Overview

The 34m Solis, crafted in the Netherlands by Mulder Shipyard, stands as a benchmark for bespoke Dutch superyacht building. Exterior design by Claydon Reeves and naval architecture by Van Oossanen blend crisp contemporary lines with enduring sophistication. Celebrated at the 2016 World Superyacht Awards as Best Displacement Motor Yacht Below 500GT (30–41.9m), she epitomizes the modern luxury motor yacht in her category.

A near-plumb bow, flowing shear, and balanced proportions define her profile, while the interiors are infused with calm and daylight. The main deck salon opens via full-height glass doors to the aft deck, where the dining table transforms into a generous sunpad. Forward, a formal dining space with a starboard fold-down balcony enhances the seamless indoor-outdoor experience. Up on the sundeck, a jacuzzi, bar, and expansive lounging create an effortless setting for relaxation and wide-angle views.

Eight guests are accommodated in four suites: a main deck owner’s cabin with skylight, a full-beam VIP, and two convertible guest cabins. Discreet crew quarters for six ensure privacy and impeccable service. Built with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure, Solis is a rare, true full-custom displacement motor yacht in this size range and has been kept in exemplary condition.

Detailed Description

Detailed description

Solis is a full displacement motor yacht of 34.00 m LOA, a pure custom creation built in the Netherlands by Mulder Shipyard in 2015 as hull BN100 and refitted in 2025. With exterior and interior by Claydon Reeves Design Studio and naval architecture by Van Oossanen, she presents a contemporary yet timeless silhouette—near-vertical bow, sweeping lines and perfectly judged proportions—matched by an interior bathed in calm, natural light. Her pedigree has been formally recognised: at the 2016 World Superyacht Awards she was named Best Displacement Motor Yacht Below 500GT (30–41.9 m), securing her place among the finest yachts in her class. Classified RINA (Unrestricted Range), flagged Cayman Islands, and immaculately maintained by one family owner since new, she is the rare steel-and-aluminium, true full-custom proposition in this size range.

Constructed with a steel hull, aluminium superstructure and teak decks, Solis measures 34.00 m LOA (111'7") with a LWL of 32.82 m (107'8"), an 8.00 m (26'3") beam and a 2.25 m (7'5") maximum draft. Her gross tonnage is 315 and net tonnage is 94. Propulsion is by twin Caterpillar C18 diesels rated at 2 × 500 kW (671 hp), driving twin bronze screw propellers via ZF Model ZFW350-1 gearboxes for a refined, low-vibration ride.

Performance is optimised for long-range comfort: she cruises economically at 11.00 knots, consumes approximately 160 litres per hour (42 US gallons) at that speed, and offers a range of 3,800 nm, with a top speed of 13.00 knots. EU plugs and specifications support onboard power needs, while an advanced shore power converter serviced by Eekels in 2025—model EEKELS 75 kW / 93 kVA, item MARPOWER SPCII75—features protection degree IP22, colour RAL 9010, dimensions 1115 mm × 838 mm × 715 mm and a weight of 440 kg.

Tankage and hotel systems have been specified for independence and resilience. Fuel capacity is 36,750 litres (9,708 US gallons) and fresh water capacity is 7,945 litres (2,099 US gallons). Dirty oil capacity is 500 litres (132 US gallons), with 1,760 litres (465 US gallons) of grey water and 1,150 litres (304 US gallons) of black water. Two HEM 25/1600 Frame 1 water makers and an Octo Marine filtration system with two fresh water pumps ensure a constant supply, while Planus Marine toilets and a Hamman sewage plant manage waste cleanly; fuel quality is protected by a CJC filter. EU-standard electrics are complemented by service batteries renewed in 2023, Victron Energy Skylla-TG chargers and Victron converters.

Accommodation is arranged for up to eight guests in four cabins and up to seven crew, with separate crew quarters for six to preserve privacy and service flow. Guest staterooms comprise a main deck master suite with skylight, a full-beam VIP and two convertible twin cabins. The main deck salon opens through full-height glass doors onto the aft deck, where the dining table transforms into an expansive sunpad; forward, a formal dining area with starboard-side balcony blurs the boundary between interior and exterior. The sundeck is dedicated to relaxation with a jacuzzi, bar and generous seating under retractable shade.

Her machinery, hours and maintenance reflect meticulous care. The Caterpillar C18 main engines show, as of 29 September 2025, approximately 6,117 hours (port) and 6,188 hours (starboard); a 5,000-hour engine service was completed at the end of 2023, and the starboard engine was completely rebuilt in 2023/2024. Generators are 2 × 65 kW (87 hp) Onan diesels with, as of 29 September 2025, about 12,997 hours (port) and 12,598 hours (starboard); a major 12,000-hour service was completed in 2025 and the starboard generator’s wiring harness was replaced the same year. Stabilisation is by Naiad Zero Speed, effective both at rest and underway, with bearings renewed in 2024 and the bridge interface replaced in 2025. Dometic air conditioning has had all ducting and units cleaned in 2024 and two main saloon units replaced in 2025. The drive train has been comprehensively refreshed in 2025 with new AxiSeals and cutlass bearings, balanced propellers and shaft straightness tests completed, while the steering system by Trydo features rudder seals renewed in 2025 and a rudder angle transmission via composite tube. Bow and stern manoeuvring is assured by Side-Power hydraulic thrusters rated at 62 kW each, serviced in 2024. Hydraulic systems by Hydroton include PTU valves replaced in 2025 and an upgraded PLC cooling system.

