The project was overseen by MCM construction management of Newport, RI.

CARYALI is high-volume explorer yacht built by the famous New Zealand Yacht builder Alloy Yachts and designed by award-winning Dutch architect, Rene van der Velden, to travel anywhere in the world in comfort and luxury. Her 8’ 6” draft and heavy displacement with a bulbous wave-breaking bow allow for a steady seakeeping experience. She features walk-around decks and a crow’s nest that is ideal for spotting sea life. Her carefully thought-out design allows the tenders and toys to be stored forward making for easy access to the equipment and water. This unique design offers great accommodations and public space, allowing the inside and outside spaces to work together harmoniously.

The warm, family-friendly interior is a fashionable collaboration between the owners and the prestigious design firm of Redman Whiteley Dixon, finding the perfect use of the interior space with the best of materials. Her five-stateroom design with her on-deck full beam master makes for an ideal layout.  In addition to her huge deck space, CARYALI offers a state-of-the-art gym that looks out onto the ocean when the stern door is open and when closed the large windows offer an equally impressive view. Luxury yacht CARYALI is trimmed with walnut paneling, leather, stainless steel inlays, exquisite marble and luxury textiles. 

The voluminous main salon opens to the formal dining area which is accentuated by a large bulkhead made of a hand-etched panel that replicates the famous Monet water lily painting. Contrasting the main deck, the upper deck is beachy chic themed with a comfortable taupe and white color scheme that matches the hull color. Moving to the skylounge, the owners kept every climate in mind. Retractable glass allows for watching icebergs float by in an arctic setting or sunbathing in more tropical climates. Additionally, heat lamps are above all seating on all decks.

CARYALI is a turn-key expedition yacht that has been kept to the highest standards possible. Recently finishing her Lloyds 5-year survey, she is ready to cruise any waters on a moment’s notice. The attention to detail, efficiency of usable space and sophisticated interior and exterior designs make this blue-water explorer the finest value on today’s brokerage market.  

Walkthrough

When boarding CARYALI from aft one can board from a floating dock or tender by simply stepping onto the large swim platform gaining access to the spacious aft deck from stairs on either side of the transom. When the stern door is open one can gain direct access to the gym by walking down a set of stairs. One can also have access to the vessel arriving at the aft deck by a Passarelle on the port side stern. When boarding from the starboard side from either the water or the dock, one can utilize a fully hydraulic teak and stainless custom stairway. When boarding from the port side one can use a custom carbon fibre and teak boarding stair system. From the aft deck, one will find a built-in settee and two hydraulic hi-low beautiful teak tables that can be separate or come together for seating for 10 guests. There are two built-in service cabinets with teak tops on either side of the double opening door to the salon making for a perfect place to stage meals or cocktail services. These cabinets also serve as a perfect fishing center to house fishing equipment.

Entering CARYALI’s main salon through her motorized double doors from the main aft deck one will be received by a beautifully spacious open and well-appointed salon with exquisite Walnut wood paneling accented with stainless-steel inlays. When entering the salon, one is greeted by a console table, two armless settees, two mohair sofas and a large penshell mosaic custom cocktail table. There is also a credenza between the salon and dining with a pop up TV. The starboard cabinetry features storage for china and the port side cabinetry features a hidden custom stainless steel sink and pop up faucet, both under the port side cabinet top. The salon and dining room is open from bulkhead to bulkhead which offers an amazing light and open feel. The forward bulkhead is framed like a beautiful work of art (the owners commissioned the London firm 'Based Upon' to recreate Water Lilies by Claude Monet in stainless steel/bronze). Both salon and dining have coffered ceilings, the salon with recessed lights and the dining with a custom fixture. The rectangular dining table is made of stained American Walnut with stainless-steel inlays. The table is ingenious in that it opens in both directions so as to accommodate from six to ten guests. The furnishings throughout the vessel were designed and custom built or selected and purchased through a collaboration with the owners and prestigious design firm Redman Whiteley Dixon.  

Going forward from the dining room to port one will go through a paneled automatic pocket door giving one access to a working pantry and a state-of-the-art galley. From the dining forward to starboard one will enter the formal foyer where guests would enter the vessel in a more formal setting. The foyer offers access to the main deck day head with custom carved marble sink plus spiral stairs to the lower accommodations and up to the sky lounge and pilothouse. Within the foyer, one will find an excellent choice of wines from around the world in the 198 bottle wine fridge. Another ingenious detail is the fold down concealed station that is accessible from the master stateroom. this drop down shelf is perfect for coffee or drink service for the master stateroom. Continuing forward through the foyer one will reach the owner’s private study with “his” bathroom and shower. Further forward one enters the full beam master to find a settee, king size bed, ample storage and wardrobes. On port side master one will find a vanity before entering the spacious “her” bath with ample storage Jacuzzi tub, separate shower, sink and toilet. 

Returning to the center of the formal foyer, one can go down the spiral stairs to find a spacious guest foyer, including a guest coffee station, with access to 4 spacious guest staterooms as well as crew access for serving guest areas. There are two guest cabins aft port and starboard with king berths and marble ensuite baths with showers. The forward port and starboard guest cabins are twins, also with ensuite baths and showers. All staterooms have access to complete entertainment, ample storage and wardrobes. 

