  • All TV’s including all AV equipment

  • An automated lift for salon TV was added

  • The original analog power control and electrical switch gear/distribution panels and breakers were replaced with a state of the art digital system. A stand-alone 50amp shore power inlet and cord were added allowing for 150 amps of shore power capacity..

  • Hull audio gauged and areas that were deficient (the grey and black tank) were repaired and the interiors coated with Belzona epoxy.

  • Kaleidoscape was added in master and salon

  • KVH upgraded to HI DEF digital

  • Internet Erikson hotspot and wave Wi-Fi

  • Several AC handlers and chillers replaced

    These upgrades were completed at a cost exceeding $900,000

2008 Restoration

In 2008 Laid Back went through a 14 month restoration and upgrade program that substantially exceeded the original cost of the vessel.

During the process the following areas were addressed:


EXTERIOR:

  • Entire vessel stripped to bare metal and re-faired with Alfair

  • Radar Arch updated to include Mast

  • Flybridge helm/console updated to sliding tambour helm cover

  • Pilothouse to fly bridge manual sliding door replaced with automatic slider

  • Engine room door replaced

  • Transom door replaced

  • Vessel painted Awlgrip Matterhorn white and Stars & Stripes blue

  • Exterior cabinet interiors painted Awlgrip Matterhorn white

  • Hawse pipes changed from aluminum to stainless steel

  • Cleats changed from aluminum to stainless steel

  • Aluminum rub rails replaced with stainless steel

  • All exterior glass and gaskets replaced with new

  • A clear V-cool film was applied to all main deck glass

  • Teak decks replaced with teak of original thickness

  • New exterior lighting fixtures all around with additional lighting being added

  • Throttle and gear controls changed from Panish manual cable to Kobelt electric /2 stations with hard wired hand held remote

  • Steering changed from hydraulic to electric hydraulic (steering pump and cooling fan)

  • Stuffing boxes changed to current Burger standard

  • Stainless steel flybridge windshield replaced aluminum frame

ENGINE ROOM

  • Major overhaul of both main engines performed by Reagan Power & Compression and updated turbochargers installed

  • Major overhaul of both generator sets performed by Reagan Power & Compression

  • Fire extinguishing updated to Halon 1301

  • Delta T fire suppression system installed and air movement re-engineered

  • 2 new stainless Atlantic Marine Products hot water heater installed

  • New air-conditioning system with 3 new Scroll compressors and 11 air handlers

  • 2 new freshwater pumps

  • 2 new air compressors

  • All new transfer pumps changed – black, grey and fuel

  • Water maker raw water supply pump replaced and water maker electrical and water controls updated

  • All battery chargers replaced

  • Shore cord replaced

  • Eskimo ice machine added

NAVIGATION AND ELECTRONICS

  • All systems replaced with new

INTERIOR

  • Carpet replaced with Carter custom wood carpeting in main salon and below deck

  • Traulsen commercial fridge/freezer in galley replaced with new

Remarks

It is unusual indeed to find an ORIGINAL OWNER of a 30 year old vessel.  But, why not – all the design criteria were accomplished – and Burger did it right!  In keeping with the “open checkbook” approach to maintain LAID BACK, a massive re-fit was undertaken in 2008 at a cost that exceeded the original delivery price.  A list of the most significant items is included herein.

This custom – one off cockpit motor yacht, with her classic lines and most capable sea keeping abilities represents an opportunity to acquire a true masterpiece.