Her navigation suite is professional and redundant. Magnetic heading is by Northrop Grumman, Sperry Marine, with satellite compass Furuno VX20. Autopilot is Simrad AP70. Depth is read by a Furuno FE-8010 echo sounder, speed by a Furuno DS-80 log, radar by Furuno RCU 014 and GPS by Furuno, with MaxSea chart plotting. AIS and NAVTEX are Sailor 6004, and wind instruments are Furuno RD-33. Onboard monitoring and vision are handled by a Tijjsen camera system paired with a Tijjsen MPA platform.

Communications are comprehensive, including Sailor 6006 SATCOM, Sailor 6222 VHF and Sailor 6301 SSB, with a Panasonic telephone exchange ensuring seamless internal and external connectivity.

Deck equipment reflects the same robust specification. Twin Maxwell 6000 anchor windlasses were overhauled and repainted with Awlgrip in 2025, complemented by Maxwell aft warping capstans. Ground tackle comprises a Manson 210 kg anchor and a High Holding Kedge, with six-shackle anchor chains re-galvanised in 2025. Tender handling is by a Besenzoni crane rated SWL 560 kg, and access is via a Besenzoni passerelle, plus carbon fibre tide rider side boarding ladder and side boarding gangway. On deck, a Riviera pool/jacuzzi sets the mood, while both the sundeck and main deck offer retractable awnings for adaptable shade.

Entertainment and domestic spaces are thoughtfully equipped. The main saloon features a ceiling-mounted Smart TV, RTI interface via iPad, Apple TV and SKY Stream, with RTI-controlled music in the dining area, Bluetooth music on the aft deck seating and on the sundeck. The owner’s suite, VIP and guest cabins each offer Smart TV, RTI via iPad, Apple TV and SKY Stream; the captain’s cabin mirrors this specification, and the crew mess adds identical AV plus galley equipment. The galley is fully equipped with a Rational oven and Miele refrigerators, and the laundry includes two Miele washers and two Miele dryers.

Safety is Large Yacht Code compliant and robustly engineered, with two Dräger fireman’s sets, an engine room Novec 230 fixed system, a galley duct CO₂ system and a Honeywell fire monitoring network safeguarding the vessel.

The tender and watersports inventory is extensive: a Williams DieselJet 565, a Zodiac SOLAS rescue boat with 9.9 hp outboard, a two-seat Yamaha Jet Ski, two stand-up Jet Skis, two Seabobs, a Jobe SUP paddleboard, wakeboard, water-skis, snorkelling equipment and full scuba diving equipment, ensuring adventure on the water in every anchorage.

Refit and maintenance during 2024/2025 were notably comprehensive: the ten-year Class and Flag surveys were completed; a full paint job was carried out, including deckheads; connectivity was upgraded with two dome-less Starlink Maritime panels and one OneWeb Italian panel alongside two new SKY Stream boxes and improved access points; the tender received a major engine service; all ducting across the galley, laundry and AC system was cleaned; fresh water tanks and grey/black water tanks were cleaned and painted; lazarette bilges and decks were repainted with a non-skid coating; the forepeak was repainted; forward fuel tanks were inspected and cleaned; VIP/brow area windows and aft bridge windows were replaced; anchor windlasses were overhauled and refinished in Awlgrip and anchor chains re-galvanized; engine mounts were inspected; the entire drive train benefited from new AxiSeals and cutlass bearings, balanced propellers, shaft straightness and dye testing, and new rudder bearings; antifouling was applied with eighteen months of coverage; HVAC was serviced; the shore power converter underwent a major service; hydraulic power PTO valves were replaced; new freezers were fitted in the crew mess and lazarette; and interior wall panel fabrics were renewed. In 2023, new carpets were installed and the bridge leather was replaced. In 2022, exterior brightwork received new varnish on cap rails and table tops, and the teak decks were sanded and recaulked.

With at-anchor stabilisation, proven build quality and a trans-Atlantic range, Solis delivers exceptional comfort and capability for extended cruising. Her light-filled main salon with full-height glass doors and fold-down balcony, expansive sundeck with jacuzzi, sunpads and shaded dining, and the assurance of a recently completed ten-year special survey and zero-speed stabilisers combine to create a compelling, award-winning Mulder custom yacht whose allure is as enduring as her engineering. For clarity and traceability, her identifiers include hull number BN100, IMO 9784922 and MMSI 319086800, while her complement includes up to seven crew and up to eight guests cared for with precision and privacy.
