Overview

Leopard 47 bluewater sailing catamaran crafted by Robertson & Caine in South Africa in 2003. Under the same hands since 2008, Dreaming On has been a liveaboard and a luxury crewed charter yacht in Belize, offering all‑inclusive escapes. Meticulously outfitted as an owner‑operator cruising multihull, she carries a suite of upgrades, abundant amenities, and a program of continual maintenance that underscores her turnkey appeal. Celebrated for robust construction, stability, and ocean‑going seaworthiness, the Leopard 47 design inspires confidence, and this example presents in excellent condition. Currently operating as a crewed charter catamaran through August 1, the sellers are open to discussing a transfer before the season’s end, which could afford a buyer the potential advantages associated with a vessel in active business use. A refined performance cruiser with genuine passagemaking poise, ready to keep voyaging in style.

Detailed Description

Interior layout:

Four queen-size cabins each offer the privacy of en-suite heads with showers, enhanced by new Corian vanity surfaces in three guest suites and the quiet efficiency of electric Jabsco Quiet Flush systems throughout. Every cabin is thoughtfully appointed with hanging lockers, abundant shelving and hooks, twin LED reading lights, and two adjustable fans for personalized comfort. The expansive U-shaped salon dining area transforms into an occasional double berth, anchored by a custom dining table and navigation table crafted from Guatemalan hardwood, while the U-shaped sofa was elegantly reupholstered in 2022. Wide double doors connect the generous salon to the equally spacious cockpit, creating a seamless indoor/outdoor flow, and the galley—positioned on the bridge deck beside the salon—delivers ample storage and a chef-friendly workflow. Numerous USB chargers were added in 2021, and air conditioning is available for the forward and aft cabins via two Mermaid 12000 BTU units.

Galley

Every work surface in the galley has been renewed in Corian, setting the stage for serious culinary capability: dual refrigerators—Isotherm 12v CR130 and Isotherm 12v CR130D—are complemented by a chest freezer with an Isotherm Compact Classic compressor and flat evaporator. A Force 10 three-burner butane/propane stove with oven and broiler pairs with a Ninja Foodie to broaden the menu, while twin stainless-steel sinks with a single adjustable tap and shower head make prep and cleanup effortless. A custom bar cabinet with a Corian counter houses the coffee maker, a Magna stainless butane/propane BBQ lives on a transom mount for alfresco grilling, and a comprehensive complement of crockery, cutlery, kitchenware, and glassware completes this ready-to-entertain space.

Cockpit

Expansive and secure, the cockpit is crowned by a custom hardtop bimini with LED lighting, supported by custom sun and rain awnings, bespoke cockpit cushions, and indulgent bean bags. Protection and visibility come courtesy of a Sunbrella and Eisenglass dodger, while refreshments are always on hand with a third cockpit refrigerator—Isotherm 12v CR130D—and a U-Line SS98 110V icemaker with dedicated drinking water station and sink. Cockpit speakers set the soundtrack, an LED security spotlight adds confidence after dark, and a custom double seat beside the helm—positioned above the aft starboard cabin—provides extra storage and prime seating underway.

Electronics

Navigation and communications are comprehensive and intuitive, anchored by a Raymarine e125 touchscreen MFD, digital radar, rotary drive autopilot with S3 course computer and ST7002 control head, and ST60 wind and tri-data instrumentation. A Raymarine Class B AIT1000 AIS and Raymarine 218 VHF with cockpit remote keep you connected, while Raymarine Sirius satellite radio and weather enhance situational awareness. At the helm, a compass stands ready alongside an ICOM SSB radio system, a Sony stereo sets the mood aboard, and an ACR EPIRB provides vital emergency signaling.

Power

Reliable twin Yanmar 4JH4AE diesel engines, each 54 HP and installed in 2009, deliver confident propulsion, with approximately 3,700 hours on port and 3,100 on starboard. Power routes through 30 mm Beneteau shafts to 19-inch three-blade bronze propellers, with new cutlass bearings fitted in November 2022 and KM4A transmissions geared at 2.63:1 for smooth thrust and responsive handling.

Generator:

The Northern Lights M773LW3G 9 kW generator, installed in 2021 and showing approximately 1400 hours, supplies robust, dependable shipboard power for systems and comforts alike.

Fuel

Fuel endurance is assured by two Triple M plastic diesel tanks of 75 US gallons each, installed in 2015, supported by a dedicated fuel polish and transfer system to keep the supply clean and engines performing at their best.

