Overview
REVERIE is a custom 98’ Horizon tri-deck motor yacht, coming to market for the first time from her original owner, who acted as the engineer of record for Horizon throughout her build. She is lavishly specified, including an ASEA shore-power converter for flexibility, an expansive inverter bank for hushed evenings at anchor, bow and stern thrusters, a diesel-fired heater, a passarelle, and twin davits. With low engine time (under 1,000 hours on the mains), REVERIE is a luxury cruising platform for both warm-water and high-latitude adventures and stands as an outstanding value among tri-deck superyachts in this size category.
Detailed Description
Accommodations / walkthrough
REVERIE is a custom 98’ Horizon tri-deck presenting a three-stateroom layout plus crew quarters, where cherry joinery, high-gloss elm burl wood inlays, and granite countertops set an elegant tone throughout.
The main salon is arranged for effortless relaxation and entertaining, with a custom entertainment center, an L-shaped sofa paired with a coffee table, and two lounge chairs. Formal dining for eight occupies the forward portion of the salon, while a starboard bar area, complete with wine fridge, ice maker, and drawer-type refrigeration, ensures seamless service.
Forward on the main deck, the full-beam country-style galley offers top-of-the-line equipment, abundant countertop space, and ample storage, creating an attractive and highly versatile cooking environment. The countertop is flanked by two leather swivel-type bar stools, and a large U-shaped dining settee invites casual dining and lounging. On the starboard side, a dedicated navigation/communications desk enhances functionality.
Guest accommodations on the lower deck comprise three staterooms: the full-beam master positioned furthest aft, the VIP forward, and a guest stateroom to starboard. Each stateroom features an ensuite head and shower for complete privacy and comfort.
The skybridge, reached via a stairway from either the galley or the aft deck, combines a professional pilothouse with a lounge U-shaped settee and table. Three salon doors open to the boat deck and to the port and starboard Portuguese bridge, promoting easy movement and commanding views.
Accessed from both the salon and the swim step, the crew quarters and engine room are thoughtfully arranged with two crew staterooms, one head and shower, and a crew galley, making the area capable of housing up to four crew. Finished to match the yacht’s refined interior, the crew spaces also feature cherry joinery.
Galley
The main galley is appointed for serious culinary endeavors with a Viking commercial four-burner range beneath an exhaust hood, paired with a Viking oven, and complemented by a Magma gas BBQ on the Boat Deck. Daily convenience is assured by a Sharp Carousel microwave serving the Main Galley, while cold storage is anchored by a full size SubZero reefer/freezer. Entertaining flows effortlessly with a Scotsman icemaker in the Main Salon and a SubZero Model 424 wine cooler in the Main Salon, supported by two drawer-type small fridges in the Main Salon and a U-Line reefer/ice maker combo in the Skybridge. Cleanup is streamlined by a Bosche dishwasher and a Viking trash compactor.
The crew quarters galley mirrors this thoughtful outfitting with a Siemens two-burner electric range, a Sharp Carousel microwave, and a full size Sub Zero reefer/freezer, joined by a Silhouette Professional small fridge, a Scotsman icemaker, and a Viking trash compactor to ensure round-the-clock efficiency and comfort.
Laundry equipment
A dedicated main laundry suite in the crew area features a main ASKO washer paired with a matching ASKO dryer, delivering efficient garment care and seamless service throughout every voyage.
Machinery
Power comes from MAN D 2842 LE 409 main engines showing 802 hours to port and 813 hours to starboard, matched to ZF 2500 A gearboxes and delivering thrust through Aquanet 22HS grade shafts with a four-inch diameter to high-performance four-blade propellers via direct drive. The machinery spaces are optimized with a Delta T engine room ventilation system, a DeAngelo exhaust system, and a Reverso oil change system serving both mains and generators. Each engine benefits from triple RACOR 75/1000 MA filtration with vacuum gauges, a water sensor, and a primer pump for assured reliability.
Electrical power is versatile and robust, offering 110/220 VAC and 12/24 VDC service supported by two Northern Lights 60 Hz generators rated at 33 kW and 20 kW, with 2,800 hours on the 20 kW unit and 170 hours on the 33 kW unit, and protected by RACOR 500 MA generator filtration. Shore power is managed by an A/SEA 24 KVA conversion unit with a CHARLES autoswitch 100-amp controller, while two Trace 4 kW inverters provide seamless continuity. Energy storage includes sixteen 240-amp six-volt L/A batteries arranged in four 24-volt banks, complemented by two group 8-8 12-volt batteries serving the main engine and generators.
Climate control is assured by three AQUA AIR 12-ton reverse-cycle chillers, while a Kobola furnace delivers dependable diesel heat for cool-weather cruising.
