Detailed Description

Description

Preliminary listing. AURORA is an 84-foot Cheoy Lee Bravo built in 2012, conceived for owners who prize performance and recreation without compromising luxury or volume. Professionally maintained by her captain and crew, she distinguishes herself in this size and price range with low engine hours, a high-volume interior, three en-suite staterooms each with a walkaround king- or queen-size bed, an air-conditioned flybridge with enclosure, and spacious crew quarters. She cruises comfortably at 18 knots and showcases the robust engineering and finely crafted woodwork for which Cheoy Lee is renowned. Her extended cockpit invites owners who wish to blend the practicality of a sportfish or dive platform with the refined comforts of a long-range cruiser.

Accessed from the transom, the TNT lift carries a 2019 ZAR 15-foot tender powered by a 90 HP outboard and equipped with a Bimini top, Garmin chartplotter, and tow arch. AURORA’s factory-built cockpit features an aquarium-style live well and generous space for a fighting chair, complemented by a 1,200 lb davit enclosed beneath a hinged coaming lid and davit plates ready for a jet ski or motorcycle/scooter. The TNT lift also serves as a private beach or dive platform, while ten Ocean LED underwater lights set a serene evening ambiance. A transom bulwark door provides cockpit access.

The aft deck showcases teak decking, a striking compass rose teak table with built-in seating and matching teak chairs, and a Corian bar top with refrigerator and top-loading freezer. A weathertight fiberglass cabinet houses a 32-inch TV to enhance outdoor entertaining, and port and starboard doors provide effortless dockside access via a stowable MarQuipt staircase.

Inside, the spacious main salon opens through a sliding glass and stainless-steel door to generous seating and a large 48-inch LED TV to starboard. Enjoy single-level living from the aft cockpit to the galley, with a handcrafted built-in round dining table to port and a full-service bar to starboard complete with bar refrigerator and concealed wall panels that reveal a curated array of glassware. The full galley sits forward on the main deck with granite countertops and stainless-steel appliances, plus a convenient day head. In addition to a GE Monogram side-by-side refrigerator, AURORA offers six Vitrifrigo refrigerator/freezer drawers for abundant cold storage on extended passages, complemented by a full-size microwave, cooktop, and oven. A spiral staircase leads below to the two king staterooms, while a forward staircase accesses the queen VIP. A full-sized Maytag washer and dryer are located opposite the VIP beside a large pantry, and a side deck door is positioned forward to starboard in the galley.

Recently installed Starlink and refitted TVs enable seamless streaming at the dock or offshore, the sound system has been upgraded throughout to JL Audio, and LED lighting is fitted across the yacht.

Accommodations welcome six guests in three luxurious en-suite staterooms, including two full-beam king cabins and one VIP queen cabin, all with ample storage. Each stateroom offers a large head with frameless glass-enclosed shower, hanging closets, and drawers, while the primary adds a walk-in closet. Aft crew quarters comprise one stateroom with two bunks to port, a full head to starboard, and a crew lounge with TV, microwave, and refrigerator/freezer. Sanitation is by top-tier Headhunter Marine heads.

The flybridge features an air-conditioned helm within a four-sided EZ2CY enclosure, two Stidd helm chairs, and a two-tiered bar with icemaker, refrigerator, and bar sink flanked by three stools. To port, beautifully upholstered bench seating surrounds a large teak table with matching teak chairs. Aft, a robust propane barbecue grill complements a generous open deck fitted with a luxury cabana-style lounger in tropical Sunbrella fabric. She is fully outfitted for island adventures with two kayaks, four folding electric bikes, and two aqua scooters.

Engineering is a core strength of AURORA. Power comes from twin Caterpillar C-32 ACERT engines rated at 1,600 HP each. Naiad stabilizers ensure a smooth ride, aided by hearty Naiad bow and stern thrusters for effortless docking. Navigation is straightforward with two 17-inch Garmin chartplotters, a Furuno autopilot, an ICOM VHF radio, and an ACR spotlight. Electrical power is supplied by twin 32 kW Kohler generators with low hours. Major engine services were completed in August 2025, including propellers tuned and treated with PropSpeed, stabilizers inspected and fully serviced, and the CAT main engine 1,000-hour service completed with fuel coolers and heat exchangers addressed. A bottom job and zinc replacement were completed in December 2025. In addition to a new water maker, every system was recently serviced—including all pumps, chillers, gensets, sea cocks, and strainers—making AURORA an exceptionally attractive, turnkey cruising yacht.

Clean trades will be considered.

Precision steering is assured by a Furuno 511 autopilot, and clear ship‑to‑shore communication comes courtesy of two Icom VHF M504A radios and two Speco SPC40RP hailer horns. Entertainment on passage is provided by KVH TracVision M7 satellite TV beneath a KVH radome. Vigilance and situational awareness are heightened by a CCTV camera system integrated with a Maretron ship monitoring multifunction system, an engine room PTZ camera with DVR recording, and an aft deck PTZ camera with DVR recording. For seamless operations, take charge with a Maxwell anchor windlass control, generator control displays, a Yacht Controller remote cable docking station, and bow and stern thruster control displays.