From the center of the formal foyer, one can go up to the upper deck to find the sky lounge aft and pilothouse forward. When one lands on the upper deck foyer one will find the upper deck marble day head with custom carved marble sink. Continuing aft one will enter a spacious, light and airy sky lounge with large windows that open. To port one will find a beautiful set of white furniture including a large settee, 4 armchairs with 2 gorgeous custom hi-lo teak tables. There is also to starboard, a large bar with 4 white bar stools accented with teak backs. The entire sky lounge has the perfect accent with fabrics and teak wood trim.  

Moving aft from the sky lounge through double curved doors one will reach the bridge deck aft. This is a perfect area for entertaining, intimate gatherings or simply lounging with a good book. The deck is arranged with teak furniture with fluffy comfortable cushions. In this seating area there are 3 settees: one aft in the sun when wanted and 2 settees that are either side within the protection of the deck overhang. There are also 2 large chairs and a center cocktail table. One can also reach the bridge deck aft and sky lounge from the exterior stairs found on the port side main deck aft. 

Going forward on the bridge deck one will reach an athwartship corridor that leads to the large ship’s office with access to the state-of-the-art pilothouse with all the top of the line navigation and communication equipment normally found on a much larger vessel.  From the pilothouse one goes through either port or starboard pilothouse door to reach the Portuguese bridge and forward to the huge foredeck that is equipped with a Zodiac Hurricane 7.33 with Volvo diesel 300hp, Zodiac FC 470 rescue tender and Yamaha jet ski, all launched and hauled by the Nautical Structures custom 3000KG crane with wireless remote. 

When going aft externally from the Portuguese bridge on the starboard side of the vessel one can go up a stairway to the forward end of the sundeck. There is also access to the aft end of the sundeck from the bridge deck aft by going up a set of stairs to port. The sundeck on CARYALI offers so much in the way of accommodations, dining and entertaining. Starting forward on the sundeck one will find a large 10-person Jacuzzi with sun pads on both sides. Under the sun pads, there is a large storage area where one will find a fold-up treadmill and a water rower machine which complement the stern fully-equipped dedicated gym area. Continuing aft, separating the Jacuzzi and large bar, is a day head with an entrance on the forward port side to the toilet area and another entrance on the starboard side to the steam shower. Moving aft of the day head, one then walks through custom curved glass sliding doors with stainless steel trim that slide into place. These glass sliding doors block wind and weather with the ability to slide back in place when not in use and are a true work of art. Moving aft of the day head one will find a huge stainless-steel horseshoe shaped bar with 6 barstools and a TV on the aft bulkhead perfect for watching your favorite sports or movies. The bar is fully-equipped with all the amenities needed for service and entertainment as well as a professional gas barbeque. Aft of the bar one will find two hi-low teak tables that offer diverse seating accommodations. This area is perfect for playing games, intimate seating, or the tables can be transformed into formal dining for ten. Further aft one will find four full chaise loungers for those who wish to get some sun. The large hard top for the sundeck covers from the day head to past the dining aft, assuring cover from the sun and weather.

As if all of that were not enough, CARYALI offers a unique feature not found on many vessels with access to a crow’s nest. The crow’s nest has an easy access by going up a set of stairs just on the forward part of the bar. Once upon the crow’s nest deck one will have a breathtaking 360-degree view of one’s surroundings. There is a built-in seating area found on the crow’s nest deck offering a spectacular view. 

The fully-equipped gym is found in its own private area below and aft that can be accessed via a stairwell through a doorway on the starboard side or the other access to the gym mentioned earlier via the transom. This area also gives one access to additional laundry, storage area, crew quarters for two and the engine and control room. 

The owners of CARYALI wanted their crew to be comfortable and pulled out all the stops to make sure the crew area was of the same build quality in keeping with the rest of the vessel. In the crew area one will find a private captain’s cabin for two plus an additional pullman. There are two additional crew cabins for four with all ensuite heads, ample storage and hanging and entertainment. With the aft crew accommodation, there are a total of four crew cabins with accommodations for eight crew. In addition to the spacious cabins, the crew has a large dining and lounging area as well as a large laundry area. The stainless compartmented built-in freezer and cold storage is capable of allowing the yacht to cruise for months on end. 

When the owners first enlisted Rene van der Velden part of the initial brief was that the boat was to have full walk around access on every deck. Another important feature is that at all time the guests and crew have their own access and space through internal staircases.

She was built by the knowledgeable team at Alloy Yachts in New Zealand in perfect collaboration with the award-winning Dutch designer Rene van der Velden. Interior was also a perfect collaboration between the experienced yacht owners and the prestigious UK design firm of Redman, Whiteley and Dixon with the owners. The project was overseen by MCM construction management of Newport, RI.

CARYALI is unmatched with her many accolades including the World Superyacht Award, the Showboats Design Award, and the International Superyacht Society Award for a yacht in her class. All of this wrapped up in a state-of-the-art build, perfectly kept by her long standing, knowledgeable crew. Impossible to duplicate and a must see.
