Overview
From her bespoke aft arch and davit suite with integrated antennas, Starlink connectivity, and solar arrays, to the stainless deck rails encircling the entire perimeter, Make Me Laugh Again showcases thoughtful, purpose-built design for safe, effortless, and refined life on the water. This luxury sailing yacht—equally suited as a bluewater cruiser, performance cruiser, and liveaboard cruising sailboat—blends elegance with true offshore capability.
Below, a combo washer/dryer and modern LiPo battery bank elevate day-to-day comfort and enhance reliability for extended off-the-grid adventures.
Under sail, the newly fitted North 3Di wardrobe delivers crisp, responsive power, while Harken headsail furlers and an in-mast furling main optimize ease of handling and cockpit safety, with all control lines led aft for relaxed, confident offshore cruising.
Detailed Description
Overview
From the ground tackle to the cockpit comforts, the hull and deck are set up for real-world cruising. A Muir Cheetah 2500 electric windlass with foot switches and a cockpit remote teams with an anchor washdown system (new pump 2019), a Rocna anchor 40 (88 lbs) on approximately 300 feet of 1/2" chain, and a Danforth anchor 44 lbs with approximately 50 feet of chain and 250 feet of rode. For flexibility, there is approximately 300 feet of 1.5" line with eyes for extra anchor rode or tow rope, approximately 50 feet of garden hose with nozzle and a dedicated attachment for the washdown system (anchor washdown hose), and two anchor bridles. Protection and comfort on deck come from a Dodger, Bimini, and a mesh screen enclosure for the cockpit, complemented by cockpit cushions (new 2020), a 4-cup holder at the helm, a folding wood table at the helm, and canvas covers for the toe rail and “eyebrow” (new 2021). Entertaining is easy with a gas BBQ and a dedicated BBQ folding table. Robust stainless details include pulpits at the mast, welded stainless steel tube lifelines (new 2020), stainless fender racks, 3 port and stbd forward (new 2020), four stainless jerry can racks aft port (2 diesel, 2 gas) with all jerry cans in Sunbrella bags (new 2020), and a stainless propane tank rack aft stbd with the tank in a Sunbrella bag (new 2020). Power shoreside is handled by two 30-amp shore power connections and breakers, while safety is underscored by a life raft in a canister on the aft port rail/arch (certified 2022).
A stern arch with davits extends capability and independence, carrying two solar panels, 1,100 watts (new 2022), 3 GPS antennas (AIS, VHF/SSB, Chart Plotter), a dedicated AIS antenna, a Starlink antenna and router (new 2024), and a SiriusXM antenna (new 2019). Entertainment and visibility aft are enhanced by stereo speakers (group 3 for cabin stereo), a light for the dinghy (switch at helm), a stern light at the top of the arch, and a second stern light on the stern under the dinghy (switch at helm). Practical touches abound, including two fishing pole holders and a flag pole holder.
Sail handling is efficient and powerful with two Lewmar 54CEST electric self-tailing winches on the port and starboard coamings for the jib sheets, a Lewmar 44CEST electric self-tailing winch on the cabin top for the main sheet and spare main halyard, a Lewmar 44CST manual self-tailing winch on the cabin top for main RF handling, and a Lewmar 30CST manual self-tailing winch on the cabin top for the staysail sheet. Two mast-mounted Lewmar 30CST manual winches with stoppers manage all four halyards. The cutter rig is set up so the spinnaker lines run into the cockpit, and preventers for the mainsail run from the cockpit with stops to the end of the boom (new 2019). Essential topside electronics include a speaker/loud hailer, radar, and a fore deck light.
The sailplan is modern and responsive: mainsail, genoa, and staysail are all North 3Di (new 2021). A spinnaker with a sock has lines rigged for handling from the cockpit. For shade and rest at anchor, a full deck shade canopy with two side screens (four pieces) (new 2021) deploys easily. Confidence aloft comes from standing rigging (new 2019; inspected and portions replaced 2025) and running rigging (most new 2021).
Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems are specified for autonomy and reliability. Propulsion comes from a Yanmar 75 HP diesel engine with a 3-bladed prop and approximately 3600 hours, backed by a fuel filter priming system (switch is under box for sink, inside engine room). The engine heat exchanger and oil cooler were cleaned and rodded out (July 2024). Cold storage is generous with a Frigiboat Keel Cooler refrigerator and freezer (compressor new 5/2024) and a beverage cooler drawer, AC/DC air-cooled (new 2021). Ship’s power is supported by a generator MASPOWER 8KW (electrical end replaced 2022), a Charles 60 amp charger (used for engine start battery), a house bank 600 ah LiFePO4 (Battleborn, 6 batteries) (new 2020), an engine start battery 100 ah (new 2024), and a generator start battery 100 ah (new 2024). A 100 amp Balmar external regulator alternator on the engine, a Victron Energy smart battery monitor, a bilge pump counter, and two Victron Energy MPPT 100/50 (one for each of the 550 watt panels) located in the chart locker at the nav station complete the energy system. Hot water is delivered by an 11 gallon water heater (new 2021) heated by 110 VAC and the engine coolant loop, installed under the starboard settee. Climate control is comprehensive: 7,000 BTU in the forward cabin (new 2019); 7,000 BTU Mabru 12 VDC powered in the aft cabin (new 2024); and 13,000 BTU in the salon. A water maker, AC powered, 33 GPH (new 2021) keeps the tanks full. Dockside and tight-quarters handling are made easy with a Sidepower bow thruster 6 HP with cockpit joystick control. A macerator pump enables overboard discharge of the holding tank where permitted. The heads are Sealand Vacu-flush with separate vacuum generators for each head, and each head has a shower drain pump; the forward head pump is new 2019. Fresh water delivery is via a fresh water pump (new 2019). Comforts aboard include Nine (9) 2-speed fans throughout the boat, a washer/dryer (new 2019), a Force 10 three burner stove and oven, and a 700 watt microwave.
Navigation, communication, and entertainment are thoroughly equipped: a Fusion MS-RA770 AM/FM/XM stereo with three sets of speakers (salon, cockpit, arch); a DVD in the aft stateroom that plays to the aft stateroom TV; a VHF radio ICOM IC-M604; and an SSB radio ICOM IC-M802 with Pactor modem and an antenna on the aft port stay. The Raymarine suite includes a Raymarine S3G autopilot (spare is an X30), an AIS transponder, and Axiom chart plotters with a 12" master at the nav station, a 12" slave at the helm, and a 9" slave above the gangway. Visual entertainment is provided by the TV in the aft stateroom and a TV in the salon (new 2025).