Electrics:

Engine starting is entrusted to two Type 27 gel starter batteries (2023), backed by dual AmpTech 140 A heavy-duty alternators, Sterling alternator protectors, and Wakespeed WS500 LiFeP04 regulators, all from December 2020. The house system centers on a 1,000 Ah LiFeP04 bank managed by an Overkill Solar Bluetooth-enabled BMS, with two Sterling 12 V DC–DC chargers maintaining the starter batteries. AC power flows through a Magnum MSH3012M hybrid inverter, while solar autonomy comes from Solar Bank number one—six 160 W PV panels paired with a Victron SmartSolar MPPT controller with Bluetooth programming and monitoring (November 2022)—and Solar Bank number two—four 135 W panels on a Tristar MPPT45 controller. Shoreside connection is via a single 30 A shore power inlet.

Fresh water

Abundant freshwater capacity comes from two 100 US gallon plastic tanks, pressurized by twin Shurflo 4 gpm pumps for strong, consistent flow throughout the yacht. Hot water is supplied via a heater using a heat exchanger from the port engine or from the 110 V generator or shore power, and a Village Marine Tech titanium “No Frills” water maker produces up to 800 US gallons per day on 110 VAC for true independence at anchor.

Bilge pumps

High-capacity bilge management includes two main pumps rated at 2500 usg per hour, two engine room pumps rated at 500 usg per hour, and two manual pumps for redundancy, all overseen by high-water alarms for early warning and peace of mind.

Anchoring and mooring

The ground tackle inspires confidence: a ROCNA anchor at 40 kg/88 lbs (new in 2023) paired with 300 ft of 3/8-inch high-test galvanized chain from 2021, driven by a Lofrans Tigres 1200 W windlass. An extensive inventory of mooring lines ensures you are always prepared for a perfect set and secure hold.

Sails & rigging

The sail plan is efficient and forgiving, featuring a full-batten mainsail of 80 m² in 10 oz Cross Dacron with two reefs (new 2022) and a furling genoa of 54.54 m² in 9 oz Cross Dacron with a Sunbrella UV cover (new 2023) on a Profurl furler. Upper and lower diamonds were replaced in 2021, and sail handling is streamlined by a Sunbrella stack pack and cover, two manual self-tailing Lewmar 54ST winches on the salon roof for genoa and mainsheet, one manual self-tailing Lewmar 44ST for davits, genoa/jib furling line, and traveler, plus two manual self-tailing Lewmar 44ST winches at the mast for halyards. A Milwaukee 20 V cordless angle drill with splined bit doubles as a mobile power tool for all winches.

Hull

The entire exterior—hull, cabin tops, decks, and cockpit—was professionally finished in AWL-Grip in 2014. With no hurricane damage, no hull rebuilds, and no lengthening modifications, Dreaming On remains an authentic 47, preserving her original graceful classic lines and structural integrity.

Keels

The sacrificial keels were removed, refilled with foam, and re-sealed, with new keel bolts installed in January 2021 for long-term integrity and confidence offshore.

Rudders

Both rudders were removed and inspected in October 2022, confirming reliable condition and smooth steering performance.

Performance

While the larger 19-inch propellers introduce a touch of additional drag, the resulting power response and maneuverability of Dreaming On are exceptional. Under one engine she motors comfortably at 7 knots in reasonable seas with excellent economy, and under sail the easily managed plan delivers crisp handling and effortless speeds above 8 knots.

Exterior

On the trampoline, two large Sunbrella-covered beanbags and two Sunbrella lounging cushions invite relaxation, shaded as needed by a dedicated Sunbrella awning that turns the foredeck into a private terrace.

Transom

Stainless-steel goal-post-style dinghy davits integrate seamlessly with a stainless solar panel array above the tender, while wide steps lead to the swim ladder and twin transom deck showers. Over-water LED lights, LED step lights, and two LED spotlights set the evening scene, and a dedicated butane-tank BBQ ensures the perfect finish to a day on the water.

Tender

A robust AB 13-foot aluminum tender with center console is powered by a 30 HP Tohatsu electric-start two-stroke outboard, protected by custom Sunbrella chaps for durability and polish between adventures.

Dive compressor

An electrically powered Bauer dive compressor is neatly installed in the port engine room, bringing convenient tank fills aboard and extending underwater time wherever you roam.
