Overview

Austin Parker 42 Open

The Austin Parker 42 Open has an original classical line and a sophisticated look that speaks of stylish design. The hull has two long windows, which fill the bow cabin with light, and mahogany trims.

Designed by Fulvio De Simoni, the boat has distinctive lines and shapes mounted on a narrow “V” keel: with two 480 HP  Cummins with straight shafts it has a top speed of 32 knots and cruising speed of 26, with 12 people on board.

Its length of 12.60 metres is an excellent compromise between roomy comfort and ease of management.  The external lines are well balanced and a perimeter walk-around makes it particularly easy to get from one part of the boat to another. The very large prow is ideal for sunbathing.

The central hard top has large windows that ensure plenty of light in the interior and create a very comfortable outdoor saloon, with two armchairs that convert into chaise longues.

The cockpit is open-topped and the stern is opened by a hydraulic system to give access to the gangway, providing a continuous walkway just above the water, ideal for getting in and out of the sea easily, and also for enjoying the experience of sailing in a very special position.

All the walk-over surfaces of the cockpit are in teak boarding.

The craft’s exterior may be in old-fashioned style, but the interiors are impressively modern, with carefully crafted details: fine wood, finished with open-pore water-based paints for the walls, and in wide, bevelled brushed planks for the floor; the upholstery is in top quality linen and the sofas are in leather.

The large owner’s cabin in the bows is light-filled and has plenty of wardrobes and wall cupboards, while the toilet is just a few metres away; the bathroom provides plenty of space, with WC, bidet and separate shower compartment. The elegant, functional dinette is quickly converted into a second double bed, so that the boat sleeps four in comfort.
