Overview
CURRENT SEA emerged from a comprehensive $1.2M refit in 2021 with her systems, interiors, and onboard amenities elevated to a modern, turn-key standard. Conceived for refined coastal cruising and confident offshore passages, this luxury motor yacht blends comfort and capability with a sought-after 4-cabin, 4-head arrangement that ensures excellent privacy for owners and guests. Powerful yet poised, she is driven by twin Caterpillar C32 diesels renowned for their reliability, efficiency, and smooth performance. Currently lying in Fort Lauderdale, FL, she presents as a superyacht-level offering with the ease of a ready-to-enjoy cruising yacht.
Her performance and proportions are well balanced for blue-water cruising: the C32s show approximately 4,399 hours to port and 4,382 to starboard, delivering a maximum speed of about 21.2 knots and an effortless 13.5-knot cruise. A 6’6” draft and a 23' beam provide a stable platform underway and at anchor, while generous tankage—3583 gallons of fuel, 423 gallons of fresh water, and a 335-gallon holding tank—supports extended voyages. Electrical power is confidently handled by twin Onan 40 kW diesel generators, showing about 9,060 hours (port) and 9,340 hours (starboard), underlining her practical, long-range credentials as a flybridge yacht and capable cruising motor yacht.
A thorough 2024 refresh sharpened her mechanical and hotel services. The main engines and both generators received scheduled service, while the entire A/C plant was cleaned and serviced, including installation of two new frequency drives for optimized climate control. The galley was enhanced with a new Miele cooktop, and the exterior received a three-stage polish and wax across the hull and superstructure for a deep, high-gloss finish. Stabilizers were fully serviced, the fire suppression system was inspected and serviced end-to-end, and a brand-new diesel day tank was fitted to bolster reliability. Fuel quality is safeguarded by a serviced Separ fuel polishing system with all elements replaced, and an updated vessel monitoring system now provides clear, integrated oversight of all tank levels. Shore power management is refined by a serviced ASEA converter, supporting seamless power transitions in varied marinas.
Below the waterline, the yacht benefitted from a complete haul-out and bottom program, including two fresh coats of antifouling. Running gear was meticulously tuned: shafts were straightened and aligned, propellers reconditioned, rudders removed and resealed, and hydraulic steering rams removed and resealed, with all zincs replaced for proper protection. Bow and stern thrusters were also serviced, contributing to precise low-speed handling and confident docking, befitting a refined ocean-going motor yacht.
On the bridge, a modern navigation and communications suite enhances safety and situational awareness. A Garmin GHC 20 autopilot, Garmin radar with 72 NM range and repeater, and Garmin GPSMAP 8617 and 8616 displays form the backbone of the helm, with chart plotter functions fully integrated for intuitive route planning. A Garmin GMI 20 provides clear readouts for depth, speed, and key instruments. Communications are robust, featuring an ICOM IC-M510 VHF with ICOM Command Mic, an onboard SSB, a Panasonic hybrid phone system, a satellite/phone network, and an ICOM handheld VHF—an ideal configuration for extended passagemaking and professional operations.
Equal parts elegant and capable, CURRENT SEA stands out as a turn-key, bluewater-ready luxury motor yacht—combining superyacht sensibilities, meticulous maintenance, and recent upgrades with a versatile 4-cabin layout—making her a sophisticated and performance-minded choice for discerning yachtsmen.
