Overview
An eye catching sailing yacht with heritage and pedigree.The 137.80ft /42m Custom 'YAMAKAY' was built in 1993 by CMN Yacht Division and last refitted in 2014. Previously named Friday Star her luxurious interior is designed by Couëdel Hugon Design and her exterior styling is by Marc Lombard.
This remarkable three masted schooner is the replica of the 1972 OSTAR single-handed transatlantic racing yacht, skippered by Jean-Yves Terlain, ‘Vendredi 13’.
CMN Yachts created this yacht for experienced yachtsmen and zith charter focus to the same basic high-tech specification but fitted out for serious (and fast!) cruising. The 43.3m (139ft) yacht was transformed into a luxury, high performance, charter vessel of the very best pedigree.
Couedel Hugon designed the total refitting of Friday Star. Complete refit from 2001 to 2003 of the interior fittings and of the outside deck space restored a strong identity in this renowned sailboat by creating a contemporary, sober and pure design.
The woodwork in mahogany is enhanced by inlaid stainless nets in the bulkheads. The carbon fibre linings harmonise with the clear leathers of the sofas.
YAMAKAY is the 3rd Sailing yacht hull built by CMN (Constructions Mecaniques de Normandie), experienced composite builds craftsmen with 6 Sailing yachts to date.
