Detailed Description
Features
This craft features state-of-the-art propulsion that enables confident operation in three distinct modes—Surface, Semi Submerged, and Submerged—while transitions between the surface and wet modes occur seamlessly, with no change in pilot handling and no disruption to forward speed. Tested to 50 meters and rated for a maximum operating depth of 40 meters, it achieves 40 knots on the water with a diesel engine and maintains 6+ knots when semi submerged or fully submerged. With an overall length of 11.2 m (37.73') and a beam of 2.32 m (7.55'), it conveniently fits inside a 40 ft container. Purpose-built, CDDC has been designed for optimized performance above and below the surface, pairing ergonomic seats for ten divers and two crew with wet cargo compartments that are easily accessible from outside. The hull construction follows DNV/GL rules for High Speed Light Craft, GL HSC 2012, employing a single-skin, vacuum-infused epoxy/eallala carbon fibre laminate with a Kevlar-reinforced keel. Vital systems—including the engine, actuators, battery modules, and electronics—are sealed within watertight enclosures to preserve integrity in all modes. On-board sensors and navigation systems work in concert to provide safe transit and accurate positioning day and night, above or below the surface, regardless of vessel speed or sea conditions. Its propulsion and control architecture comprises a rim-driven main underwater thruster, rear trim thruster, waterjet, forward dive plane, optic mast system, forward ballast tank, diesel engine, forward trim thruster, aft ballast tank, aft stabilization fins, ten dedicated diver seats, two helm seats, a diesel tank, a LiFePO battery bank, an on-board rebreather system, and sonar. Switch Activated Rapid Access (SARA) provides one-push activation for aided autonomous navigation on the surface or fully submerged: go to predefined coordinates, hold position, run a search grid, or return to home. SARA also governs transitions between modes, including surface to submerged with predefined depth, submerged to surface, surface to periscope depth, periscope depth to submerged, and submerged to periscope depth. Computer-controlled ballast and trim planes continually manage attitude, with Emergency Lift Bladder (ELB) activation available on command.