Engine and mechanical equipment

Twin Caterpillar C32 ACERT diesel main engines rated at 1,600 HP anchor a machinery space engineered for quiet power and effortless control, with a full service completed in August 2025 that included fuel coolers and the 1,000-hour service. Locally mounted start/stop instrument panels serve both engines and generators, while underwater exhausts with bypass and fiberglass mufflers keep operations refined. Climate comfort comes from a 220V chilled-water air conditioning system with frequency drives, complemented by Centek combination generator mufflers of the air/water separator type with hull-side exhausts. An engineered engine room ventilation system employs intake blowers that draw air through air/water separator filters on the hull sides, and a comprehensive fire protection system—with manual and automatic actuation, audio and visual alarms, automatic blower shutdown, and automatic closure of hull-side ventilation inlet dampers upon activation—adds reassuring safety.

Maneuverability is assured by Naiad hydraulic bow and stern thrusters driven by PTOs off the gearboxes with two live C-pads, a stabilizer control system, and a power hydraulic steering system with valves ready for an optional additional autopilot. Redundant ship systems include an AC backup water pump and a DC backup water pump, a Sea Recovery 1,200 GPD watermaker, and an engine-driven emergency bilge pumping system serving the engine room bilges. Serviceability shines with a Reverso lube oil change system manifolded to engines and gearboxes, Racor fuel filters with vacuum gauges for the main engines and a manifold that allows filter changes underway, plus Racor fuel filters with vacuum gauges for the generators. Domestic comforts are supported by two 30-gallon dual-element quick-recovery water heaters, a Headhunter Mach 5 freshwater pump with accumulator tank, a cartridge-style whole-system water filtration unit, and a sink with a freshwater hose bib.

Fuel and tankage are expertly monitored and managed through a fuel management system with shut-off valves, a transfer pump with metering system, and a selector manifold, along with Hart tank tender gauges for fuel, freshwater, black water, and grey water tanks. A black water tank level indicator and high-level alarm team with a black water holding tank system featuring a Y-valve selector for overboard discharge or holding tank, and a macerator pump enabling overboard discharge or shore-side pump-out. Reliability and protection extend to Groco bronze raw-water strainers for all engines and seawater pump intakes, seacocks on all through-hull fittings, and a battery condition indicator.

Remarkably low sound and vibration levels result from an engineered attenuation program using lead tile sound barriers and Mylar-faced synthetic lead foam insulation, all finished in white-painted perforated aluminum sheeting, plus custom sound mounts for the main engines, generators, engine room stanchions, head pumps and motors, air conditioning compressors, and seawater cooling pumps. The running gear is equally robust, with Seashaft 22 or equivalent propeller shafts, stainless steel rudder blades, Nibral propeller shaft struts, and dynamically balanced Nibral five-blade Class S propellers, supported by Duramax cutlass rubber stern bearings and PYI dripless/packless shaft seals. Practical access and safety are further enhanced by a watertight entrance door from the aft swim step to the crew area and a watertight emergency escape hatch from the engine room to the master stateroom.

Electrical system

The yacht’s power architecture is anchored by two Kohler 32kW generators with sound guards, showing 1,973 hours on the port unit and 2,020 hours on the starboard. Versatile distribution is provided by 220/110V, 60Hz AC and 24/12V DC electrical panels, while an ACR 100 searchlight with dual-station remote control enhances night operations. Robust storage includes two 24V DC 245Ah 8D AGM battery banks dedicated to engine starting and ship service, two 12V DC 175Ah battery banks for the generators, and a 24V DC 198Ah 4D AGM battery bank that feeds the LED lighting circuits. Charging is managed by two 24V DC 60A battery chargers and a 12V DC 20A battery charger, complemented by a Vanner 50A 12V DC equalizer with a 12V DC 120Ah battery and twelve spare. A battery parallel system is fitted at both helm stations, with 24/12V DC circuit breakers housed in the electronics sub-panel. Shore connectivity is seamless via a Glendinning Cablemaster shore power cable retrieval system with a 100’ cable, a shore phone inlet with a 100’ cable, and a shore cable TV inlet with a 100’ cable, all safeguarded by a 25 kVA isolation transformer for the shore power system. Integrity and safety are further ensured by a copper bonding system that ties all through-hull fittings and major metal components to exterior hull zinc anodes, and by a Dyna-Plate grounding plate strapped to pilothouse and flybridge ground terminal boards. System status and protection are clearly presented with voltmeters and ammeters for the supply circuits, generator/shore power selector switches with a shore power polarity indicator, and an LCD touchscreen control and alarm monitoring system delivering audible and visual alerts through a programmable logic controller (PLC) located at the helm.

Additional features

A complete Maretron backbone cabling network is installed throughout the vessel to support the monitoring system, delivering electronic oversight of all tankage, fire systems, and weather data through a Garmin system monitor located both at the helm and in the crew cabin. Complementing this capability, a TNT tender lift carries a 2019 ZAR 15-foot tender powered by a 90 HP outboard and outfitted with a chart plotter, bimini, GPS, and arch.