Essential systems are equally comprehensive, featuring a Village Marine watermaker producing 2400 gpd and hydraulics that include two variable-displacement SAE C PTOs on the ZF gears for the port and starboard engines. Ride comfort is elevated by ABT Trac stabilizers with 12 sq ft fins and 300 Series actuators, with precise low-speed control provided by an ABT 16-inch variable-speed hydraulic bow thruster and an ABT 12-inch variable-speed hydraulic stern thruster. Steering is via a Hynautic K-8 power steering system with two pumps. Waste management is handled by two 150-gallon holding tanks with two M series Sealand pumps, one Vac and one overboard, with TankGuard as the primary tank level indicator and Sealand Tank Watch as the backup. Freshwater delivery is maintained by AC and DC automatic freshwater pressure-demand systems, while hot water is supplied by two stainless steel 30-gallon water heaters supported by a diesel heater and supplemental 240 VAC 2000-watt electric heaters. Safety and redundancy are further enhanced by six RULE electric bilge pumps, a high-water alarm system, and a hydraulic emergency bilge pump system, with helm control via a custom 24-inch stainless-steel steering wheel and a stainless-steel emergency tiller.
Navigation
The helm is comprehensively outfitted with dual radar systems, pairing a Furuno unit with a forty-eight‑mile range and a Nobeltec unit with a twenty‑four‑mile range, all working in concert with a Simrad autopilot. Position is secured by two GPS units—the Furuno 1850NT and the Furuno GP 31—while Nobeltec plotter software delivers precise charting. AIS enhances situational awareness, and a Furuno searchlight sonar with a telescoping installation adds confident depth intelligence. A Danforth magnetic compass provides reliable heading, with B&G instrumentation displaying both wind and speed, and all critical data presented on three Big Bay monitors updated in 2018.
Entertainment system
Designed for immersive leisure, the yacht’s entertainment suite features a 65-inch Vizio in the main salon and a 50-inch Vizio in the master stateroom, while the VIP guest staterooms and crew quarters are equipped with 20-inch ViewSonic displays. On the Skybridge, a 48-inch flat panel rises smoothly on a motorized lift for open-air viewing. Sound is anchored by an ONKYO receiver, with Sony DVD players and Sony stereos delivering reliable, high-fidelity media playback throughout.
Communication systems
Seamless connectivity comes via a KLH Fleet 55 phone and data SatCom, while entertainment and information are delivered by a KLH G6 satellite TV receiver with distribution and control throughout the vessel. Clear shipwide calling is handled by a C-Phone telephone system with eight phones, and vigilant watchkeeping is supported by three ICOM fixed VHF radios. A dedicated intercom system enhances internal coordination, and a custom 25-watt hailer ensures commands carry crisply across decks and to the dock.
Deck and hull
The yacht’s hull and main structure are engineered for unwavering strength and refined seakeeping, beginning with a one-piece hull lamination that integrates a V-shaped keel and longitudinal stringers. These stringers are cored with high-density foam, the bottom is solid fiberglass paired with high-density foam hullsides, and the deck and superstructure feature L foam-cored reinforcement for additional rigidity. Built using SCRIMP technology to maximize strength and weight efficiency, the build is further safeguarded by a collision bulkhead and finished in a crisp white gelcoat.
On deck, every element is specified for effortless handling and reliability. The anchor windlass system is a single Muir 6000 equipped with a chain compressor and catspaw tensioning device, with control available remotely at the helm or via a plug-in handheld at the windlass. Ground tackle comprises a #400 CQR complemented by four hundred feet of 5.8 HT anchor chain and rode. Tender and anchor operations are supported by a Steelhead 2400 hydraulic davit on the boat deck and an electric davit, 220VAC, on the foredeck for anchor handling or secondary tender launching. Seamless boarding is assured by a hydraulic swim ladder with boarding handles and a hydraulic passerelle, while night maneuvers are confidently illuminated by two Sanshin spotlights.
Safety and security equipment
Confidence at sea begins with equipment you can trust, and this yacht is outfitted accordingly. Safety provisions include two Elliot MK-4 eight-person life rafts with hydrostatic release, two life rings, a single Lifesling, and one ACR EPIRB, all poised for swift deployment and reliable performance when it matters most.
Fire protection is engineered to professional standards with a FIREBOY FM200 dual bottle system sized precisely for a 2,400 cubic foot engine room, offering both automatic and manual activation for immediate response. Supplementing the fixed installation are Halon and dry chemical fire extinguishers, while a portable Honda seawater pump serves as the dedicated seawater firefighting station for added resilience.
Security and situational awareness are enhanced by a CCTV system featuring three PAN-type black and white cameras with a continuous feed to the bridge monitor, delivering clear oversight of critical areas underway and at anchor.
Special features
This custom one-off enclosed skybridge motoryacht showcases special attention to engineering and systems during construction, uniting capability and comfort for every latitude. Its enclosed skybridge is an attractive feature for both warm and cold weather cruising, while a large inverter bank allows for quiet nights at anchor, complemented by an ASEA shore power converter for seamless connectivity, bow and stern thrusters for precise handling, and a diesel heater system for all-season warmth. With low hours on the machinery and a 2,000 nm range, it delivers assured performance on extended passages, and it is offered for sale by its very knowledgeable original owner.
