Overview
STELLA FIERA is the inaugural Benetti Classic 115, the yacht that launched one of the Italian shipyard’s most emblematic series. Delivered in 1998 and celebrated as the Star of the Genoa Yacht Show, she embodies the full heritage of Stefano Righini’s signature exterior lines paired with Zuretti’s enduringly elegant interior design.
This luxury motor yacht measures 247 GT and spans a generous 7.20-metre beam, translating into impressive interior volume for a vessel of her length. She has benefited from sustained capital improvements throughout her life, with major refit campaigns in 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and, most extensively, in 2022. These upgrades encompassed mechanical overhauls, hydraulic systems, guest spaces, exterior refinishing and soft goods, culminating in a superyacht that shows beautifully and operates to a high standard today.
Driven by twin Caterpillar engines, this tri-deck displacement superyacht cruises smoothly at 12 knots, reaching about 16 knots at maximum, with an ocean-crossing range of approximately 3,200 nautical miles at cruising speed. Comfort both underway and at anchor is assured by Mitsubishi GOT 1000 stabilizers, while close-quarters handling is sharpened by a hydraulic Koopnautic bow thruster.
A standout enhancement is the substantial hydraulic bathing platform, delivering effortless sea access and the capacity to carry a tender or jet ski. Additional equipment includes an Opacmare hydraulic passerelle, upgraded windlasses, a renewed bow thruster system and a comprehensive replacement of hydraulic hoses completed in 2022.
Inside, Zuretti’s timeless aesthetic remains, with rich woodwork, considered lighting and a traditional yet highly practical layout. The main salon provides an expansive lounge and a formal dining setting, and the galley has been entirely reimagined and enlarged to professional specifications, featuring Siemens, Wolf, Miele, Gaggenau and Liebherr appliances that support long-range cruising and charter-style service.
Accommodation is arranged for 10 guests in five staterooms. The owner’s suite occupies the upper deck, granting privacy and sweeping views. Forward on the main deck lies a full-beam VIP, a rare attribute in this size category. The lower deck hosts a second full-beam VIP and two twin cabins. Crew quarters are configured for seven in four cabins, enabling efficient, discreet service on board.
Outdoor living is a highlight. The sundeck offers a jacuzzi, broad open areas for sunning or socialising and light fitness equipment. The upper deck aft transforms into a versatile entertainment zone, ideal for open-air cinema or events, while the main deck aft delivers a sheltered setting for dining and relaxation.
In sum, STELLA FIERA distinguishes herself through pedigree, condition and the breadth of her modernisation. Few yachts of her generation have been so thoroughly refreshed—and fewer still carry the cachet of being hull number one of the Classic 115 line.
Detailed Description
Main characteristics
Built by Benetti, this 36.54-meter (119’9’’) yacht was launched in 1998 and comprehensively updated in 2022, blending Italian pedigree with contemporary refinement. With a beam of 7.20 meters (23’7’’) and a draft of 2.11 meters (6’11’’), she carries ABS classification and flies the Cook Islands flag, her volume measuring 247 GT gross and 190 T net. The exterior is by Stefano Righini, the naval architecture by Benetti, and the interiors by Zuretti Interiors, creating a cohesive aesthetic and engineering harmony throughout. She offers speeds of approximately twelve and sixteen knots, with a range of 3,200 nautical miles at twelve knots, a fuel capacity of 35,600 liters or 9,405 US gallons, a fresh water capacity of 6,700 liters or 1,770 US gallons, and a black water capacity of 1,500 liters including grey water.
Machinery
Powered by twin CAT 3412 DITA diesel engines delivering 1350 hp each and showing 2200 hours, she couples this muscle to ZF BW 256 gearboxes with a 4:133 reduction ratio and steadies the ride with CMC stabilizers. Shipboard power comes from two 55kW Kohler generators complemented by one 27kW Kohler unit. The electrical system features dedicated battery banks—one for the radio, one for emergency lights, and one for service—supported by two Decca 24V / 50Amp battery chargers. Climate control totals 240.000 Btu. Docking is aided by a hydraulic Koopnautic bow thruster rated at 70hp, while no stern thruster is fitted. Endurance and efficiency are further enhanced by a Sea recovery Coral C10.600 L/Day water maker, twin five-blade propellers, and a set of three Racor fuel filters. Safety and service equipment include two Gianneschi fire bilge pumps at 175 lt/mn (2006) and two boilers of 100 liters/3kW each.
