expansive, offering multiple distinct lounging retreats for guests to unwind, among them a refined sky lounge and a broad swim platform crafted for easy water access and watersports.

Driven by twin MAN 650 hp engines, she reaches a top speed of 13 knots and settles into an effortless 11‑knot cruise. With a range exceeding 3,500 nautical miles, vast stowage, and private cabins for a crew of four, this long-range luxury motor yacht is purpose-built for extended stays and ventures to rare, far-flung shores.

Accommodations

Thoughtfully conceived for privacy and indulgence, the yacht offers three full-beam master cabins, identically sized and distributed across all decks—lower, main, and upper. The upper-deck master is a sanctuary of light, featuring a large sliding glass door that opens onto a private upper aft deck, while each master is appointed with an ensuite bathroom and a dedicated beauty/desk corner.

Two twin cabins on the lower deck provide twin berths and ensuite bathrooms, their beautiful design expressed in warm colours and refined wood finishing. Complementing them is a VIP double cabin on the lower deck, also with an ensuite bathroom and the same inviting palette of warm hues and elegant woodwork.

For impeccable service and discretion, four crew cabins accommodate four crew onboard, with an intelligent layout that grants each crew member an individual cabin, and an ensuite bathroom in every cabin.

Mechanical equipment

Powering the yacht are two MAN D2676LE425 marine diesel engines, each rated at 650 HP at 2100 RPM in Medium Duty, matched to ZF reverse reduction gears with controls at both the wheelhouse and the aft deck. Propulsion is completed by two ZF 550-1A reverse reduction gearboxes with a 2.96:1 ratio, coupled to stainless-steel shafts via flexible couplings for smooth, reliable power delivery. The underwater running gear encompasses propellers, stern tubes, and bow thrusters, with two ERIS, or equivalent, well-balanced manganese bronze propellers supplied and installed, propeller shafts in 316 L stainless steel or duplex steel with diameters per CE rules, seamless steel stern tubes, and bronze stern glands.

Electrical autonomy is ensured by diesel generators from KOHLER, or equivalent, two units of 35 kW, each housed in sound insulation cabins and mounted on steel foundations with rubber chocks. Fluid management is entrusted to GIANNESCHI, or equivalent, pumps installed in accordance with regulations, each mounted on rubber chocks and equipped with bypass emergency systems. Safety is paramount, with a fixed and remotely controlled NOVEC 1230 fire-fighting system protecting the engine room and installed in full regulatory compliance, the number and type of detectors conforming to CE requirements; the accommodation spaces are further safeguarded by an extensive fire detection system with indications at the main fire alarm panel.

The galley and domestic domains are finished with POLYCOR, or equivalent, acrylic counters and non-skid ceramic floors, and appointed with SIEMENS, or equivalent, appliances including a refrigerator/freezer, a four-burner electric cooktop beneath an overhead hood, an electric oven, and a dishwasher.

For navigation and communications, the suite may be upgraded or modified at the owner’s discretion and presently features a SIMRAD GB twelve-inch Glass Bridge display, I-marine TCBS Class B AIS, SIMRAD BSM-1 broadband sounder, SIMRAD B260 one kW transducer, SIMRAD HALO20 radar, SIMRAD AP44 autopilot, SIMRAD RS20S VHF radio with Class-D DSC, NAVIONICS Aegean Sea, Black and Mediterranean Sea chart, SIMRAD HS75 GPS compass, and a FURUNO NX300 Navtex receiver paired with an INTELLIAN i6P Sat TV system.

On deck, handling is effortless with two DATA DZC 1400 hydraulic vertical windlasses on the fore main deck complete with rope drums, two stainless steel FOB HHP anchors to CE rules, and two studlink galvanized anchor chains sized to CE requirements with two swivels, each 137,5 meters in length and Ø 12.5 mm. The arrangement is complemented by stainless steel bollards and fairleads, mooring ropes of Ø 24 mm comprising two lengths of 80 meters and one length of 100 meters, and two DATA DHC 1000 hydraulic capstans aft, while a hydraulic swimming platform adds versatility at the water’s edge.