Accommodation
Designed for discerning living at sea, the accommodation comprises one owner cabin on the upper deck, offering elevated privacy and a refined connection to the yacht’s outdoor spaces. Guests are welcomed with two VIP cabins and two twin cabins, each crafted for serene comfort and effortless relaxation. The professional crew is equally well catered for, with four dedicated cabins accommodating seven crew, ensuring seamless service and a perfectly managed voyage.
Galley & laundry equipment
The galley is outfitted for professional-level service with a Siemens stove offering five induction plates, paired with a Wolf oven and extractor hood, while a Miele commercial dishwasher 7856 streamlines cleanup. Fine vintages rest in a Gaggenau wine cellar, with provisions kept perfectly chilled in three Liebherr refrigerators and an additional Liebherr refrigerator/freezer. Laundry needs are handled by a Miele washing machine and a Miele dryer.
Communications, navigation & entertainment equipment
Seamless onboard communications are assured by the Smart Pilot SPX-SOL, a Furuno FS1562 SSB, and a Furuno FM8500 VHF, delivering robust long- and short-range reach with crisp clarity. The navigation suite centers on a Furuno FR7112 daylight-view radar and a network of three Raymarine E165 multifunction units that serve as 4K HD radar-chartplotter displays with Navionics charts, HD fish finder capability, and Sea Talk repeaters for depth, wind, GPS, and autopilot data. Two i70r displays further present Sea Talk information for depth, wind, GPS, and autopilot, ensuring instant readouts wherever needed. Command feedback and safety are elevated by a Kahlenberg horn with Auto Control, a Sanshin searchlight, and precise Kobelt throttle controls, while a Remote Wing Control, with one control to port and one to starboard, streamlines docking and maneuvering.
Tenders & watersports equipment
Enhancing every day on the water, the yacht carries one Northstar tender measuring 3.7 meters, one Yamaha Jetski FB1800 from 2021, and two Seabob units, complemented by versatile inflatable platforms, water skis, and more for limitless fun and effortless access to the sea.
Deck equipment
An Opacmare hydraulic gangway provides effortless boarding, while two aft deck capstans for warps ensure precise handling alongside. The ground tackle is served by two electric MUIRR VRC 8000 anchor windlasses, each rated at 5500 W (2006), complemented by two anchors of 230 kg.
Safety & security equipment
Vigilant protection begins with an LG CCTV system monitoring the engine room, both sides of the aft main deck, both sides of the sundeck, and the garage. Fire safety is comprehensive, featuring two 5 kg CO2 extinguishers, fourteen 2 kg dry powder extinguishers, seven 4.5 kg dry powder extinguishers, and one 6 kg dry powder extinguisher, supported by smoke alarms. Signaling and survival readiness include flares, two new 25-man SOLAS A Pack Viking 25DK life rafts, two EPIRBs comprising a Kannad 406 and an ACR unit, and two SARTs.
Refit history
In 2013, a new Jacuzzi was installed on the sundeck, and the galley and crew mess were completely stripped back, redesigned, fabricated, and newly furnished to modernize operations and meet the demanding cuisine service for the five luxury cabins; all fridges, deep freezers, ovens, cookers, and appliances were renewed. In 2014, both Kohler 55 kW generators were renewed. In 2016, the rudder control panel was replaced together with all associated cables, fuses, and electronic control boards; the main engines underwent a comprehensive overhaul, with valves, cylinder liners, injectors, and fuel pumps removed and overhauled and coolers replaced; additionally, a new Kohler synchronizing system was added to the domestic power system to automate generator starting and switching, and a main engines overhaul was completed. In 2018, the stern platform’s hydraulic power unit, pistons, and control system were replaced; the Opac Mare hydraulic gangway was dismantled and removed for service, its box cleaned, and its sensors, hydraulic pipes, and pistons replaced before careful alignment and reassembly; the air-conditioning system was overhauled and the chiller compressors replaced. In 2022, both generators were overhauled, the electric motors of both windlasses were renewed, the sundeck teak deck caulking was replaced, and the bow thruster system was fully dismantled with thruster shafts, valve blocks, bearings, and seals replaced and all hydraulic hoses renewed; all hydraulic hoses for the gangway and garage door systems were also renewed. Interior refinements that year included new woven carpets with fresh ornamentation for all cabins and the salon, the replacement of five air-conditioning fancoils, and the complete renewal of upholstery across couches, chairs, beds, and walls, including all bed upholstery. Exterior finishes were refreshed with repainting of the aft and sundeck areas, and the cap handrails were varnished.
